Evening all............back from the quilt show, feet, sore, back sore, head sore......Lovely OH had supper ready when I walked in........feeling a little better now I have had something to eat and rested my tootsies. Good journey both ways......
I managed to go without taking any money!!!!!!!!!! so didn't spend anything, although I did have a credit card with me......my camera went pearshaped after a few photos.................ggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, will post what I did take tomorrow.............1500 quilts to see, by the time we came out I really could not rememebr what I had seen, some real beauty's and some really awful ones...........caught up with a lot of friends, I only seem to see at quilt shows, caught up with some gossip.........saw some gorgous designs for cushion covers and some great ideas for bags that we can adapt. The mind really boggles..........the show has grown enormously since its inception in 2003, it now covers 3 halls at the NEC and is on a par with some of the smaller shows in the US. There were certainly plenty of people there and everyone seemed very happy, nice to have room to move around without being josseled......all in all a very good day, but now I am shattered.......so no sewing for me tonight....tomorrow is another day

Evening All,
I've not read the thread yet - sorry:o. Hugs to all in need of one and love to all.
I am knackered, been on my feet all day trudging from one charity shop to another..........and finding sod all. Was hoping to pick up a couple of bits to boost our local playgroup toy situation but had no luck. Suppose the best time to try is a while after xmas, do you think people will have a bit of a clear out around that time???
I did manage to get a couple of bit for me though. 2 circular basket for 50p each which I intend to put a small collection of smellies in and give as gifts to a couple of friends at xmas. A few scented candles for said smellie boxes, and dd picked up a great hairband with wobbly bits on top which she loves. Grand total spent £2.49.
Also went into tesco and am VERY proud of myself as I normally spend £75-£90 in there easily each week without thinking about it. This month things are really tight, that combined with the fact that I've voluntarily upped the mortgage payment has seen me spend just £55!!! I am trying to make things from what we already have and substitute when necessary rather than buy bits in just cause the recipe calls for them. Tonights dinner was a cheese and leek tart with a mashed potato base, steamed carrots, and leftover beef in gravy. DH was most impressed, as was I cause its all food left from last week that previously might have been binned. I'm still learning.
Going to have a quick browse now as other than a quick birthday wish to TM earlier, I've not been on all day:eek:.
Have a lovely evening guys and gals,

Good evening everyone
I've only just managed to get to the computer as hubby has hogged it all day. Still it meant I could work on the phone line for a few hours without him getting hysterical.
I made the weetabix cake & as I had no dried fruit, I added dessicated coconut, I cut down on the sugar a the coconut is very sweet. It tastes lovely, tomorrow I'm making Black Saturns fruit cobbler as we have MIL & FIL coming for Sunday lunch. Methinks I better not try to work whilst they are here!
Hugs to all.

Evening all, late post today as we went to costco today. Christmas stuff was in so got wrapping paper, ribbon and a tube of christmas biscuits.
Didnt have good night, lo woke up a lot through the night! ds1 had a big hypo attack at 3.00 and couldnt move his right side, he has had this a few times now.
He cant walk or move his arm, very scary to deal with, he was also feeling sick and needed toilet so carried him to the toilet and had to help him stand as he was very floppy.
Dr has put him on a new insulin at night to see if that helps, havent got it yet as he was sending the letter about change of insulin to our local dr.
He is fine now, slight headache this morning, and his bloods have only settled down now.
Boys just off to bed as they were watching x factor, they were laughing like nutters at the people who didnt get through!:rotfl:0 -
I made the weetabix cake to-day and instead of sugar and dried fruit - used a cup of muesli which I have loads of so it was weetabix and muesli loaf and was fantastic. Thank you to all for the recipe.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Morning! I'm in the same boat as you having just got in from work at 1am aswell! Having an hours quiet time before I head off for the much needed sleep!
Plans for tomorrow? When I eventually drag myself out of bed I think I'll have to get stuck in to listing all the ebay stuff that is still littering up the kitchen table and hopefully manage to make something during the August Ebay Challenge!!! OH is sitting on the sofa full of a 'man cold' so he's not gone to work tonight and will prob spend most of the day feeling sorry for himself.....
Like you PP, also back to work at 3pm so no nice Sunday dinner for me this week....
Hope you all have a great day!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

Goodmorning Prinny & Arnie & all to follow,
It's been a lovely day here. Did some work on the block this morning. Went on the computer this arv and found a shower screen & base from Ebay that was quite good. I've emailed them with a few questions but have yet to get a reply. Also found a great website at abebooks for used books. Have bought The Complete Tightwads gazette & More with Less Cookbook.Bargain, they both came to the grand total with postage of US $40. :T Won't get them for a while but all good things come to those who wait.
I forgot the name who just had a new grandson last week. Congratulations. :T He will bring so much joy into your lives. I rang OS & YS last night. YS has found a windows disk. H'es posting it off today.XDIL & DGS left last night. They were up there a month. Hopefully she will visit again here once she's settled back at home. Well I'm off to drag DH for a walk. His sookiness has broken now
and I'm back in the good books. :rotfl:
Hope you all have a lovely day everyone & pop back later. ByeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
