Well back from gym and having my coffee! This thread grows at an amazing rate!!! Feel a bit of a fraud with this gym business. I really am not that good, not energetic at all (a night owl if anything, definitely not a lark) it's just if I don't go half asleep first thing I won't go at all!!:o
Definitely don't deserve any acolades!
scuzz I don't know how you get up regularly at 4 am, I can do it as a one off, but not more than that!! My son has to do the same when he's on earlies and still doesn't go to be until midnight!!!
skystar hope your delivery arrives earlier rather than later, or is it just me that HATES waiting in for deliveries.:o
poppycracker ooh Kiefer, are you entetaining him in person?:rotfl: :rotfl: Can I come?:D
peem I don't have a breadmaker, so no chance of throwing the blade away, but I've managed to throw plenty of other cutlery etc away with veg peelings etc:rotfl: The times I've been found rooting through the rubbish for my favourite paring knife!!!:D
somo1 I promised myself I'd delay putting the heating on this year, but I can't see me keeping that one!! It was distinctly chilly here first thing!!
Topher you're not alone, I love a new "toy", have to use it straight away. DH always laughs that when I get a new iron I fight him to have first use!:rotfl: The rest of the time I'm happy to let him do as much as he likes!
tinkerbelluk Stardrops does everything!!!! Your sister needs a dose of reality methinks!! Blooming cheek!
Well I got back from the gym and there on the mat was the postcard telling me I'd missed a delivery!! I knew it was my griddle and could have screamed, especially as you have to wait 24hours before going to the sorting office.
Anyway made myself a cup of coffee and a knock comes at the door, and when I answer it's a courier company, with my griddle!!:TSo now I'm a happy happy bunny!! Can't think what the other parcel is, it's recorded delivery
Who cares? Not me, I've got what I want!!
I expect another half-dozen (at least)will have posted while I've taken over half an hour to type this!! Good morning to you but I hope to be busy with my welshcakes shortly!! DGS is baking whether he feels like it or not!!You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
:hello: Morning everyone
Elona - sorry to hear of your loss. You are having a tough time of it.
Ageandjo - I live some distance from my family so know exactly how you feel right now. I'm sure you are doing all you can for her.
Kyle - You lucky thing. Wish I was going to Florida next year. We did New York this year so no holidays for a wee while.
PenPen - the wheel was good - the kids certainly enjoyed it. I wasn't sure that it was great value for money as it cost us £20 for a 13-minute ride. I suppose I compared it to the London Eye too much. The views are great though.
Moggins - Now I know what daps are. In Lancashire they are called pumps but I come from the coalfields of Scotland so I will always know them as gutties. My DD and DS look at me as though I am mad when I call them that.wonder how many other names they go by?
Another lie-in for me today and another beautiful day here so all the beds will be stripped and changed. That will fill the washing line up.
DS is off to the cinema with one of his schoolfriends today so DD and I will get to share some Mum/Daughter time.
Must go. Its pay day today and I must go and pick up my salary cheque and pay it into the bank quick before my overdraft gets any worse!
Have a great day all.

Its when you wait in all day and nothing appears. Now that really bugs me :mad:0 -

Annie, I am in Scotland and I call them gutties. I am marginally in the West but work in the East and I get the funny looks from my work colleauges. They know them as "plimsolls".0 -
 Morning all:hello:
Can't believe there's 30 posts already (more by the time i've finished mine I expect) Does no one sleep around here
well I am an excited bunny too today. Yesterday I picked up a Kenwood Chef, from a freecycle member. :j :j :j :j :j
It needed a damn good clean (20 odd years of cake mix seemed to be everywhere ) but now it's sitting proudly on my worktop, just waiting for me to mix something. Can't wait!!!
Oh and I can thoroughly recommend Starclens for this sort of job, worked a treat:T :T
off to check out the indexed recipes for something yummy in a minute. Breadmaker is back in action, boiling some red and white kidney beans for a chilli, and the slowcooker is busy making some boeuf bourginnone (sp)? for the freezer.
See told you I was getting back into it slowly;)
Have a lovely day everyone... will check back in a bit.
I would say hello individually, but have a 3 yo clambering on my lap as I try to type:rolleyes: But hugs and hellos all round:D0 -

Morning everybody! :hello: :hello: Am in a great mood today. I won't be on here much today cos I had a fab night's sleep, so am all alert and able to focus on work! Didn't realise how much of a zombie I've been for the past week - a few VERY late nights - and even though I had a weird dream last night about moving into the flat and finding the bedroom was in fact too small to fit a bed in
and even though I woke this morning with my neck muscles all scrunched up
I can't believe I feel so AWAKE
:j - I would like to feel this way more often, so a few more early nights are in order, methinks! ... Also IT IS PAYDAY!!!!! :j :j - and although I can't update my signature here (cos it goes all funny, like the paragraphs in my posts, so I'll have to wait and do it at home) lets just say I have beaten my final savings target by about £39 :j :j :j ... And it's FRIDAY and A LONG WEEKEND! ... Plans for weekend are as follows: tonight, if this energy burst lasts, I will start ruthlessly chucking out junk in preparation for moving house (though as I've said before, ruthlessness doesn't come naturally to me - I am called Ruth after all
) ... Tomorrow, my cousin is having a gathering (a drinks do in the afternoon and a curry in the evening) in honour of his and his wife's 30th birthdays, which in fact aren't until December but they're having a baby in October so are doing the celebration while they still can! - that's up in North London ... Then on Sunday I have a lunch date with the nice man who asked me out on Wednesday
followed by a Mozart concert at the Proms ... Anyway, must go, got lots of w**k to do today ... ((((hugs)))) to all those who need them, especially ageandjo's sister ... moggins, I bet the new hair looks fab
I must book in to get mine done ... Gotta go ... love Rzl xx

Morning all!
Work today, so will need to fit in what I can around that!
WM emptied and load hung outside
WM on with another load
DW filled
B - Choccie and coffee (don't! I know, I know)
L - Hmmmm ... dunno, ought to go bung the BM on I guess
D - HM Lasagne, new pots and carrots
Going to get my haircut at lunchtime, you're right (whoever it was, Lucie, I think) who said that short hair is high maintenance. I got my hair cut from very long to just above shoulder length a couple of months ago .. and now it needs cutting again, sob.
Got an eBay parcel to post today also.
The elderberry wine is bubbling profusely, is it meant to do that.
Tomorrow, is far more exciting (well, DD thinks so).... we're off to see Noddy :j .
Monday we're going to a plum festival, which should be interesting (or could be anyway!).
What are your plans for BH Monday?
Daps / pumps / plimsoles - I'm definitely a plimsoles kinda gal.GC - March 2024 -0 -

Churchmouse, hi! Just realised you said really nice things too! So big hug for you, too! Thank you.
DH has taken the children fishing today. The clay pigeons they brought home yesterday have been simmering all night, but still don't look edible :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
