Kazonline wrote:Kiwichick (((hugs))) is there something in particular that you find hard about having your SD around, or is it simply because of her connection with OH past? I'd imagine there are lots of people in your situation who feel the same - and most aren't good enough to hide it, so good on you.
SD is a lovely girl, nice temprament (sp?), nice manners, the kids love her and my DH's past isnt a problem for me. I think it is purely that we dont know each other well enough. I've been married to her dad for 6 years but we've only seen SD for a few hours every other weekend. Now we've moved its from sat around 12pm ish to sun 6pm ish every 3rd weekend. I did say to her mum she wes welcome to stay for a week or longer these 6 weeks hols but no mention of it has been made by her since. I just hope it improves as time goes by. I want to by the kind of person SD feels comfortable with through her teen years and into adult hood. Her mum and I talk like old mates and get on well so it ought to be OK.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -

My kids are after a pet and a rabbit is all I am willing to get at the mo. Do any of you own one??? How expensive are they to keep?? I'm hoping that after the initial setup costs of a hutch etc its gonna be cheap?!?!?!?WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -

Well my afternoon sewing has turned into a couple of hours if I'm lucky!!!! OH announced as he was going out of the door to his bowls match....'oh by the way we do not get tea today, its a visiting team from Scarborough and they requested just tea and biscuits'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and here was me thinking I would have a boiled egg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!so just prepared two jars of pickled beetroot. OH cooked the beet last night and left it in the pan I wanted to use............salad with homegrown everything and also a bowl of potato salad, again all ingredients except mayo home grown....baked a loaf of bread, have never used the rapid bake on the panasonic before thought I would give it a try, the loaf has just finished, it looks ok, will see whats its like when I come to cut it. Took 2 hours rather than 5. Slit the skin on the shoulder of lamb and put the garlic in, its in a poly bag in the fridge covered with red wine................roll on tomorrows supper.
OH dug almost 30lbs of spuds at the allotment yesterday, we are comparing to see which varieties have given the best yield, it looks like next year we will grow 2 rows of 1st earlies 2 rows of second earlies and 2 rows of main crop. We have not put in any main crop this year at all. One of the varieties has given us some really big spuds as well as some little ones I can cook in the skins
At the library this morning they had a book I had ordered in May in for me, the book of the series 'Its Not Easy Being Green' about !!!!!! Strawbrdige and his families move into trying to live a greener existance. I have had to hide it under a cushion.......I started to read it and found it so difficult to put down..............BUT I MUST go and do some work on the designs for cards etc.........otherwise I will have nothing to sell.
Right made myself a cup of tea, when I have drunk that I am off upstairs to play on my machine......................:T :T
See y'all later may be, depends whats on TV if its the usual rubbish I may well decide to spend some more time on the machine.............

Hi All!
I haven't posted here for a while but Catznine's post caught my eye, I'm sure you will both feel better after a cuddle.
My daughter (20yo) is flying to Glasgow tomorrow, not looking forward to the queing up. Shes packing today & thinking hard what to bring, its only for 3 days while doing resits for uni. but is consious that all will go in the hold, so no lip gloss or handbags on board!
It does make you think about what we carry around in our bags - I now try to keep mine to minimum. When going to work I have a small purse with switch card & sainsburys card, in case I need petrol - sainsburys is on my way to work, mobile phone, tissues & lipstick. If Im shopping in "mall" I bring other loyaty cards. Of course bags are big at the moment and it is very tempting to fill them up....planing for the future, living for today0 -
Hello everybody!
Had a long sleep in the end...just punctuated by waking for nothing a few times. I do feel a lot better for it though.
Pink - your little kitten is absolutely gorgeous, what a stunner! I like Tabitha too (as you know), Poppy and Twiglet. Then there's Milly, Posy, Molly, Suki, Sadie...why they all end with an "ee" sound I'm not sure, when my two cats are called Dylan and Ted (though I admit to calling him Teddy as well). It sounds like it was just meant to be, with her settling in so quickly. My little Dylan was the same - a bit younger than your's but when he came here I thought he'd pine for his mum and be a bit lost. But no, he just wanted to play with me, and from his first night forward until the warmer nights arrived he snuggled up with Ted to sleep.
Tootles...it's not a wife your OH needs, it's a magician...
Moggins - I am glad you have risen above what has upset you and turned your back to whatever argument is going on. You know you're amongst like-minded friends here.
My day hasn't really seen much action from me yet, other than to scoff a blueberry muffin and some toast. I'll have to give myself a swift kick up the botty and get some flyladying done, the house is getting there, but i don't want to fizzle out like last time.
Bye for now all, hope you're having a fab Saturday.

The good wishes must have helped as I went to tesco - got a nice squashy ivory coloured bag :j :j
They had a sale on clothes and I got a deep blue silky crinkly skirt for £2.50 which should have been £20 and a deep brown skirt with lacy pattern inserts for £3!:j
Will try on skirts with plain top and let Dds decide whether I wear skirt or dress for the wedding."This site is addictive!"

I have added two new pictures to my 300E webshots album one is a design for a card the other is for a design for a ring cushion, please do not look at the cushion, just at the design, we have to perfect making the inners..... the idea is that your wedding ring/rings are tied to the cushion and a 'little person' carries it, I have put a ribbon on the back so it can be held....... this a very much a prototype, the real thimg will be made in satin, or the fabric from the brides dress.....open to various ideas, using you lot as testers.....a suggestion that came from someone on OS.........the link to the album : Double click on the photos and they will enlarge.

Hi All! Thanks for making me feel so welcome! I managed to drag myself out of bed a couple of hours ago as Casey was barking to get out of her cage - I had to let her out before she drove me mental! Arnie doesnt bother and he sleeps quite happy on the sofa (talking about my Bull Terriers here - not kids
!!!).
Spent the last couple of hours listing a whole lot of stuff on ebay as OH emptied the car of all the car boot stuff that didn't sell. It's faily time consuming but I've got about 25 items on at the mo - will be doing my best to list more every day until hopefully it is all gone and I have got some cash to help my out of my sticky situation!
Got another letter from my bank today offering me a loan. Why when they turned me down on the last application? I will maybe have to go in and speak to them and see what they can do. Another option is visit a local financial advisor that I know fairly well and he is very good on the confidential side. He has offered the advice free of charge as long as I buy a couple of drinks the next time I see him out! I can live with that!
Anyway, away to list another couple of things, someone out there is going to get mega bargain!
Speak to you all soon!!!!

Well its 2am here on Sunday morning. Woke up about an hour ago from a bad dream. Laid there for a while hoping I;d nod off but had to go to the loo. I'll have a bit of a surf around here first and then try again. I usually sleep like a log
I'll be tired tomorrow if I don't as I have about 6 hrs driving ahead of me.
I;ll just go and check out your design Tootles.
Pink All the names sound good. I had three cats when I was little. I called them Mother, Smokey & Littlely. Odd names hey.:DDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
