Yay, had to post & say good for you Hester:D I'm vaguely thinking of some part time work which I can fit around other things, breifly considered this when I read your post but had to think again 'cos I don't think it would be a very good idea just as Spud is leaning to talk:rotfl: although it might not be such a problem as I wouldn't have a clue what to say:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Nabowla, I've come up against similar sort of thing before, I'm 31 & STILL get really bad acne (the clearasil is starting to clash with the oil of olay nowdays:rolleyes: which do I use first?:D) plus I have ezcema in my scalp so it can look like dandruff. You would think people would be able to see past it but apparently not:mad:

Been good & done the shopping, got a 21st pressie in Boots, a half price FCUK smellies kit for £4 & I paid with points so didn't break the bank, plus I am being very good & whenever I spend my points I am putting the same number of £'s on a gift card for my impossible M-i-L's Xmas pressie:D Got a box of luxury biscuits for my 86 year old great-aunt. I know I could have set too & made them for her but to be honest she wouldn't have apprecieated them any more for being homemade plus I can't gurantee I'll have much time next week before we go to see her & I don't want to be caught short.

Sainasburys lose cherries are half price at the mo but no sign up so I was pleasently suprised at the till to find they were only £1.25, I only want them to make cherry brandy for hubby for Xmas so don't mind that they are a bit soft:D I was cheeky & stood their picking off all the stalks before I took them to weigh & pay too:p
Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!

Its not just the opposite sex....its also the fact that his parents run a farm and she has a thing for animals.

Couple that with the chances that OH and I are probably the only ones who have pushed / encouraged her down the 'do something with your life' track....I probably shouldn't be so surprised.

Right that it. I'm going to strangle my 17 year old step-daughter. She's officially on borrowed time until we see her this weekend. She gets her AS Level results today. She needs certain grades to get through to the course that she wants to do (decided A'Levels is not the direction she wants to go in).

Lunch time came....hadn't heard....waited to talk to my partner (her Dad) to find out. She'll have told him of course. Nope...he didn't know either. So he called her fiance / boyfriend. Turns out she's with him and won't get back to the college until later. So she doesn't know the results, and from what my OH said isn't too interested either. In otherwords, she'll pick them up if she can be bothered, but chances are she won't get / find the time.

If she doesn't get on the course she'll probably move in permanently with fiance and his parents, and work for them (for free of course). So desperately want her to be able to be independant if she needs to. Ahhhhh
Wow!! engaged at 17 and going to live with him permanently and work for them for free!!! What's she going to do if it goes pear shaped? I'm only 21 and I find it really hard to understand the need to get engaged and move in together so early  hope she gets the results she needs, fingers crossed for you x

What's she going to do if it goes pear shaped?

But in the brain of a 17 year old of course it won't go pear shaped. Everything is going to be hearts and flowers... rather than doom and gloom. So she doesn't need a back up plan. There is a lot of history behind this need to be with someone and getting married etc...

Considering her Dad only met her when she was 14 (another long story) its a rather special relationship that's been developed between all of us. She is her father's daughter through and through....so both of us can see what might happen (as my OH probably would have done it himself...and regretted it). No we can't do any more right now...except keep everything crossed and do a bit of praying.

    Good afternoon all!

Overslept this morning and woke up feel very grumpy. OH had made me toast and tea then proceeded to talk to me all through eating them which made me worse. Think my PMT has caught up with the rest of you!

It is horrible and grey and drizzly here which is not helping anyone. I've got a lot of gardening to do today but might give it a miss and think about Christmas presents instead.

Well, I've read all the posts so I apologise for not mentioning everyone, but I wanted to say (((hugs))) to Kiwichick and her DS. OH does that to the dog which I can't stand so I can imagine how you feel with it happening to your ill wee one.
Hester good for you on the job! I've been sitting here having a good laugh at the posts about it. I wouldn't know what to say either! :rotfl:
(((hugs))) to Nabowla it's horrible when people don't bother looking past the 'cover' to the actual person. Hope something comes along for you soon.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHEZ'S MUM Hope you have a good birthday party

Sorry, that's all I can remember! (((hugs)))) to anyone I missed who needs one and hope everyone is having a good day!

    Hi all
It's fortunate we don't have cameras on land lines as I am 54, 4'11 & size 16/18 & am usually dressed for comfort rather than speed.
As for being tongue-tied yes it happens sometimes, but I find a bit of huffing & puffing a few ooohs & ahhhs give me chance to think of what to say next.

After 25 years married to someone who's idea of foreplay was to say, 'You ready, I've been downloading !!!!!!' ( my ex) I find most of the guys easy to chat too.

I do have to send hubby in to another room if I take a call & he gets hysterical & has been known to end up crying with laughter at the sight & sound of me sat in my wyncette jammies, knitting away on a scarf & heavy breathing.

True, I can see where you're coming from with the 17 yr old thing!! I was the opposite and moved out at 17 on my own (independent, don't need anybody else kinda thing!)!! Well I'll keep everything crossed for you too hun xx Although in the end it may just all work out ok  Life is a funny thing isn't it
