Good morning all
kiwi - hope DH & DS make it up soon, & DH learns patience with kids.
PP sorry to hear you've had no sleep again
hello to everyone else, sorry just glanced through posts as I am really tired from long day & lots of driving yesterday so will read properly later.
DS & I went to see DD & family yesterday, so we left at 6.30 am to try and avoid as much traffic on the A12 & M25 as possible. It was DGD2's 1st birthday last week, & we couldn't get down there as I had only just got the courtesy car (going from a Discovery to a Matiz) and I was not confident in driving something so vastly different to what I was used to - especially on the M25. I still have the Matiz, but have got used to driving it, so felt confident to drive that far in it. It was quite a busy day, as DD is really tired with a 2year old & a 1 year old; they are both lively little characters, & quite hard work, although they are great fun & very good. So I helped DD with some decluttering. I did suggest a flylady 27 fling boogie, but then looked at the room they have been using to put junk in & decided we needed more drastic action!!!! I think we filled 3 bin bags & 2 absolutely enormous boxes of folded cardboard & paper. (I'm talking 3 ft high boxes here!) plus some other stuff in the recycling and salvaged all sorts of other things that she'd forgotten they had.
By the time I got home at 10.30 last night I was shattered!
Ok, got to go & get DS up, it's piano lesson today
Have a good day everyone!0 -

Lol PP,
I'm not selling, but your other guess is spot on, s*x chat lines don't pay well, 5p per minute, sounds great, but you have to keep the caller on the line for 2 minutes before the payment starts & very few stay on the line that long. Talk about Wham Bam & thank you Mam!

Thx for the though Elona, its not that he goes OTT all the time, its 2 or 3 times a week that he will smack one of them. He always seems to feel guilty afterwards and says sorry and I ALWAYS make a big deal of it. Wonder why he still does it then? I've never thought about that before. I think maybe we need to have a talk about it, maybe if I point out my past, again, he will see how much it hurt me then and still does now. Seeing him smack them does make me physically flinch so if he's any sort of man he ought to take notice if I explain just how much I hate it.
It doesnt help either does it?? My 3 respond much better to a spell on the naughty step than they ever do to a smack. Even youngest dd, 2 next month, understands the nauthy step and will stop any naughty behaviour if threatned with it.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -

Kiwi
Maybe you should put DH on the naughty step!
Could you try to explain to him that it maked you sick to your stomach when he does this and that you are losing respect for him? You need to state this very calmly and lead up to why you feel so strongly."This site is addictive!"

Hi Elona
Yep for my sins, that is what I'm doing. I first started 4 years ago during my divorce. Every time I got a job, my ex would track me down & get me sacked. Although I didn't earn enough to live on it was enough to tide me over between jobs & kept the bank happy as at least it was a regular though small income.

Good for you Hester :T :T :T
Kiwi :grouphug:
Well, I don't know where to start today, so MSE seems like a good idea! We still have boxes in our living room, but we're gradually finding places to put them all away.I've written 24 thank you letters so far, the total that I need to write is 81  We still can't believe how generous people have been, especially as we only sent out gift list info when people asked for it as opposed to putting it in with the invitation in the first place (we didn't like to presume.........:o ).
Things that I need to do today:
Shower
Phone up estate agent about a house that I've seen on Rightmove :j :j
Hang washing out to dry
Ironing
Put more washing on
Post letters and write even more...............
With that list, I'd better get cracking!

Morning all
Hester - Congrats on the new job - I'd not be able to stop giggling
Kiwi - Hope your son feels better soon, as for DH, rather than the guilty treatment, I think I'd explain that smacking isn't really the way to go and ask for his suggestions on how to go forward.....I know that personally I have to take a step back now and then and get DH involved in decision making, it's far to easy to say "this is how we'll do it" and they feel left out......He's probably feeling guilty enough as it is and could probably do with a hug himself. (sorry if I'm speaking out of turn)
PP - Sleepovers are the bane of my life - the kids get so excited and never sleep - I'm sick of having them home the next day when they're grumpy and moody through lack of sleep...good luck with her today!
Essex girl - Hope your cold eases up soon.
Hugs to all that follow.
Lots of things to sort today, Cat needs to go to the vets tonight as he's limping, thought it was an abcess but I can't find it - his paw is all swollen but he's happy for me to touch it and is still purring like a tractor...will get him checked out to be on the safe side. Whilst wandering around the garden yesterday my dad pointed out that we have some deadly nightshade, never had it grow there before so must find out the best way to get rid - Garden will be out of bounds today until it's gone (rain forecast for this afternoon anyway).
Had a letter from the bank yesterday saying they were going to charge me £28 for going over my overdraft limit.....I went £18 over for a day, the reason being that they took 5 days to clear a cheque instead of the normal 3.....I was so angry, that was the first time in about 5 years the account has even gone into overdraft and money goes in regularly each week......DH phoned and had a rant, spoke to a manager and quoted various bit of FSA regulation to them (handy that he knows what he's talking about) - result - no charge
Only one little one here this afternoon, going to have a go at making the weetabix cake, then we can have it after tea.
Going to spend the morning catching up on washing as DD's are home from my parents, both are lounging in bed realising how nice it is to be home and have mum make them breakfast in bed.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hardup Hester I am speechless
Elona Had to smile at the word *Vicar*. They don't get called that here. It reminds me of Benny Hill shows & types like that with the vicar skits.
Better go and start tea. Having chicken with creamy mustard sauce. See ya later.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
