Thank you for DS1's bday wishes! He had as good a day as can be expected - given C0vid, he's not at uni with all his friends, he's in the last stages of his dissertation etc!
Out for a (slightly chilly!) lunch at a local independent Italian (with amazing pizzas 🍕), a gorgeous cake 🎂🍰 and a takeaway family dinner the following evening (made more sense as it was a Friday and we were stuffed from lunch on the actual day) Very much enjoyed his gaming PC that he had... and possibly a little too much since
- his dissertation date is only a week away..... 😱
Not much has been happening since - youngest greents are back at school this week and the house is slowly recovering from the Easter holsReally hoping the night time temperatures 🌙❄❄ start to increase soon, though - need to get some of these plants actually in the ground - we have lots of teeny tiny courgettes 🥒 growing on the plants and the sunflowers are really quite leggy (but skinny and sappy). They're out for daytimes now, hardening off a bit - which is a bit of a faff in itself, as I've got rather a lot of trays to carry outside every day, and then back in again!
I might try a couple of trays in the mini wooden greenhouse type thing (about chest height, wooden frame with lift up lid, doors and slatted shelves in) for the next couple of nights, and see how they get on. I'm going to get rid of it (via fr33gle if I can) after I've finished with it this year - I don't really use it nowadays, so would rather pass it on whilst it is still usable and hopefully someone can make use of it, rather than it mouldering away here
Some 'free' money wins this month so far- £10 from fb00k for selling outgrown clothes of DS3, £10 Amaz00n voucher from SnapMy3at5, another £10 Amaz00n voucher from St0reR3wards, £5 Tesc0 from Micr0s0ft rewards, £21.41 cashed out from tcb (In Tesc0 vouchers), £50 Amaz00n voucher for DH from work as a thank you for something,£10 Azda voucher from Ech0, £2.89 (went to DS3) from a flebay sale.
Things have left the house to the CS (at last!!), a couple of sales (as above), some things given away via fb00k and 0li0 and some tatty clothes have gone into the shed for recycling via HnM's recycling scheme at some point. Found some bigger items (both in size and value) to sell - if I can just motivate myself to list them when flebay have an offer onAlso have accepted that I'm never really going to do massage again (carpal tunnel in right wrist, cubital tunnel in left) so may as well finally get rid of my gorgeous couch and all the gubbins that goes with it (matching step stool, travel/ storage case, extra covers, cushions etc) - sigh.... That's not a priority, though
Have just done our CGT calculations on HMRC's site - £2.5K to pay between us - have to keep telling myself that we are only liable for it because we had the increase in value (ie: you don't pay tax without having the income first) - but it still hurts to hand it over!!Would really like to get both of the SA tax returns done, too - but still need 2 x P60s before I can do that...
Back fencing is being replaced next week - and the long side in June. Sadly not by the same person, so it won't match (the annoyance of shared boundary lines) - but at least it will all be sturdy and not falling apart!🙌
Seeing as I'm sat here still in my PJs 😲 I suppose I should really go and remedy that - it's chillier today, so it looks like it might be back to socks and a jumper weather!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £205 -
Still sounding good, greent! Very pleased for you that the cs stuff is out of the house. I had two books out to choose between: same author, same topic, job done. I need to keep going, though, one book isn't really going to cut it 🤣2023: the year I get to buy a car6

The fences not matching would annoy me as well, but no point stressing about the little things. At least they will be sturdy. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Can you stain the fences so at least they match in colour?
NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4 -
We could- but the side that won't match will be really dark brown I suspect (to match the rest of the fence the neighbours who are organising it have) - and I don't want really dark brown everywhere and suspect it will be hard to cover nicely for a few years at least. Our thinking on it is it is the side of the garden we look at least and the side access we use least - and we have some big bushes and 2 trees already in front of it - so may just plant more/ a climbing plant 😃😃. I'm sure we will stop seeing the difference after a short while, anyway so can't get too fussed, tbhI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206

Flip flops are fine outside, but indoors and the socks go on - saves all the grot from the floors sticking to your feet 🤣Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
