    Morning all,
Pen Pen have you tried the Maize Maize in Cawthorne near Barnsley? Just thinking of today's stinky weather and travelling. Its on the same site as a decent Garden Centre, the home farm (petting farm) and the Cannon Hall museum (indoors and reasonably interesting if a little old fashioned museum style) Also lovely grounds for walking & playing, with a river & formal gardens as well as stretches of open land.
Parking approx £3.00 for all day, 4 tea rooms / cafes to choose from. Oh and the Home Farm shop (watch piglet being born, buy their own food to feed piglets, then enjoy the sausages...... ) and the home farm Deli, excellent pork pies and other goodies, reasonably priced.

When the weather is good, a walk into the nearby village of Cawthorne is quite sweet, often Antique fairs on Sundays in the village hall, as well as the Diddyest museum up in the village... (see the very same boots worn by a farm worker when he got hit by lightning, read the story of how a local teacher lost one of the boots... Thrilling!!!)

Just finished adding my low cost Christmas cake recipe to the Christmas thread.

Dashing off to take two car loads of pruned possessions to the charity shop.

Morning everyone - very quick post today cos I need to leave for town to get my hair cut in about 5 mins.

Off to visit my brother this weekend which Im really excited about cos the last time I saw him was Chrimbly - we speak loads but its amazing how quickly the time flys by.

Have been working away for the last couple of weeks and this will continue for another month or so which means lovely hotel food at ridiculous prices again:mad: Wont say where if you dont mind as I have gained myself a very nasty MSE stalker so I will be giving a few less details from now on - my own fault I guess you tend to forget this is for worldwide reading:eek:

Anyway the real reason for coming on today was to say a very happy birthday to my mate Ticklemouse for tomorrow - Sorry to be early hun but I probably wont have access to a puter for a few days.

Have a great birthday hun you deserve a bit of spoiling oh and have a lovely holiday too:T

Same here! Just seeing the terrible people who think that they're "made" for singing getting told that they're not the best is just fab. At least I know my limits. :D
What astonishes me is how they never run out of auditionees! They seem to have more audition venues every year, with thousands of people turning up, and we've now had (something like) 10 series of these ITV talent shows! So presumably a lot of the people come back year on year, hoping that this time they WILL have the X factor! Personally it's the average people (i.e. the ones who rarely make it onto the telly - cos the brilliant ones and the "train smash" ones are more entertaining!) who I think are the most deluded. I do reckon the "X factor" is something you've either got or you haven't - not something that you're suddenly going to gain by being a year older with a few singing lessons behind you!

Cant beleive I had no idea that Perfect Housewife was back on - asa finished typing will rush off and sort Sky+ to record it from now on.

Aussie-lass Hope the bikini wax wasnt/isnt too painful, I always take a couple of paracetamol before any waxing.

    Happy Birthday for tomm TM:beer:

Bargain - Ive my fingers x'd for you.

    VickyA - enjoy your househunting.

Everyone else hello & (((hugs))) if you need them.

Am feeling a bit better today and looking forward to doing some cleaning and ironing (I must be mad) OH is taking the kids out later and I cant wait to have the house to myself for a while. They will prob be eating a big lunch out so think will get some rolls out of the freezer for tea.

After housework want to have a surf to look for some retro sweets, we are having a belated 40th party soon for my oh and Im sure ive seen a website somewhere that sells things like spangles. Also need to burn off loads of party cd's and start making a food list. Im looking forward to it but also am waking up in the middle of the night thinking of saus rolls:rotfl:

Wont get round to it today but want to start using the MS Money that I bought ages ago - finances really get behind along with everything else in the school holidays and want to get up straight as quickly as possible in September.

Going to go now and have another cup of coffee - have a great day.

Morning all....(((((((HUGS))))))))))) to those who need them........ did not get to sleep until after 1.30 had a book I just could not put down, so did not wake until 9am this morning.ooooooppppppppppssssssss, will have to do better tomorrow I am taking a friend to Birmingham to the quilt show.......we need to leave at 8.45 to get there for when it opens, its quieter then.......will be shattered when I get back, but never mind, will post the photos on webshots on Sunday sometime.........

We had a massive thunderstorm yesterday OH's bowls game was called off....I managed to finish marking out another cushion cover and got the centre of it done, now have a very sore middle finger on my left hand.... so no sewing for a couple of days. have put some surgical spirit on to try and harden it up a bit.

We had the sausages from the butcher yesterday, was not impressed, the ones I get from the deli counter in Tesco are much better.....so it looks like I might give him the bums rush, he is very expensive too.

Did all the ironing yesterday morning, so thats done for another week at least, I usually do clothes etc one week and sheets the next..... just the two of us and its cooler so the sheets last us ok. I rememebr when I was little we used to put the top sheet to the bottom so one clean sheet a week. Also made a sandwhich loaf in the BM used up what was left of a bag of wholemeal made up with white flour, its turned out ok, will see what its like when I slice it later.

Right I am off for my caffine fix..........
