Good idea
I *have* solved the mystery of someone that was supposedly adopted into the family - nope... just born out of wedlock - which I what I thought might be the case (family resemblance too strong even in generations down) Nice to find confirmation of that
Cold here today - heating is on!
DS1 is now back from uni, ready for his bday later this week - along with almost 3 loads of washing......I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £207 -
I've been freezing too and had to have all the heating on!
I think there's probably quite a lot of families with that kind of story!7 -
My DS1 is home from uni to, isn't it lovely? DS2 misses him so much. Surprisingly he didn't bring any washing home this time.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off6

DS3 misses DS1 the most here, Poppycat - DS2 doesn't really care! So much washing, though - although DS1 house shares with 6 others and there's 1 WM - and people tend to leave their washing in there for a while after it's finished- I can see why he doesn't get it done often! And the majority of his housemates are girls - and I suspect they wash more often and are the culprits at leaving stuff in there... Still, it's all caught up with now
- although I am always taken aback by just how much extra demand 1 added person makes to the laundry here - I usually do 1 load a day whilst he is at uni (2 on Fridays, as I do a white wash Fri nights for all the school shirts and anything else) with maybe an extra one over the weekend every other week. I did 3 loads yesterday... thankfully all line dried except for a few heavy items which weren't in the line until the afternoon, so they just needed to finish off by the radiators last night. Oh yes - we are still having heating on twice a day - it's still chilly when people are getting up at 6am and the temperature drops quite quickly come 7pm. I'm hoping another week should see us needing it no more than 2 hours a day and it be off hy the end of the month!
I'd like it warmer for all my seedlings, too - they are getting rather large - but we still have ground frosts overnight. I will pot some of them on today and they are going outside from say 9 -6pm (unless there is hail or heavy rain!) to harden them off.
I planted 6 bags with seed potatoes yesterday (11 potatoes in total) I still have around a dozen potato growing bags left.... I might stick them on Faceb00k amd see if anyone wants them - I'm never going to grow that many potatoes in bags again! I also did a bit of weeding - not much - but short stints of weeding always make me think of @Karmacat - although KC - I know you do longer ones nowadays . DS3 swept the patio for me (sort of...) and helped me water all the pots - and then got boredI planted some cowslips my mum gave me in various places - they are prolific in her garden
😀
Last night I couldn't sleep so wrote myself a list of must do jobs - some have a very short timescale - have to be done today - others can be done over the next week. Hoping the list makes me focus and get some things done!
Went and collected DS1's 21st bday present yesterday (for tomorrow) called into the local smkt that way (40 mins away) as was there and scored some great YS reductions - I never normally go to morries as none are that closeI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £207 -

Those short stints of weeding are going to be my mse legacy, aren't they
they were a godsend for keeping things down to where the garden was salvageable, rather than out of control. My stints might be getting shorter soon - I'm aiming to cut back part of a mahonia thats only 30 degrees from the ground so I can weed under there - there's brambles and baby rhodedendrons too, its awful there. Quite energetic!

Ah, but when you do a list on your phone you can see the time and then your brain gets whirring even more because you're thinking about how many hours you've got until your alarm goes off! I write mine in the dark on bits of scrap paper 🤣Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days

Ooh -i do my list definitely on the phone in the dark - I'd have to wake up even more to write on paper! As it is, my typing in the dark leaves a lot to be desired....!!
Got some of the list done on Weds - and absolutely none of it yesterday- but it *was* DS1's 21st birthdayout for lunch, couple of garden visitors later on - and a yummy cake from pati55erie val3rie . Alllll of the carbs consumed!!
Back on the list today - with an added quick smkt trip to l1dlI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £208 -

I don't think it matters if you can read your list or where you do it - as long as you get it out of the round and round your head bit into a list parking lot!
