    LOL!Onwards and upwards...At least it's edible!

Are you sure that the fudge recipe has flour as an ingredient?Sounds a bit strange to me....

The ice cream idea sounded nice.Maybe you could have it with custard.I don't know if it would work with banoffee pie.

ETA I've only made it once.It was nice and soft.Do you want the whole recipe,ie how to?

Not too sure about your recipe, as it has glucose in it too. Don't really want to go and buy any more sugary stuff as I still have 1kg each of demerara, granulated and icing sugar already!!!

  • I know what you mean about wanting to use up what you've got and not having to buy more stuff.

Hope that you find a use for the tablet....

Quite fancy the idea of adding tiny chunks to chocolate brownie mixture to make fudge brownies, or perhaps grind it to a powder and add a tbsp to hot chocolate mixture.... mmm......

OOOOh.....now that's a good idea. I could add wee chunks to cookies or choc muffins too. Maybe even to 15s.

Can I freeze it? Or just greaseproof paper and airtight container?

  • Oooooh! My mouth is watering. You could send your tablet to me.
Also, all donations of Fudge, Macaroon Bars and Chocolate Caramel Shortcake will be gratefully received. If you send me the Condensed Milk I'll even provide my own tin opener and spoon.

Wish me luck guys. I have people coming for dinner tonight and I am going to melt most of the tablet down and mix it with some double cream to try to make a type of banoffi pie!

    Hello,

I accidentally made my fudge very firm in the past and it was a bit too crunchy so I whizzed it up in the food processor (to make toffee/fudgey breadcrumbs) and mixed it with whipped cream for a banoffee pie. It went down a treat - "best bannoffee pie ever" according to one guest. So I suggest you whizz it up into crumbs rather than trying to melt it down, just incase it cooks even further.

    Enjoy :)

That is a great idea! I never thought of not melting it again.
Tell you what I did do though..... I whizzed some in the FP with a heaped tsp of cocoa powder, half a wee tub each of mascarpone and cheap cream cheese and used it on top of a biscuity base as a choc fudge cheesecake. It was unbelievable!!!! Went down great with my guests and enough left over for me to have for supper after they all went home!

... tablet finally has a use instead of a weapons-grade sugar delivery 'device'

    OOOOh yeah!

You see, if you mix it with some very fatty things, it goes down to your hips much, much easier. Much more effective that way as you can eat more. In it's pure form, you can feel it eating your teeth and starting up type2 diabetes as you eat!!
