Butter Tablet Recipe Please

Hi,

Done a quick search and couldn't find a recipe on here for good old fashioned butter tablet! I used to have a fabby one but lost it during a house move. It's my step dads favourite and it's his birthday in a couple of weeks so wanted to make it for him as his prezzie ...

All help greatly appreciated - thank you

Okay, I'm craving this like I can't tell you at the moment, and you can't buy the proper stuff here. So I'm not going to miss a post!

For anyone who's not sure what they can and can't post recipe copyrightwise, here's a link to Squeaky's sticky.

the thought of manipulating a bowl of boiling fat & sugar in & out of the microwave is too scary for me
I haven't made any tablet since I lost my Dundee Homecraft Book with my pet recipe in, so thanks for that :)

you could always proportionately scale up your favourite recipes to use a big tin of milk

This is the recipe that I use, its the best I've ever made. I substitute the sugar with golden caster sugar, my scottish boyfriend loves it!!

Just make sure that you beat it for about 10 minutes, otherwise it wont set.
