You want more details Pen Pen? What can I say, yes I often get a fit of the giggles which I have to disguise. Like a lot of jobs, it can be very boring, it is very repetetive saying the same thing over & over again. Not many people on here know the details behind my divorce, but suffice it to say, after what he put me through, nothing any of my callers say will surprise me.
I used to have a regular caller, who was a farmer who had lost his wife a few years ago, he used to tell me all about his dairy herd & his knee surgery. We got quite friendly & I felt very sorry for him as he was obviously very lonely.
We have to be very carefull that the caller is over 18, some obviously aren't as they have high pitched voices & giggle a lot, we are told to put the phone down on these calls. I usually tell them that their mum will be very cross if she finds out.
One guy phoned me once and whispered that his wife was asleep in bed beside him, I kept saying 'What?' 'Pardon' as I couldn't hear a word he said!
Some guys know exactly what script they want you to do, so you just follow their lead. others have no idea, so you end up throwing all sorts of suggestions at them til you find one that hits the right note.
I usually work for an hour, then log off for half an hour then log back on for another hour. I can potter around the house between calls as long as I don't go too far from the phone, & as long as I remember to stop the DW & WM as I answer the call.
I'm happy to answer any questions, but if they are rude, please pm me as I don't wish to upset other board users.

Went to bed early last night...and found that did the trick. Only woke up once and I feel refreshed for a change. Which is a big change and haven't felt awake when I've woken up for months thanks to my little growing bean.

House is still pretty tidy with not much to do. Will probably put the washing machine on tonight with a few bits, but not much else to sort out.

Tea is going to be soup.

    Sixth Anniversary
    Morning everyone

Hugs to kiwi and DS - i think an apology would be a good idea too!!! My DH has had to do that in the past.

Its pouring with rain here - very miserable!!!!

Started on some christmas cards yesterday with DD's - they really enjoyed and 3 hours just whizzed by !!!!!! Much better than watching the box.

Found some sardines in the freezer yesterday (bought reduced ages ago) so will try them today.

Hope everyone has a good day

    Morning all,

Hester - way to go! I have to admit I think I would get the giggles...

Feel geared up for a good day today. Need to test the slow cooker as I don't think it's working but there was a thing in the TWG about testing it by putting water in it on High. Otherwise DH says he will look at it.

Kids off to summer scheme at 10 and I have to get ready for visit of MIL, BIL and niece and nephew tomorrow. BIL and kids go back on Mon eve but MIL is here till the following Sun. DH is still trying to explain the new hand luggage regs to her - she doesn't watch the news so had no idea about the probs last week! Am planning lots of OS meals - MIL is very OS.

Need to tackle the ironing as it ias currently piled up on the bed MIL will be occupying! Am also going to try a cake in the BM - never done it before

Hugs to Kiwi and ds and to everyone else that needs it

    Congratulations Hester

I have a friend who is looking to do the same thing (honest) she is stuggling being a single parent with no family nearby and it would suit her personality. (that is a compliment for her!). Perhaps you could pm me some details.

    Many Thanks

Never mind a PM! As I said, details, please. I've led a very sheltered life, but intend to become eccentric as I age (a selection of purple hats, and a pig on a string, taken forwaalks around the village, btw), so an invented earlier life in sex line chat, might just top that off nicely!

Edit: Thanks for that Hester. Maybe enough details for now, IYKWIM! :D

Morning everybody :hello: ... Kiwi, ((((hugs)))) to you and DS. I was smacked as a child by both parents and it was an education - in that between them, my parents managed to show me the "right" and "wrong" ways to use physical discipline! I.e. Mum: "You've been naughty. Now come over here and have your smack!" (smack hand or smack bottom depending on seriousness of offence). Dad: "Scream... shout... WALLOP!" ... The result of this is that if I did ever have kids I probably WOULD smack them, cos I thought my mum's way was very effective, but I'd know the difference between controlled punishment and the use of violence in anger   ... It's very similar, in fact, to my financial education - Mum: "Let's go and have a browse in the charity shops. Must just balance my spreadsheets first". Dad: "Must have the best of everything regardless of whether it gets us into debt" ... Hardup Hester - I like your style :D ... d'you think the callers' need to call your line in the first place might have something to do with the inability to last even 2 minutes :rotfl: ... Anyway ... Survey is taking place on the flat today ... Please everybody keep your fingers crossed that Nationwide don't decide not to lend me any money because of the type of building :o ... I had another very early night last night, and am actually beginning to feel almost human when I wake up in the mornings! It'll be another evening in for me tonight, though with no alcohol on this occasion (managed to get through a whole bottle of red last night) and hopefully should wake up tomorrow full of the joys of spring ... Does anybody know where MushyPeas has got to recently? ... Anyway, must go, am being audited ... see you later ... Rzl xx

Wow! Page 2 already! I am late although I have been up since 6.30 - had a panic about glasses, so rushed around emptying cupboards and washing and shining all the odd ones we have lurking about.

Ache a lot today as I spent the day not only cleaning the house but sorting out our messy garden ready for Fridays party. Forgot all about pacing!:o but I am a lot better these days so fingers crossed I will be alright. I even went into the old summerhouse (more of a shed really but I got it for a bargain price after the 80's hurricane!) ) it is falling apart and needs a good overhaul. I even braved all the spiders  and woodlice and swept it out and dysoned it. I've cleaned all the furniture we have out there and just hope we have enough chairs for those that turn up on Friday.

Now to sort out the food! We are off to Costcos tomorrow for all the meat salads and bread stuff also the cake which we have pre ordered but the wine and beer etc are I think a lot cheaper at Aldi. I need to do a list as I am not very organised!

((((Hugs to everyone)))) specially Elona, I loved the vicar that did my Dads funeral, he was so kind and understanding and I even went back to see him a few times afterwards.

Kaz - Hope you feel a bit better today and you and Moggins enjoy your day.

    Catz x

Bargain Rzl - Cross posted! Good luck with the survey! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

    Morning everyone:hello:

A morning full of incident already as usual with you lot :D

Kiwi I would be livid too, hope DS is OK give him a :kisses3:

Twink hope your DGS' tests go well, you're not related to Kyle are you ? Her little one was going to have a diabetes test and has an older brother with it. Have I got that right ?

Hester congrats on your interesting job. Sounds a laugh :D

Pennypincher my DS1 is going for a sleepover with his vile best (and unfortunately only friend) tonight. I've been trying to distance ourselves and DS from said friend. Fortunately they are going to be in different forms next term at their new school, so hopefully Ds will make new friends. One thing's for certain friend will never come here for a sleepover, I won't even have him for tea anymore. Trouble is his mum is really lovely and a good friend, son takes after his vile father who his mum is in the process of divorcing.

Anyway, I'm just not going to go down the sleepover road with my lot. We haven't enough room and that's the end of it.....famous last words

I'm off to catch up on the interesting thread someone mentioned earlier.Bye

    Good morning all!!

I started reading nearly 40 minutes ago!! Nobody except kiwichick and her DS are getting personal mention:rotfl: :rotfl: ((((Hugs)))) to you both! And also to all else who need them.

Came on here as soon as I got up (8.50 lazy devil!!) and made my coffee, so now I'll have to go starting with a shower, dress, hair makeup, make myself look presentable. Right that's the morning accounted for!!:rotfl: Might have to forget looking presentable, need to strip beds this morning and get linen out on line while it's drying weather.

Oh and catznine it's page 3 already (just thought you may be set to more posts per page than me, just ignore me, I'm babbling)

Going for a quick 10 minutes wander then definitely starting. Bye Bye!
