We certainly did!(several times!:o ) :D and it was delicious! didn't make it to Squires chippy this time though!
I start the diet in earnest tomorrow!
Had a good time but didn't realise just how hilly Ilfracombe is!
Yesterday we visited Chambercombe Manor - a haunted manor house which is to be featured soon on Most Haunted and I recommend this to anyone! it was VERY spooky.A grandfather clock just opened on its own in front of us(no tricks) and I sat in a chair and sensed someone stood behind me but nobody was there! the guide said this happens sometimes among several other occurances!

While I was away(went with Mum and my kids) OH had a springclean so it was lovely to come back to a gleaming house!:D

Nice to be back, I missed you all here!;)

    Hi everyone,

It's a late one for me today - didn't post this morning as there wasn't much new at the time.

I would mention everyone individually...but I've just had a glass of wine and it has gone straight to my head and I can't remember too much! I'm such a cheap date...

So today was telephone hell at w***. Three phones ringing all at the same time all afternoon, just me and one other to cover them, I overheard her conversation "yes I am looking for two nights in the Hilton". We are not a travel agents! I was somewhat irritated, to put it mildly.

Moggins - that new wotsit that you bought...I think you're justified tbh. You've well within budget this month and the cash was there. I agree with Seraphina - just put it in the cupboard, and use it like it has always been there. It's not like he has to go without something, and ultimately everyone in your house will benefit from it.

KiwiChick...hmm, your OH seems a bit vulnerable to impulses. I wish I knew what to suggest. Maybe it's his Christmas present and birthday present, combined - and patch the hole in your budget with what you would have spent on him.

I could kick myself very very hard... I ordered the CTG (Complete Tightwad Gazette) ages ago...today I found a note from DHL who had tried to deliver a parcel yesterday. It could only have been the CTG but of course DHL aren't opon again until Tuesday to arrange a redelivery. I could scream really - I thought that they'd do the same as M&S's courier and just dump the parcel at the front door. I considered using the office address, but things go missing from reception a lot, so didn't. This weekend would have been a fantastic opportunity to have a good old read. Never mind, I will have to log onto MSE instead.

Seraphina...yoo hoo from Newry:hello:!! It's cold and wet today - am I making you homesick:rotfl:?!?

My poor head is throbbing now, think I need the rest of the bottle. Bye!

BargainRZL You are sooooo lucky being able to get to the proms. It is one of my ambitions to get to the proms before I die (if that sounds pathetic I apologise - wait a minute, no I dont!) I love Mozart. Absolutely. Totally. Completely. I risked life and limb to take photographs of the violin and piano he played as a child in Salzburg. I adore opera but for some strange reason (and some people have told me I am very strange but what the hey) I cannot listen to cds of opera. I MUST be watching it. I am so delighted that my DD (who is 10) is also an opera buff and we have agreed that we will go and see Madama Butterfly for her 11th birthday. She is so made up about that.
To be honest, music (especially opera) comes first in my life and that's WHY I chose to live in London :o:D I don't listen to CDs much either cos I don't feel the need to, with all the live performances I go to :j :j Part of the reason for Old Styling is to free up as much spare cash as possible to fund my habit :D

I get a Proms season ticket which is £160 and could get me into Arena standing for all 73 concerts if I wanted to. But this summer I think I'm only going to notch up about 28-29, due to exhaustion and imminent house move :o Last year I went to 47

Hmmm, that reminds me. Need to take posh frock to dry cleaners tomorrow so it's ready for the Last Night of the Proms (2 weeks tomorrow) - not that that really counts as music of course - it's just a big party :D:D
