    Good morning everyone. :)

Snowy I'm glad you enjoyed your day off...the weetabix cake sounds delicious, I think I might give it a go.

PP Enjoy your breakfast in town.

Hester I loved reading about your new job yesterday!

Moggins and Kaz I'm glad you had a good day yesterday.

ageandjo I'll be glued to BB tonight too, though I don't care who wins as long as it's not Nikki.

Elona I hope you're ok and looking after yourself as well as everyone else.

Aussielass Cross posted with you....Good evening! And good luck with the bikini wax, you're a braver girl than me.

I've had a busy enough week off with all the children at home...they get nine weeks summer holidays here and we're all beginning to get a bit bored. I'm at the stage where I want the house back to myself during the day (only because they make such a mess and seem to have a constant stream of friends eating everything in sight) yet at the same time I know that as soon as they go back to school, I'll miss them. There's no pleasing me really.

Not a good day here yesterday.....The kitten, who is now named Tilly, started sneezing on Wednesday night. I took her to the vet yesterday and they diagnosed cat flu. The vet gave her an injection and some tablets and apart from the sneezing and sleeping a lot she doesn't seem too bad. I couldn't bear it if anything was to happen to her now, even though we've only had her for a week, she is well and truly part of the family.

I should have a pretty Old Style day today....back to work tomorrow, so planning some bulk cooking for the freezer to keep us going for the next seven days. I might rope the kids in for a few chores as well to try and get the house in some sort of order for the weekend.

I hope everyone else has a good day! :)

Goodmorning Snowy, PP & Ageandjo & all to follow,

Great minds must think alike as I made the weetabix cake today too. I used raisins and 1/2 wholemeal flour and it's lovely. Had 2 slices already. :D I also made a cheesecake for DD as she's been down in the dumps as well this week. We have pmt together.;) She loves cheesecake. It's turned out nice & I also made the sweet pastry. It usually gives me grief but behaved well today. :p

I went and started mowing this arv but the mower conked out on me. Won't start so will have to get DH to look at it. Still can't put my computer in as we haven't been able to find Windows recovery disk. If we can't find it we will have to buy another one. The repair guy won't use his as it's illegal. Who cares about illegal. :D I won't tell Bill Gates. Hope we find it as it will just add to the cost.

Well I will go, about to try a bikini wax. The wax stuff was reduced to clear. Hope it doesn't hurt too much. I usually use the creams.

PP Enjoy your morning with your Mum.

Agenanjo I watched the final of BB too. :D Bit crappy this year though.

    Snowy How's the FL going?

    Talk later, byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Good Morning all
Hope your day is looking good.

I have woken up with renewed enthusiasm today, decided to take some Flylady challenges and my sink has been shiney for two days :) Realised we have so many Hotspots we should be glowing.
OH leaves for work at 4.45am anyway so decided to make the most of this now so WM and DW are up on/emptied by 6am.

Fridge was given TLC yesterday and today it's the cookers turn.

Like ageandjo I want to enjoy the BB final tronight (I too have gone off Pete -so it's Richard or Glyn for me) so want the house done so I can relax.

The biggest grey cloud had just empied it's contents over South West Dorset but I can see a glimmer of blue, possibilty of taking the children and the dog too the beach this afternoon, even if the weather doesn't improve there's something about the beach in the rain..

  • Hello! :D

Catching up with the Archers, and dealing with e-mails. Lost track of both while I was away, and have more than 500 messages in my in box  , not counting my hotmail (used for Freecycle and seed exchange).

The Snells (in the Archers, btw :D ) are having to pull their belts in, and are doing some great MSE things. :T Any other addicts out there?

Morning Snowy. Done my Flyladying, shiny sink, tidy kitchen, and pile of paperwork sorted, and several items in a small pile to address today (couple of TMFs, money into bank, Tax credit renewal   , phone some builders).

Hi, PP. Have a great day. Cooked brekkie sounds good. We're going for one tomorrow after children's swim club. They have 5 pieces for £2.50, including drink and toast. Really good quality food - bargain! I'll have coffee and toasted tea cake, then shopping in John Lewis in Sheffield with DD. She wants to make a skirt, so we're browsing fabric. Great fun, she's good company. :j

Ageandjo, you don't have a boring life! It's certainly not boring around here. :D

Pink, 9 weeks hols, how lovely! Can I move to near you? :rotfl: I know what you mean, though, about wanting children at home when they're at school, and vice versa.

Aussie, I'm making weetabix cake today, too. We're going to the Maize Maze in York with friends, in the thunder and rain, too, by the look of it  One friend has invited us all for chilli afterwards, so will probably end with a glass or 2 of wine, and weetabix cake!

Frugaljo, you've been busy! Have a good day.

Kyle, good news about your DS. Must be a relief to you.

Kaz, any update on your Moggins day out?

Last year Amazon sent me a camera battery in error. Hard as I tried, couldn't get any sense out of them where to return it. Put it on Freecycle last night and have a stack of replies this morning. Result - better it goes to someone who can use it rather than landfill.

    Good morning all
I've just dropped hubby at the station & now I'm logged on to the chat line waiting for the first caller, lol. I'm really hoping I make some money by monday as 4 lamps out of 8 have gone in the kitchen & I'll have to cook by torchlight if any more go.
I'm going to try the weetabix cake today as it sounds yummy.
I always have asda's cheapie weetabix in the cupboard in case my DGS stays with me, though I'm not sure if I have any dried fruit.
Hubby has worked 3 days this week, helping his brother, so am hoping he brings some cash home with him as I ran out of bread on Wednesday & am getting fed up with eating branflakes for breakfast & lunch, lol.
This is proving to be the most effective diet ever!
Hugs to those who need them

    Morning All,

Firstly I must say HUGE 23_30_126.gifto all of you for your kind words yesterday. DH and I have had words and he says he understands and promises to work harder. He also had a sit down with DS and they are friends again - phew!

I must also say a personal thankyou to HESTER, you really made me chuckle yesterday. I had the most stressful afternoon and reading your posts after I managed to clean everything (!) bought a smile to my face. I think it was the wynciette post.

My kids had a lovely day yesterday, we had the girl from next door over. Shes normally quite stressful and I said yes to ONE hour but they played so well that I let her stay till 4.30! For some reason after she went home it all turned to poo. I made our dinner while the kids were eating theirs and all was well till DS dropped a full cup of juice on the floor. I slipped in it and fell over (nice bruise today) so I ushered the kids out while I cleaned that up. I heard them in the bathroom while I was mopping the kitchen, STUPIDLY thought nothing of it. Went to bathroom after doing kitchen, its bl***y flooded. I'm talking proper flooding, into the front room and the new carpet, under the lino at the edges of the room. I have to get the vax out to suck it all up. Get that done, DH arrives home and kids run from the garden to see him. Cue muddy footprints on my new carpet, I spent all sodding day keeping shoes off kids while they are in the house  so now I have to shampoo the entire carpet. Get that done and hear DH shouting from ustairs that the radiator in our room is leaking on the floor, lug the hoover up there and clean it. Turns out its been leaking on the sly for ages cause the carpet is mouldy:mad:.

An evening I could really have done without, and all that cleaning meant I missed Anthea doing hers - GUTTED!!!! Is it repeated?????

Am hoping today will be better, off for coffee, love and hugs to all.

    Morning all

Pink-winged I hope your puddycat recovers quickly, they are such a worry when they are sick, just like having children :(

Hester - I had to chuckle at your job, one of the girls on the downsizer website does exactly the same job and she was trying to convince me to give it a go. DH is such a prude I think he would have a fit!!

I'm shattered this morning and the arthritis in my hips has kicked in with a vengeance but as I'm taking the oldies shopping this morning I have to keep going. Tonight I am just going to collapse on the sofa with a glass of the wine DH bought me last night. He has to be in court this morning so I'm hoping to talk him into picking up some birthday presents for me whilst he is in town.

    Have a good day all.

    Good morning all.

I have a confession, I too have sucummed to the power of BB. I have only started watching it the last couple of weeks (missed the last couple of nights so not sure what everyone has been upto). I think I would like Jennie to win - just because no-one seems to rate her and all the hype is about the others! Think if Glynn wins it would ruin him, he is so young (even more so that his 18 years). So I shall be watching that tonight.

Got a busy weekend planned. We are putting the house on the market so I have to go and choose a new carpet for the lounge as the current 1970's one is hideous. Also plan to paint the lounge and tart up the upstairs loo and bathroom (DH does not know about this yet!).

As for today have to pay the toddler group funds into the bank, choose a carpet, go to an Aladdin show (free show put on by council) - kids will love this. Also need to price up some bathroom fixtures - towel rails and alike as previous owners took them with them and we never got round to replacing them (have only been here 2 years:rolleyes: ).

Am thinking about catching the bus to the next town that has a Lidl as need some olive oil and nappies (never bought these from Lidl but someone said they were really good). Only problem is this involves catching the bus with the LO, which they love but its raining at the mo so not sure what to do  .

Anyway off to read some more posts.

And HH do you get many callers this early in the morning? I always imagined the busy time would be in the evening?
