    morning all,

rain again so must crack on and finish the painting, not much to do, but nice to get it finished before back to work on tues
was at the library yesterday, lovely girl the librarian, but she must be wondering about all the books i am requesting, paupers cookbook, tightwad gazette etc, she must be thinking i have fallen on hard times :D
going to take slow cooker back to argos tomorrow as the lid doesnt fit right and get dgs2s birthday present

ivyleaf- congratulations on your new grandson
penny-pincher - well done you on your essay results, sorry to hear about the cleaner, as for three extra hours, thought you said she hadnt done everything
kaz - hope you have a good day, after sleeping better

    love to all xx
  • She hadnt done everything, so theres no way she did extra! Also, why do 3 extra hours and not ask to be paid for it? Used to work in HR management, so am used to confronting people, just a little out of practice:rotfl: ...but am sure I will remember;)

    PP
    xx

36_1_66.gif Conratulations Ivyleaf on your new grandson!! Bet your daughter's glad that's over now!

Kaz glad the sleeping tablets seem as if they will work, it'll make such a difference if you can get into a better sleep pattern. As for your trampoline, you'll have to call it a high-rise paddling pool! Do you think we'll get any more summer this year, it is only August for goodness sake!:rotfl:

Kiwichick, used to get those over here, but they were usually metal I think. Actually think you can still get them but cost a fortune!! My gran used to have one in the kitchen, don't remember it ever not having washing on it! I think as a child I probably thought it was the same lot all the time:rotfl:

And now old age has hit and I've forgotten who posted what, oh except Penny-Pincher, well done on your essay marks!!! And good luck with your cleaner probs. I'm like Aussielass, not comfortable at all with the confrontation aspect, but hey it's got to be done!!

Well must go, didn't think I'd have time to post (again!) this morning. I was right and now I'm running late!!

Must just add twink, it must feel like your painting the forth bridge, you seem to have been ages doing it. Bet it all looks lovely, I'm very jealous!!!
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Wow - everyone is up so early on a Sunday! I thought I was doing well getting up at 8.30am :rotfl:
Today I plan to do very little! I have some work to do on my final year research project - thankfully nothing too taxing! (well done PP by the way .... 92% amazing grade).
When I got home yesterday afternoon I had a gas bill for £201    ....I've only just moved in! It's from the last people but because I changed the name with the gas company they sent it to me    tried to ring them but their lines were closed all weekend for "training purposes"   ....they bl***y well need it! I feel sorry for whoever answers the phone to me tomorrow morning :rotfl:
Anyway, off to have brekkie before hitting the books - hope you all have a nice day whatever you're up to :D

P.S. Those who are saying about the rain....we had TORNADOES in Cornwall  There were some photos on the front page of the Western Morning News yesterday

thats what i mean pp theres no way she would have done extra three hours, as for taking things, if you are sure it is her, and it sounds like it is, then that is not on, good luck confronting her

    Morning All!!

Wow, am I on the first page? Had a lovely sleep, went to bed at 10 and DD woke me at 8.11am!! Lovely.

Have lots to do today, my parents are coming for Sunday lunch which will be:
    Chicken Liver Pate.
Steak & Kidney pie with mashed potato, cabbage, broccoli & carrots.
Rice pudding or chocolate pots (can't decide).
Choc brownies with coffee if anyone has room. ;)

It's quite a wintry menu but the weather seems to fit quite nicely. Spent most of yesterday running in and out rescuing washing I had put on the line, also got the back garden cleared but it's the front that really needs doing, it's a real eyesore not helped by the postie taking the gate off yesterday so it's propped up against the fence!

Have emptied DW, one loaf made, might make another. Washing is hung out on airer in garage with back doors open, I'm a chicken I know. ;)

Ivyleaf congrats on your grandchild, had a dream I was pregnant last night. Definitely don't want that!!

Sweet dreams to those gone to bed, must go off and start cooking or no-one will be eating later.

    Have a lovely Sunday all!!

At last, some "me" time to browse on MSE! It's been one of those weeks.
OH is working this weekend, so I did all my cleaning up last night (including the mammoth ironing pile). Today all I have to do is sort the veg etc for a Sunday dinner & fill a charity bag with clothes that have been lurking in the back bedroom for far too long.

Hope you're all well - I have popped in a couple of tiems this week to see what you're all up to, but no time to post.
Congrats to ivyleaf on her new DGS & well done to PP on 92%. Did you ask the cleaner to do 3 extra hours? No? Well it's her own silly fault then!
Snow Angel, Good Luck with the gas bill. I'm sure they deliberately send these things out to arrive on a weekend when they're closed so you have to wait until Monday!

Right, time for another :coffee: & a catch up on all the threads I've missed.
    Bye for now

    morning all.

gosh i was expecting a wee thread at this time on a sunday morning! blimey you all got up scary early!

although i don't work till twelve i've decided to keep getting up early, so this morn my alarm went off at nine. i've stripped the bed and it'd on washing now. :rotfl: is my response to getting washing hanging out, think i've had a grand total of two loads out this 'summer'. good thing i don't mind living in a chinese laundry!

am sewing up my stuffed xmas tree at the mo, and contemplating brekkie. think my belly is about to start rumbling. going to have sausages with the potato scones i bought (cheap) in asda yesterday.

hoping to maybe paint a couple of doors before work, but we'll see. they are on the list for things to do tomorrow, but if i get it done today means i can get to the gym tomo too.

ooooh my instructor at the gym has asked me to be her test case for her instructor examination. all i have to do is update my program, go over new stuff, give feedback etc but an examiner will be there too! am so pleased she asked me. there is a receptionist job going at my gym which i'm applying for today (cross your fingers folks), will get me an extra 50 a month AND i'll get free membership!!! so i'll have an extra 86 a month for my debts! :j

right well i'm off to get dressed and get brekkie on.
have a lovely sunday folks and hugs to those who don't,
    lyns xxx
