Morning ... Grey and damp in London again, doesn't feel much like August ... HAPPY 50th CATZNINE!
... By the way, in case you all think Ticklemouse is ignoring the birthday wishes from Saturday, it's just cos she's gone on her hols, and is now sunning herself in Majorca
- I texted her on Saturday and she was at the airport waiting for her flight ... As per usual I haven't managed to get on here over the weekend, so after a brief flick through I can just about remember enough to say: (1) ivyleaf - congrats on new grandson! (2) moggins - ouch! (3) elona - ((((hugs)))) (4) PP - 92% WOW! The trouble with a mark like that is that you'll never be satisfied with 91% ever again
(5) WELCOME to Tim_N - don't think I've seen you on Old Style before - does that mean we now have THREE WHOLE ENTIRE MEN on the board?
... Think those are the main things I needed to say! ... Anyway ... Had an exhausting weekend and could barely get out of bed this morning ... Am sooooo pleased there's a 3-day weekend coming up :T ... Hope to hear the outcome of the flat valuation survey today ... That really, in my opinion, is the main thing which COULD go wrong, and if it comes back OK, THAT's when I will feel I can start packing for the move without worrying about jinxing it
... Anyway, better go - boss is now on holiday for 2 weeks but that is no excuse for spening all day on OS with all the other stuff I've got to do ... Bye for now ... Rzl xx

Happy birthday Catzine
hope you have a fantastic day
Aussie Lass - I'd happily come over to bring you a puka pad, you pay my airfair and I'll buy you the PadDon't worry, you only need to buy a single, I'm sure the boys are big enough to fend for themselves here
Wow - Churchmouse, gym? Up early? What are you on lassie??
Frugal jo - well done on the ironing hun. You made laugh re the standing on lego - another item for amazon/ebay perhaps
Twink.... Nooooooo, please, not Autumn yet. Just a little hick up in the summer....
Hardup hester - I've seen you mention this chat line a couple of times, could you give me some details to find out more please?
Shez - me thinks those skinnies might be going up a size or two after that banquet! It sounds so lush - I'd love to go to something like that.
Penny pincher - good on you for dealing with that cleaner.
Pen PEn Huge hugs to your DS - he probably feels much worse than the lad who had it happen. Poor lad.
SOM - I keep missing Anthea, grr. I love watching it - more 'cause I like seeing that other peoples houses are a mess and can get better than anything!
Poppycracker (((hugs))) Next time you insist he sleeps on the floor hun.
Catowen - hope you enjoy the welsh cakes if you do make them. My fav bit about them is there's lots of cutting out for little ones to do if they're around. I even let my DS3 (age 7) flip them this time.... very closely supervised of course (ok I was holding the flipper too, lol
Moggins - it sounds as though you had all your bad luck in one day today. I do hope your hand is feeling better today and that your DH takes good care of you. Hope you have a lovely trip today.
Lynsayjane - (hugs) to you. Your doc is spot on on getting you to do things to make you feel better rather than just dishing out tabs. Excercise is one of the best anti depressants that there are, so swimming is excellent - and as for pics, well laughter is the best medicine. Good on you for tackling it before tabs were the only option.
Elona (((HUGS)))
Hi also to ageandjo, chipps,amanda666, Icemaiden, tim_n,chamichelle, Culpepper, bargain rzl and all who follow
Ok, I've been sat here in my Pj's reading all the posts and typing for the past hour (ish) so I think first of all I need to get shaowered and dressed! Then after another cuppa and me pills I'd best write a plan of action - so I'll report back later.... hopefully to include something along the lines of having done my SOA properly, and fingers crossed I may even have sppoken to pay plan.
Hugs to all,

Hi all,
Catznine - happy birthday, I hope your mystery trip goes well (DH always tells me in adavnce about surprises because he knows I don't handle them well, for some reason I need to think about doing something for a while before I can decide to enjoy it:o .
Purple Princess - do take care of yourself, working all hours and not eating regularly is usually a recipe for disaster (or at least a week of work when you succumb to illness).
Penny Pincher - hope you sort out a new cleaner soon, how the old one could expect to be trusted again is beyond me.
Bargain Rzl, good luck on the valuation.
Poppy cracker, hope things go better with OH soon.
Hugs and best wishes to anyone else I've missed.
Expecting both DS and DD back from their festivals today and as it's pouring down they will both have wet tents and soaking clothes and muddy boots  . Just hope they don't get home at the same time or they'll be fighting over the shower too.
couldn't get the hang of Anthea's T-shirt folding even after watching the video umpteen times, it was only when someone posted written instructions on another thread that I got the hang of it, my brain must be wired differently.
Back later,

Morning all
Happ birthday Catzine.....hope it's a good one - enjoy your trip.
Elona - hope all goes well today.
Hugs all round.
Had a really good weekend, feeling all relaxed now. DH did a huge bit of beef in the SC yesterday, (the beef was cheaper per kilo than pork in asda at the weekend) Whilst he was cooking I cleaned out the airing cupboard and all the kitchen draws, sorted and cleaned the larder and had a general tidy of the games cupboard in the living room - got a stack of stuff for the bootfair we're planning to do in 2 weeks and a black sack full of rubbish.
Just need to apply the same ruthlessness to all the wardrobes and have a good sort through, that's a job for tomorrow though I think.
I'm just about to sit down with a couple of expanding files and colour match all my craft papers - fed up of not being able to find what I need - I know it sounds anal but will make it all much easier. Will stick a dvd on and enjoy the rain lashing against the windows.
Dinner tonight will be a beef and onion pie with veg or a riccotta and spinach pasta affair......depends when the riccotta needs using by.
Would love the courgette soup reciepe whoever posted about it......they had courgettes on offer in asda this weekend - 3 huge ones for 45p but they were reduced to 20p a pack so I got 3 packs.....was just planning on blanching them down and freezing to add to things but the soup sounds nice.

Hello, Pooky, it was me!! :hello:
Cream of Courgette Soup
2Tbsp olive oil
1Tbsp butter
1 medium onion, roughly chopped
900g courgettes, thinly sliced
600ml veg stock
120g dolcellate cheese, chopped + extra to garnish
300ml single cream
Heat oil and butter and sweat onion. Add courgettes, cook over low heat 10 mins. Add stock, bring to boil, cover and simmer for 30 mins. Add chopped dolcellate, and stir until melted. Whizz in processor, and sieve if necessary. Add 2/3 of cream and bring to hot but not boiling. Season. Swirl with remaining cream and cheese.
I actually couldn't find the dolcellate I'd bought  , but can report that it was lovely withoutDS has even been asking for more of this "veggie food"

Just a tip, I grow my own courgettes, and am intending to wrie a book on 1001 things to do with them.....
I bought a pack reduced in the supermarket and they were BITTER  and ruined the dish. Might be worth doing the old salting trick if you're not sure. I never need to do this with my HG ones.
