Good Morning All
I'm not logging on to the chat line till later today as my DD has a job interview & I'm babysitting whilst she goes. My DGS is 2 & polly parrots everything we say, so I don't think combining the 2 would be a good idea!
I did roast beef with all the trimmings yesterday for MIL & FIL, everything turned out really well, so I was very pleased. they especially liked BS fruit cobbler, which I made with a tin of cherry pie filling & the weetabix loaf, that I'd added coconut too as I had no dried fruit.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs to all
Hester

Morning Guys!
Catzine-Happy 50th Hun:beer:
Slept well last night:D
WM is on, DW needs emptying and toilet is clean. House still clean and tidy, so nothing much to do...except from tidying up after yourself!
Managed to get through to the cleaner and she was quite rude to me stating that she hadnt taken the coffee or the other 2 items, but when I said that the items had been marked and if she looked at them she would see;) she then went quiet but apologised and asked whether I would give her a second chance....me dont think so! Why would I want a thief in my home, someone who I have trusted for many months....she was not happy by that comment...but it was the truth! Anyway, she asked about her final weeks money and said that I would minus the stuff from it and would send the cheque along with a covering letter-explaining what has happened to her.
Anyway, today Im at the hospital again and then have promised DD the cinema:rolleyes: and we have to open her bank account. Shouldnt be out too long, will just take a while doing the infusions:eek:
Breakie: Egg on toast
Lunch: Jacket Spud & curry
Dinner: Spagbol
Im off anyway, have a great day guys. Hugs to all.

Morning, all!
Had a great weekend. Went to see "Stormbreaker" with the children at the pictures. They've both read all the books, and loved them. They also loved the film, and I thought Bill Nighy was brilliant! I actually recognised him this time, didn't in Pirates of the Caribbean.
Picked and stored sweetcorn, courgette, onion, garlic, shallot, potato, plum, beans, carrots. :j Made courgette soup (delicious, if anyone wants the recipe) and plum crumble. DH cooked pork chops for supper last night - I don't cook on Sunday. Downside is that kitchen looks like bombsite when he's finished!
We went to the pub with some friends and a couple of members of their family who were statying. They keep hens and ducks, so guess what we talked about!
Only downside was the accident on Friday. I went out with 2 friends and their children to the Maize Maze in York. Had a great time, and when we finished, we had a cup of tea, before we set off home. We have between us far more girls than boys, and the girls all get on well, so they sat and chatted. The 2 boys, who aren't really pally, needed to let off more steam, so palyed football, then went off to play crazy golf. They then came back with my friend's son holding his eye, which was bleeding    . There was no-one else around, and my DS, obviously extremely shocked, has not been very coherent. It appers that my DS was going to hit the ball, and the other boy was stood behind him. My DS then hit the other boy in the face with the club. He had a cut just below his eyebrow. Trip to hospital ensued, no stitches, but by the time he came back, lots of swelling and briosing. He's going to be fine, but I think it will be a long time before my DS wants to play golf again.
Hi, Churchmouse! No you're not alone. It was very quiet over the weekend, especially after all Friday's activity.
Ageandjo, piec of luck on the DAB. Would have been v. annoying to go through the tedious business of returning it.
Chipps, have a great day at the Holiday Club. I did that when mine were small - exhausting but rewarding.
Elona, (((((hugs)))))
Amanda, what happened to your cake? I did one for the first time, and it was too sweet. Aussie suggested dropping sugar by half.
Frualjo, that lego quip made me wince, how I remember that! Yes please to the offer of tea, dash of milk, no sugar. And made in a pot, please, not a mug!
Hi, Ice. We have friends later in the week, so curry for them will be good, I think. Also a reprise of the plum crumble
Twink, sun, please remind me of what that's like. All we have is rain, and I have loads of washing.
Catznine, half a century, never. You don't look it! Have a great day.
Queenie, what's happened to you, hun? :A
Shez, DH, and our friend swho came over the weekend, now tink it's pretty likely that Billie and Eco are both girls :T So no HG coq au vin for the time being!
Snowy, enjoy your public holiday. What's it for? Do you get next Monday, too, like us?
way to go, PP! Wish I could do that. I have great speeches in my head, though!
Must dash, or I'll be page 2, or even page 3, Shez! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Have a great day, everone!

PP- just read about what has been going on with your cleaner:eek:
makes you wonder what she has been doing if you havent been thereThis is one of my worries about having a cleaner, I still havent made my mind up to get one or not
Glad you gave her her marching orders you had no choice really like you say who wants a theif in their home.
I think I might clean myself but get someone to do my ironing as I hate that sooooo much there is a place round here where they collect it iron it and return it:T0 -

Penny-Pincher - well done on speaking to your (ex) cleaner! It must of been hard but it was definately the right thing to do.
Penelope Penguin - yes please would love the courgette soup recipe
elona - Thinking of you today :grouphug:
Well it's my second week off work, and apart from tomorrow (DD's got a friend coming round all day) I have absolutely nothing planned
Watched Anthea last night, and was mighty impressed with her t-shirt folding, thought to my self that looks easy and tried it - my brain must have forgotten in the space of 10 minutes :rotfl:   Will look up the thread that has the video clip on it - I will not be beaten
When I've got off here and got dressed and bathed I really must clean the budgies out - has anyone got any top tips on how to keep them quiet - apart from covering them up (that doesn't seem to work lol!)
B: Porridge
L: Leftover Ranchero PieChicken and veg and new potatoes
Have a great day everyone - byeeSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Goodmorning everbody,
Happy Birthday Catzine _party_
(((((hugs))))) to Elona on this sad day for you.
Ageandjo I like winter clothes too. They hide a multitude of sins thanks to OS cookingthat summer clothes don't.
Amanda I wonder what happened to your cake. I don't think i've met anybody that's stuffed up the weetabix cake. Can I have your autograph?:D Practise makes perfect. The second one should be fine.
PP What did you mean when you said the stuff was marked? Like you could go over her place and prove she took them? That was clever. I wouldn't have thought of that. :rotfl:
Goodness I just thought I lost the lot then. Will quit while I"m ahead. Hope you all have a nice day and will pop back later. ByeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
