Hi everyone!
Hope you're having a splendid birthday Becles!!
Well it's my last day of being part time today...as always am a bit apprehensive [I could worry for England and I'm a lot better than I used to be] but I shall be fine once I get over the initial tiredness. I've only got 4 days to do then I'm off on my hol to Norfolk for a week:T We did our hol list last night on the pc and am ridiculously over excited. Also did the menu for the weekend...this will be our first hol away in the Punto so we'll have quite a bit less space than when we used to have the company car. Careful packing methinks and no room for all those East Anglian bargains I may have been tempted by!!
Washing is well under way and have started putting stuff aside. OH has also been doing extra ironing for me. He's a domesticated star...I was going to write that he's a kitchen fairy but I don't think he'll thank me for that:rotfl:
Small person is with OH today...they're buying a few cheapie treats for him for the hol as he never asks for anything [the only thing he asked for for Xmas last year was the annual membership of the Beano Club!!]
I plan to whizz round Tesco after work and then we're having a cheat pizza and jelly for tea. The small person did really well last term and I realised last night that we hadn't celebrated. That's his choice for tea!
Tomorrow I'm back in at work for the morning so shall come back and hound you all! Then we've got a BBQ in the afternoon. Sunday is fairly open but may take a stroll up Leith Hill which is fairly near to here. Depends on the weather really.
Hugs to all who need them

Good Afternoon everyone,
Happy Birthday Beccles! :bdaycake:
Belated Happy Birthday Chicadee! Sorry I missed it yesterday.
PP, Ajax and Nikki, enjoy your holidays.
Aussielass, You lucky thing seeing the dolphins...that's something I'd love to see.
twink, glad to hear the painting's going so well.
troo, have a great day with your friends.
rchddap, I remember the sleepless nights when I was pregnant...it will all be worth it when the little one is born.
scuzz, Sorry you're feeling so tired.....it's horrible having to work the weekend when you were looking forward to having it off.
Gardenmille, enjoy your weekend.
ageandjo, I hope you manage to get the holiday on the dates you want it.
catowen, Enjoy having just the little one today, though you day sounds anything but nice and quiet.
Kazonline, Sorry you aren't sleeping well, it must be hard especially as you're working so hard in the garden.
mrsmorkenharket, Taking my boys to see cars at the weekend, so I'm glad to hear it's good.
poppycracker, It's your OH's thought that counts.
moggins, If it's anything like my house nothing will be done by the time you come home.
Chipps, Lucky you having good weather.....I need to put washing out, but it's a steady drizzle here.
taplady, Sorry to hear your OH is in so much pain.
Churchmouse, Enjoy your day with your grandson.
Snoozer, The spending and diet diaries sound like a great idea.
Loubee, enjoy your relaxing weekend.
tootles, I love grapefruit for breakfast. Sometimes if I haven't got any fresh, I eat the tesco value...a tin lasts a couple of days and is cheaper than buying it fresh.
Smashing blouse, It must be a difficult job sorting out your nan's house, no wonder you feel shattered.
Shez, Msn is nearly as addictive as MSE....glad you enjoyed chatting to your friend.
cha97michelle, Good luck with tidying up your desk...it will be worth it to know it's done.
Bargain Rzl, Good luck with your decluttering.
Snowy, That's horrible blocking access to mse...how will you get through the day?
Aril, It's great fun planning a holiday, I hope you have a great time.
TM, Good luck with your new venture.
I was up early today to do my volunteer work. I spent the morning with my homestart family helping the mum to do some ironing and tidying, only to come home to find my lot had wrecked the house....dishes and toys everywhere So since I've come home all I've been doing is tidying, cleaning and giving off at the kids.
Anyway, the house now looks a bit more presentable, which is just as well as I'm back to work tomorrow. I work seven days on and seven days off, so I always like to get it sorted before I start back. It's just so hard to keep on top of things when the children are off school, they make such a mess and they eat soooo much, leaving a constant trail of dishes behind them. Ok, rant over.
Dd and ds1 have both now escaped with friends for the afternoon, and ds2 wants me to take him out somewhere this afternoon. If the drizzle stops we might go to the local open farm, if not it might be swimming.
I hope everyone else is having a good day.

Hi all
Another one of my sporadic posts, I love to post regulary but don't seem to have the time, though I do try to read through the post most days.
Life seems to be very up & down for us at the moment. On the up side, I've received £168 dividends for my shares, this is 4 years unclaimed, so not much, but better than nothing. I had a letter from the IRS to say I don't have to fill in any more forms, they finally do believe I'm no longer involved in my ex's business & finally, my DD told me yesterday she has booked tickets for us to go & see The Vagina Monologues in October.
On the down side, hubby had 3 weeks work coming up, but that's been cancelled, also the house he was working on a few months ago that he hasn't yet been paid for has been condemed, not throug any fault of hubbys, one of the other trades missed out some vital components, so now we know why we haven't beed paid!!
Oh Well onwards & upwards, hugs to all who need them.
Hester

Hiya everyone :hello:
Managed quite a good night's sleep last night - at long last. But had to get up and try and calm my barnet into some sort of presentable order and get the posh clobber on cos I had a meeting with the Business Link people. There is the chance of a small grant is I can present a decent enough business plan and they think it's a viable concern. I can manage without it, but every little helps (as they say) However, it was a fairly uneventful meetng and I could have got as much info as I did in a 5 minture phone conversation with him - and not had to have endured endless tales about his golf and holidays!!
I palmed the kids off at one of their friends, so stopped for a coffee whe I got back - also managed to pick up some relevant info for the business and his wife will also pick up appropriate "bits and bobs" for me :j Networking - that's what it's all about.
So, today I have to finish the laundry and get packed. I want to do some cleaning so that I can come back to a half presentable house next wednesdayNeed to get some foodstuffs together - we'll get most when we're there as there's a supermarket close by but I'll take all the perishables from the fridge.
Right, remembered some phone calls which need to be made. Take care and (hugs)) as needed. May not be back here until middle of next week

Shez - I'm sure I read somewhere that dumplings should be added at the end of cooking in the S/C. I know it kind of defeats the object of a SC for you, but perhaps worth leaving them out once to see if it helps?
Thank you everyone for your coments/encouragement on my garden 'challenge'. I was feeling a bit blue as both DS1 and I were so tired this morning we got nowhere fast and decided to have a long break. I chose bed, he chose playstation
Couldn't settle to sleep much so logged on and your comments have really cheared me up, so a huge thank you to you all.
Got to dart to make tea as DS2 needs to go to the bands house as he is playing another gig tonight, but I may be back on later.
Best wishes,
Kaz x
Ps Churchmouse - all that batch cooking will come in handy when you decide to tackle the housework. Well, bit of a shock for me today!!! Last week i had an email from a chap wanting a childminder for his son when he comes to this country, so i email my details back to him and he said yes, he would like me to look after his son. I then get an email saying he is going to send me a deposit, but because his business partner is paying, and owes him more money than he would owe me, could i cash the cheque, and then send the remaining money back to him!!!!! Me thinks that sounds really suspicious, so rang OFSTED (who were no help at all) so then rang the NCMA (chilminders association) who got me to forward the emails to them, advised me not to have anymore to do with the chap and get back in touch if i needed too. (Luckily i hadnt given out any personal details) Anyway, today ive had another email from the NCMA saying i have to forward all the details to the police fraud squad!!!! Ive also had a phone call from the childrens information service to say they are forwarding the details to all the CISs in the country, and all other childcare information people, so all childminders/child care providers can be warned of this scam!!!!!! So a little bit scary, but big thanks to me for noticing and acting on it!!!! I dont know how i feel about it at the moment, dont know if i should feel proud or worried, but i know the chap who was emailing hasnt got my address, and it looks like i can have lots of support if i need it.
As well as all that excitement i have managed to clean the bathroom and toilet, strip DDs bed, all washing done and ready to be picked in, made HM macaronni cheese for lunch and HM pizza for dinner!!! And found time to play with the little one, so tonight im going to treat myself to a big bag of McCoys spare rib crisps (my favourites) and a bottle of the red stuff!!!!!
Hope everyone is having a good day
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Am sitting at a nice new computer- HP dual core processor with 17inch flat screen monitor and snazzy keyboard! £599.96 from Tesco- I checked the till price and if it had come up even a penny more I was going to try to R and R it lol!
Have pizza dough chuntering to itself in the bread maker. Washing is on the line and having a "play" on here.

Catowen - Good job you had your wits about you! Sounds really interesting, and am glad to hear they've not got any of your personal details so we know you're safe!
Heaven only knows what the next scam will be....

catowen -isn't that the 2nd scammer who has targetted you? It was you with the ebay scam wasn't it??? Either that or my brain is really suffering from pregnancy dementia. I keep confusing DH tremendously with really random conversations. :rotfl:
Well girls, my desk at work took 2 hours but is now empty.I really wish i was the neat organised type who had time to do it every day, instead of run out of the place on the bell with the kids. god help me if i hadn't spent some time doing bits before the hols.
I then went to visit my mum at her shop. I managed to bump into a bunch of kids from school, and had a go at them. I don't know what gets it into their head, but two of them were shouting across the street, alright Michelle. I don't know if it is just me, but i find that disrespectful, and told them so. That's the one bad thing about teaching in the village you come from. Also picked up a few bits from my mums shop, as she sells a bit of all kinds of things. I didn't go mad on baby clothes and jewellery this time. I stuck to a musical rattle for pud - so that is now his 3rd christmas present from us organised. Plus some sweets for the hols, and some kitchen roll, sponges, cloths and handwash. She has some really cheap prices, so what the hell. I only spent £8.
I'm just waiting now for DH to get back. He's currently test driving a car, but he's going to come and get me before going to see the 2nd one. Just time for a quick tootle round before he gets here.
Have a lovely evening everyone.
