Lucie - I won't even let my mum know that there's an outlet, otherwise there'll be no stopping her!!!!
Everyone who thinks I'm mad for getting up at 4am, I fully agree with you. I hate that time of the day, it's meant for sleeping. I just get used to having about 4 hours sleep for a month, then it's back to getting up at 8 for a month and so the rotation continuesComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Morning.
Don't think i have quite made page one today. There is beautiful sunshine today, so i might try and get some loads of washing out on the line and make the most of it. As the bin gets emptied today, i may also try and do a bit of back garden pruning as well.
Thankfully the plaster is fully dry, so me and DH will do an ASDA run tonight so that the whole of the wonderful bank hol will be kept free to paint. I don't know where DH will get his energy from, as he was working in bristol yesterday, and didn't get home till 1am, and was back up for work by 7:30am. I will make sure he has some rest at some point this weekend. Probably this evening once we get in again.
The freecyclers took our old dining room furniture last night, so we now have a bit more room to manouvere in the garage, and it is another big job off 'the list'. Now less than 200 things to do. :T I've also got a DVD i wouldn't mind watching today, so i think i should shake a leg and start the day.
hugs everyone.

Can I join in? I think it's the first time I've posted on a daily thread but my memory isn't what it used to be...
Working from home most days at the moment as I'm writing up my PhD. Will pop out to library for a break in a minute, then time for a coffee and then back to the coal face.
B: HM porridge/granola/muslei thingy
L: cheese on toastsmoked haddock kedgeree.
I also have some cinnamon raisin bread I'm going to toast for snacks.
H is working hard at the moment so it's quite nice being at home instead of commuting - means I can get house bits and pieces done so he can relax a bit more. The past few days have been quite autumnal with us as well but for some strange reason I'm not feeling the cold at the moment! I absolutely refuse to put the heating on and am hoping to keep the thermostat at an all time low this winter!
Hugs to everyone who needs them and have a good day!0 -
Hello everybody! Hugs to all! Ive got to get going with my cleaning and have got the WM going as its nice and sunny. By the time its finished it will probably be raining! Wish Id thought to set the washer overnight and then it would have been ready to put out straight away this morning.
Left a Cinnamon and Date loaf cooking overnight in the BM and had some for breakfast. Yum!
Got to go to the hairdressers this morning for a cut and to have my roots done. I really don't like having my hair done. Its tedious. My hairdresser is lovely though and its nice sitting there and being made cups of tea!I just wish I could have got an appointment on another day because I like to chill on a Friday afternoon after Ive got all my housework done. Im tempted to ring up and cancel!
Well I need to get off the computer and get going. My little puppy Pug needs a walk because she has luxating patellas and the vet advised 3 walks a day! :eek:0 -

skystar wrote:Annie, I am in Scotland and I call them gutties. I am marginally in the West but work in the East and I get the funny looks from my work colleauges. They know them as "plimsolls".
We called them "rubbers" at primary school in Edinburgh. Which has many unforunate connotations! :rotfl:0 -
seraphina- good luck with the PhD! I submitted mine last October, and had my viva in February this year. Have never been so relieved in all my life
Oh how rude of me! Hello everyone, hope all are well, and *hugs* for those that aren't having a good time.0 -
Morning All!!
When I came on here the thread was 2 pages "Cool" I thought, I can do individual hellos, once I had read it, it was 3 pages and I'm too tired to think straight so will just say a big hello to all and :
Elona: sorry for your loss.
Well, it's a beautiful morning here, not a cloud in the sky. One wash just finished will hang in the garden and have one more to put on. Am off work until next Wednesday!!:j In laws arrive tommorrow so have will tidy front garden today and clean oven. Need to post a parcel for DH and then when he gets back later we will walk into town. DH needs to move some money from his savings account into his current to pay for car repairs - £1692.00!!!!!!! Don't ever buy an Alfa Romeo!!! Will probably visit the bookshop for coffee and cakes and then DH is working tonight.
Had a truly horrible experience yesterday, we have terrible parking issues on our road at the moment, it's a small road and a dead end. There is a new development at the end so it is busier than it used to be but not too bad. Unfortunately there are some offices round the corner who encourage their staff to park in our little road. They park illegally on both sides so that we can't park anywhere, very annoying when I have 3 youngsters and shopping to unload!!
Anyway, after weaving through all the obstacles I found a space, I indicated and put the car into reverse and the woman behind me beeped her horn, I got out to tell her I was merely parking in the space she was alongside and she launched at me!!!
She told me she was going to "thump my face in" twice and that she was going to "f*** me up"!!!!! I had 3 children in the car!! She said she felt sorry for my kids repeatedly because I was clearly hysterical, is it any wonder with her talking to me like that? She was clearly a complete fruit loop and I finally went back to the car to call the police who were worse than useless.
The worse thing was 2 men were sat in their cars waiting for her to move and another stood on the pavement watching and no-one stepped in!!!!!
I couldn't believe it, I even asked a guy for help at one point as I was in such a tizz I couldn't find my mobile, he merely shrugged!!
As DH said they weren't men at all. I would never have stood by and let a woman and 3 children be terrorised like that and whilst I'm 6 foot, there isn't much of me.
My neighbour finally came out and rescued me and she drove off, the police came round this morning after I lodged a complaint. I was in a state for quite a while and as for the kids well.....
The good news is that later I noticed that the Council had been round and marking out the bays for the residents parking and speed humps, I cannot wait to see the employees faces when that comes into force and hopefully these problems won't happen again. What is wrong with people these days?
Anyway, must hang out this wash and put the BM on.
Have a lovely day all.

Hello, and welcome, Seraphina! What's your PhD subject? Ooh, and Loubee, too?
Hello and welcome to Peem, too!
Rzl, I'm no longer the only one in the building, but alone in my office, so have Bryn Terfel singing Handel to me! DD thinks he looks like he should be Daniel Bedingfield's older brother :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: What's on the Mozart programme?
Mimi, that's a terrible thing to happen. People shouldn't be allowed to get away with behaving like that.
