Hi all,
Late posting today but i have had quite a productive OS day for me. Thoroughly cleaned bathroom (which didn't take long as I've been swishing and swiping the basics every day). Cooked beef stew in the SC and made some mocha squares for DS and DD when they come back from their festivals. They are very moreish chocolatey oaty traybake with soft coffee icing on the top. Trouble is they disappear so quickly.
Also had a chat to DH about cutting our spending bcause we are still too extravagant on food especially. we also decided to shelve the holiday we were planning because we are now intending to extend the house next year and will ned to save. We might look for a cheap deal in another month.
Penny Pincher - good news on the essay, if not the cleaner. I'm starting a course next year in local Govt administration with Gloucester Uni. It's correspondence with a couple of residential weekends like the OU. Not quite sure how it will work out with full time work but at least they are paying for it.
Ivyleaf congrats on the new baby.
Elona, hope things go as well as they can tomorrow.0 -

Managed to get 3 tubs full, so have frozen 2, and have made blackberry and apple crumble for DS and me, and blackberry crumble for DD. Whilst the oven was on, also made potato cakes, chocolate crispies and chocolate brownies, so cake tin well and truly stocked up now!!!!!
Right, need to go and get my 2 in the bath, they really need an early night, they have been staying up later because of the holidays, and they are getting tierd and niggly now!!!!

Its for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust, they send the needles etc to you with a letter for you to take into the doc. I feel really strongly about having it done and absolutely HAVE to find them before tomorrow. At least the house is having a good clean while I'm hunting.
I FOUND THEM!!!!!!!! YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY & WOOOOPPPPPEEEEEWW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
Yay kiwichick! glad you found them!
I'm soooo tempted to go back into town next weekend and buy a shot glass full of melted chocolate or one of the skewersI liked the look of the marshmallow ones though they were the more expensive, but I'm sure I could find the £2.50 for it
The lasagne I made last night turned out really well, so I'm chuffed to bits with it. There's still half to go into the freezer, so that will do another day. Got a few more bits for my christmas box today (will have to sort out a box to put them in now!) so thats coming along nicely. The washing machine is on (again) and the dishwasher is loaded and ready to go, so even though I didn't get as much done as I had hoped I've had a productive day.
Have a good evening all *hugs*0 -

Just had a look through my box with the demijons and it also has some campden tablets (open so not sure if I should use), sterilising solution, some tube (assuming I don't do as I used to and pur straight from the demijon it should be handy, lol) a funnel and even an airlock!!! Not bad for a £1 eh?
Pasta and pesto saved the day for tea again, but I've a bad case of the munchies thanks to all the talk of nicies on hereDo we really need 3 packs of welsh cakes in the freezer - I'm sure the boys won't mind if one disappears....

Hi everyone!!
Congratulations on your new grandchild Ivyleaf. My mum says she thoroughly enjoys being a Granny...you get to do all the good bits but without the same responsibility. My small person adores the attention he gets from my parents!
Got back yesterday from a fabby week away in Norfolk. The weather was a bit mixed but hey we're flexible! Made the most of our Nat Trust cards and enjoyed a few longer walks. The small person happily does 5-6 miles now without really noticing. Only blip was when I came over all blond and managed to lock both sets of keys in the car boot. As we hadn't got round to renewing our breakdown cover that wasn't very moneysaving.
Back to OS with a vengance today. Not much cleaning needed as had left the house reasonable but seem to be washing for England...like somebody else mentioned on the board our little mud hut seems more like a Chinese laundry today as haven't had good enough weather to dry it all outside. Will have a couple more loads to do and then a gloriously huge pile of ironing. Where does it all come from??!!! Did manage to get a couple of Weetabix cakes baked though [one for the freezer] and all the shopping done. Spent this afternoon at a local nature reserve rounded off with a well deserved cup of tea!!

Well done Kiwi, that is a lovely thing you are doing.
We had a lovely day at the in-laws but I now have a bit of a problem and am typing onehanded. I helped MIL with lunch and the knife slipped. It was a brand new serrated chefs knife and it went straight through the palm of my left hand. It's proving more of a problem than I thought it would doOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
