    Afternoon,

Quiet day in the land of Zed. DD is watching Piglet on video, DH is decorating the dining room, I'm meant to be getting on with curtains, but due to feeling bloated and achey life is taking longer than normal (that time of the month again, sigh).

Washing is all done, ironing pile is not looking too horrendous, so I think I will tackle that in a mo as opposed to sewing.

I had a letter from Tchibo asking me to send a cheque as they'd had problems processing my cc  , seems most odd as I know there isn't a problem with my cc. Anyone else experienced this? I want my yoghurt maker!!

Greengages - I've got 2lbs lurking in the fridge ready to make in to a crumble ... do I just cut up / add a little sugar / lob over crumble and cook ?

Told DH that we need to eat the contents of the freezer before we do another big shop ... as we have an awful lots of odds/ends to eat which I have been kinda ignoring! So tonights dinner is going to be a battered fish medley! Y'know solitary fishcake / fishfinger / cod portion type of affaire!

    B - Cereal
L - Pizza and garlic bread
D - Fish medley with new pots / carrots / sweetcorn and peas.

Oh and we found a damson tree in the garden!!! It's got erm ... 1 damson on it ... or rather it had one damson on it, LOL.

The current "crop" from the garden consists of 4 cherry toms / 1 chilli / 1 green pepper / 1 damson - dinner from that?!?!

I am off to watch the rest of Monk and try to finish DD's rug at the same time. Mince is thawing for tonights tea, I may do DH's favourite Shepherds Pie, either that or Spag Bol.

DH is off to work again tonight and I want to get started on some knitted scarves for christmas.

    Hi again

Just thought I'd say that after such a nice load of post yesterday.... horrible lot today. One electric bill, one phone bill and a cheque (not for me, for work). Hmm. But, the electric bill was for less than I'd put aside for it and the phone bill is paid by DD so I suppose it wasn't THAT bad!

Btw Penny-Pincher and Moggins welcome back! and glad your dd is doing OK catznine.

ps we had a fry-up for lunch so it'll be risotto for dinner....I'm still thinking of frying OH's naughty bits... he's still annoying me!

    Morning all!
Hi Shez - Bless your DS, me thinks he deserves a new car for being so brave - after all he hasn't got many :D At least the type he has at the mo don't need insurance/fuel etc. Pitty help if the addiction continues into adulthood!
Pink - Congrats on your new kitten! glad she's settling in well
Catzine - felt really sick reading about your daughter, I hope she recovers well from the shock and the fright. ((hugs)) to you too as I think sometimes it can be worse for the parents - I'm sure we'd all rather it happen to us than our children.
Hi Hommer - Haven't seen a post from you for a while (haven't dared read the F/L thread for a while - coward as I am ;) ) Hope you're ok.
Hope your yog maker arrives today Amanda
Hi to arnie&caseysma - hope your ebay listing do well
Aussie lass - don't forget to drink lots of wine tomorrow - purely for medicinal reasons of course - namely to ease the pain of the trek!
Kiwichick (((hugs))) is there something in particular that you find hard about having your SD around, or is it simply because of her connection with OH past? I'd imagine there are lots of people in your situation who feel the same - and most aren't good enough to hide it, so good on you.
Lillibet - hope you have good weather for your picninc - oops just read your latest post and it sounds not! Hope you have fun with it indoors at least. I'm sure your little un will think it's great!.
Ronankfan - hope you find something nice at the farm shop. There's one near my mum, and though it's VERY expensive at that one I did indulge in a steak once - made the stuff from MrT seem like carpet!
Catowen - you've most prob left now, but I hope you have a lovely time.
Poppy cracker - I find clove oil fantastic for toothache - particularly if it's caused be a cavity that's accesible. However it can 'burn' like crazy so do be VERY carefull when applying it - I use a cotton bud.
Ageanjo - funny you should mention it going cold... when I went to bed last night I was shivering - we even had to put on the heating!
Joannasmum - Hope you get the potty training sorted soon - perfect time of year for it - everything dries in this weather. Winter is a pig!
Ooh, Twink, that was lucky with the BP monitor.Hope it's a good un for you - lol, and may all your future reading be healthy and low :D
Livingin hope - GOt my fingers crossed that they'll get the pay sorted for you. Who was is to blame? Tax or work? IF it's work then I hope they do the decent thing and give him a cash advance.
Tootles - that lamb sounds lush - have you room for four more 'round the table? :D
Moggins - I've obviously missed something on the threads somewhere, but have to say that I for one am glad you are staying as I know you've done so much for so many on here, and I would miss you LOADS.
Thriftlady - Pizza and pics sounds great, hope you all enjoy
Hi Elona - hope the shopping goes well and that a pair of shoes and bag jump out at you while looking for your DD (preferably with 75% off the rrp :D)
Good luck with the bootsale softstuff, and hope you feel a bit better soon.
Welcome back PP - hope you all had a lovely time
Hi Glad. Isn't Baking addictive when you've got a BM? Lovely results at a fraction of the mess - that's my kind of OS ;)
Hope you have another nice night at the proms Bargain Rzl.
Dorry - My mum developed hayfever in her late 40's, my nan in her late 70's. It seems that hayfever can strike at any time - perhaps that's the case with your allergy? Or are we talking food allergy type?
Zed - made me chuckle with that fish medley. I know someone who regularly servs 'ifits' ie 'if it's in the freezer you're having it!'
OOO! finally, end of the thread!!! That'll teach me to do other things before I log on!!!!
Supposed to be making a picnic at the mo to take up the mountain.. We're off to get some more blackberrried, and then I'd best do something with them before they go off.
It's certainly getting colder here - as I put in my note to ageandjo, I even had to put the heating on last night. Mind, it was late as I didn't get in from my 'party' (W*** for me) until about 11, and processing the orders till nearly 12.
Well this picnic isn't going to make itself (luckliy have quiche in the freezer so just making a pot salad to go with it)
Hope you all have a good day,
    Kaz x

  • Afternoon all,

Not been long back from Portsmouth. Had a fantastic week with the Royal Marines band, the kids were very well behaved and they learnt so much, me included.

We did an open air concert then the Beat Retreat at sunset, felt very emotional during land of hope and glory. It was a fantastic experience and will hopefully be going back next year.

My wrists are really sore though from a week of drumming, so will chill this afternoon, after the washing has been done.

    Hi all,

Catznine, it's horrible getting a phone call in the early hours isn't it. Our dd has done it to us twice, the first time she was getting on a night bus in London at 3am in a crowd of people and felt her mobile being taken out of her pocket. She confronted the man she thought had taken it but he denied it. I told her she shouldn't have in case he'd turned nasty but when she reported it to the police they asked why she hadn't made a citizen's arrest:eek: . She was only 19 at the time.

Last year she rang from Thailand to say she'd left all her tickets and travellers cheques a thousand miles away - Kids.

PP glad you had a good holiday and Moggins glad you decided not to stay away.

Ageandjo I hope things stay better for you.

Hello to newbies and hugs to all who need them.

I'm feeling happy because I've heard from my honorary ds today after several months of silence. He's an ex bf of my dd who I became very close to, he even lived with us for a while when ds was away at uni. He's still very dear to my heart and last time i heard from him he sounded unhappy but now he has told me he has been promoted and is happy in the place he is living so I feel much better about him.

Must go we're trying to find a relatively inexpensive rplacement for our conservatory which lets in torrents of water when it rains, so far everything we've seen has been horrendous so if anyone has any tips please let me know.

    Sue

Right, that's the ironing done ... so can't use that excuse any longer ... right, time to get crawling on the floor to finish this curtain. Then I can get started on the next pair.

    Kitten.jpg

Finally worked out how to post a picture! Phew!

So, here's a picture of my new kitten. She looks much bigger in the photograph than she is. We still haven't agreed on a name for her, so any suggestions would be really appreciated. So far the favourites are Tabitha (my choice but nobody else likes it), Tilly, Twiglet, Peaches or Poppy.
