The funeral went very well and was very simple and dignified. Cried buckets but feel much better for it.Dds are sorting out stuff they want that still fits from the ginormous clothing pile. Will start tidying round tomorrow and need to post the two books that I have sold from Amazon today. Then need to try to get my head around probate forms. The bank wanted to sting me for over a thousand pounds and I found out that I can do it myself for about £120!!!Hugs to everyone and thanks for all the support."This site is addictive!"

Good evening everyone,
Moggins - glad the hand is feeling a little better
lynsay - good idea taking photos, hopefully they will think twice now, and if they dont you will have some evidence!!!!
welcome to Tim and welshlassie!!!
Well, just back from town with DS, DDs friend turned up to invite her to her house for dvds and pizza (its her birthday) so shes off partying until 7.30, so was nice to spend some time with DS. We went and finally booked his birthday party at Plymouth Argyle football club, he can take 14 friends, and they will have an hours coaching, a tour of the ground and a birthday tea. Its going to cost £135:eek: but i have said that the party will be his main present, and i dont think thats too bad for 15 children, and they have said if im there with DD, they wont complain if she eats or joins in, so thats good. We then went into Plymouth to buy some frames, ive been wanting to put some photos up the stairs since we moved here (3 years ago) and now i can!!! Then it was off to KFC (his choice) for dinner and now im stuffed!!!! DS is outside on his bike so i have some peace for a little while, so can have a surf in peace. Actually i need to do some dusting and hoovering, and i think i will do that now, ive eaten so much (also had a peanut kitkat, they are lovely!!!:p ) i need to do something rather than sit down!!!! Havnt made the welshcakes yet Kaz, but might do tomorrow:T .
Hope everyone has a lovely evening
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

elona, so pleased for you that it went well. A good cry is very cathartic (sp?) and I'm sure will have helped. Don't forget though, you still need to be kind to yourself for a bit longer.(((hugs)))You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

Evening everyone :hello:
Happy birthday Catznine!
poppycracker ((((((((hugs))))))))
We had a lovely time with our friends in Suffolk. Saturday night my friend made a lasagne, whilst our contribution was a Nigella Chocolate Mousse Cake, which was divine....... Sunday we went to Lavenham and had a little mooch around as DH had never been.
DH and I are hiring a cottage in the Lake District during the February half term, but we're going to have to change it as I decided (with his agreement!) that we'd invite these friends too. They want to bring their (adorable) dog, so we're now looking for a pet friendly cottage! Luckily, we hadn't confirmed the booking on the other cottage....... it was just expressing an interest. We'll have to crack on with finding a nice one.......
Last night (and today) I was up to sunny Lincolnshire to see my parents and hand over our wedding photosso that they can order extra prints for themselves. I also popped into see my grandma and took a tea cup, saucer and tea plate that she had "bought" us for our wedding. As it was all done online, she got my mum to order it all so she hadn't actually seen what she was buying. Luckily, she liked what she had bought
Whilst I was up in Lincolnshire, I popped into the local town to go into the bank etc. In the town is a new-ish shop called "B & M Bargains" (or something like that). Not sure whether it's a chain, as I've never come across them before, but they sell loads of long-life storecupboard items at reduced prices just because their best before dates aren't acceptable in the supermarket eg there's 18 months left, instead of 2 years, or whatever the specs are. I got loads of storecupboard stuff and will make sure that I go back when I'm next up there! Most of it was branded stuff and some was Tesco Finest, just with a short (but not that short) date. Ok, I'll get off my little soapbox........
I'm now waiting for DH to get home from work. We're having spag bol that I have rescued from the freezer. Forget the "storecupboard challenge", I need to do the "freezer challenge"There are so many extra portions that I've put in the freezer that there's no space for anything else unless we eat the stuff in there already.
See you all later

Just a quickie for now.
Kaz so proud of you for posting on the DFW board. Hope the good folks over there can help you get to grips with things!! Can understand your feelings of "nakedness" you really do have to "bare all" don't you? But that's probably the hardest bit done now, facing it head-on. Anywayall for you!!
Pen-Pen Just love your avatar!!! Is that really you in the suit?:rotfl:
catowen I know it's a lot of money, but I actually think your DS's party sounds brilliant value all things considered!! And the memories he'll have will be priceless. He'll remember this party long after he's forgotten many material things. I'm sure you wouldn't be doing it if the budget couldn't stretch, but he's a lucky boy none-the-less!:D
Forgot to say, welcome to OS welshlassie!!

Good Evening All
Had an exhausting day at Paradise Wildlife Park, we had sun, rain, hailstones then sun again. Was quite nice but we ran out of drinks and had to pay £1.30for a small bottle of coke!! We took a big packed lunch which we ate in the car as it was torrential then (sp).
Have just had jp with cheese and beans for tea so am very stuffed. Just browsing on here for a min then will go and start ironing mountain. Watchd Perfect Housewife last night and am quite motivated at the moment.:rotfl:
Have got a busy week as we are having a party saturday. Need to clean house from top to bottom before saturday and work out what we are going to eat. Think it will be mainly buffet subsidised with burgers and nice sausages on the barbie. Will write my shopping list tomm after Ive worked out the amount of people coming. Also need to get to Makro as some of the drink we need is on special. Fingers crossed the weather improves before Saturday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATZNINE :bdaycake:
Congrats to BargainRzl
Glad it went well Elona.
Well best be off now - need to be a Perfect Housewife - as if!0 -
Hello everyone
Elona - I'm glad to hear that things went smoothly today. It takes a long time to get over something like this, so go easy on yourself.
Hurray...I finally got the correct gas cylinder, though it took a bit more tail chasing. I miss piped gas so much...
I'm pooped, sorry if I don't speak to individually to many people today. Though I should mention congratulations to BargainRzl...hurray, you're going to be a home owner very soon!
Bye for now all.

Moggins - glad your hand has stopped throbbing!
Poppycracker - (((((HUGS)))))
It's taken ages to read the thread, so apologies to everyone I haven't mentioned - think I'll have to start logging on earlier...

I have spend all day `os` style!!
Went shopping following meal plan shopping list, was back by 9.30 ( and that was with 2 of my 4 kids in tow lol).
I have JUST stopped cooking and sat down to catch up on todays posts.
I have made a shepards pie, chicken and veg pie, veg rissoto, enough portions of mashed potatoes for all week, chicken mayo for sandwiches for the week, chicken stock AND THIS IS THE BEST BIT....
I made my first loaf of bread, in my new breadmaker! And it was lovley, it only lasted 5 mins as kids and dear hubby got straight to work on it, so i now have it on the go again trying out onion bread!!
Had to tell someone as im so impressed Thanks everyone, without this site i would never have done today lol!!
Elona ((HUGS)) I'm really glad that you had a cry. You sound a wonderfull person and I'm sure your family must be so proud of you - it's important that you take some time to take care of yourself to keep that strength up.
BargainRzl - just because you complete on 18th, does that mean you have to move in straight away, or would the financial bonus be enough to justify paying for both places for a week and then moving?
Thank you everyone who has taken the time to pm me or post a reply to me on here or the DFW board, it's really appreciated.
Catzine - I had 11 welsh cakes to celebrate your birthday - and boy were they delish! Churchmouse - if you can ever get some in the freezer I recomend it - they are lush defrosted in the microwave, and even those I ate frozen tasted good, lol.
Anyway, I'd best try to unwind or I'll not sleep tonight.
Hugs to all,
