Ahh - that's where I love my robovac - much less grot on our floors nowadays as a result! 😆
I will pop slippers on if cold feet indoors, otherwise I like being barefoot or will happily slop around in flipflops indoors tooI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £208 -
This week is flying by! Partly to do with the fact that I was originally only working for 3 hours on Monday morning and that was it - and then after I finished on Monday (after 4 hours) I got more hours for today, tomorrow and Fri - which only left yesterday as a free day for all my plans for the week.... and that was slightly scuppered by my aunt phoning to ask to come and visit (lovely aunt, not going to say no) and then my mum coming to visit later on and also me just feeling 'off' for the day - just not 100%. Sadly I didn't get any of my plants planted out as a result - so that's now a weekend task
🌿🍅🌻🌼 Thankfully it was a dry day for visitors, though - today has been lots of heavy rain and hail! ☔☔
Last weekend's task was having the back fencing finished (well - bar an18inch gap which he's modifying a panel for) and DH cleaned and oiled the decking and I sanded, cleaned and oiled the big table - still have all the chairs and the smaller table to do, as we didin't start until after the fencing guy had left. DH also needs to do a second coat on the decking. . Both of us got sunburned - it didn't seem that warm out there! 🌞
Pay day for DH on Friday - whoop! Time for some money shufflingI had pay from school #1 today - more than I thought - didn't realise I did that many hours last month
Had to chase March's hours from school #2, though- had been totally overlooked and now I'll get them on May payday. Ah well
DS1 has submitted his dissertation today - whoop!!! 🤗🥳🙌🙌🙌 He still has some other pieces of work to submit this week/ next week and then exams in May...... but we're getting there!! DS2 has his Y10 exams this week - so it's been a bit stressy with the pair of them!! Now it's just a waiting game....
Can't believe it's May next week.... 😲😲I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -
Can't believe I still want the heating on in May!!! The rain has made the temperature really drop - I'm wearing a jumper, jeans and slippers - so it's not as though I'm dressed inappropriately! And tomorrow is meant to be even worse. Still, I made the most of yesterday and some of today - DH put another oil coat on the decking yesterday and it looks so much better. I did a 3rd coat on the table top and then sanded the legs and bottom and oiled those. I also sanded 2.5 chairs and put 3 coats of oil on the 2 fully sanded ones - it's really soaking in quickly - they don't look particularly 'done' - but I tend to neglect them and do the table all the time, so they really needed it! My aim is to do some more chairs next weekend (I have another 6.5 to sand/ oil.... and then there are 4 which have been painted - ideally I'd like to sand those back, but probably not this year. I also planted out loads of snapdragon seedlings, some cosmos seedlings and around a dozen tomato plants in individual large pots. I still have more tomatoes to do, along with all of the courgettes, 1 random strawberry and around 3 dozen sunflowers (all in individual pots and getting rather tall!) I almost fully emptied one of the compost daleks, too
All empty pots and trays have been washed and dried and returned to the shelving in the shed
I gave away my mini greenhouse via fb00k (was damaged and I don't really use it) and sold some excess potato growing bags too (I had around 20......) Quite productive - but still masses to do!
I've also boxed up 3 boxes of books for selling to Z1ff1t and Zapp3r and dropped those off at the collection point earlier on (around 45 books) and a handful of other books have gone in the CS bagQuite pleased with that - not that much money raised for us, but I know the local CS recycles lots of paperbacks it gets donated anyway. And a decent volume of items gone in one fell swoop!

Hi greent!
Sorry to hear you didn't get what you wanted done, but that is life! Your household must be mad, do not know how you are coping.6 -
It is a crazy, noisy (very!), busy house here at times, for sure! But I wouldn't have it any other wayI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206

It is blooming cold here too. We went for a walk yesterday and got caught in the rain. Called into the local pub for a drink on the way back in one of their bus shelters, but it was too cold to stay for more than one drink7

£25 win for me on PBs and £25 for DS3 (he last won in May 2020) I think that makes £225 for me since Sept 2020 - all in £25 wins
I'm almost at max holding in my name now, so will buy some in DH's name this month (he currently has none)
Spent later part of yesterday evening in A&E - DS3 had an episode whilst eating and fell off his chair. Thankfully DS2 was in the dining room with him - I had walked out into kitchen after delivering a drink (a rare occasion where we weren't all eating together - typical) and heard DS2 shouting 'are you alright?' - ignored the first one and went in to the second and 3rd shouts to see DS3 on the floor, eyes wide open but not seeing anything and muscles all in tonic constriction - apparently he groaned and just fell sideways, hitting his head quite hard at the time. I g00gled absence seizures and then did 111 online checker - which said to call 111. I ended up with a GP calling back and saying we needed to get to A&E. Eventually got checked into Paeds emergency (no files sent on by 111 to either Paeds or A&E) and obs taken - all OK. Saw a doc about 1hr 30 after we arrived (classed as amber) and then he had an ecg. All clear finally given and cleared by doc for school today - got home just before midnight. All a bit tired today! Have messaged school and his form tutor has informed all his subject teachers and HOY just to keep an eye on him today and tomorrow to be on the safe side and he is not doing after school tennis today. I'm also thankful (for once) that his school is 15 mins walk away - meaning he could have a really good lie in this morning and even then DH took him . Phew! Doc also said if it happens again can we please try and get a video of it! 😁 - wasn't exactly my initial concern last night! He seems OK, though- so hopefully not an ongoing issue... 🤞🤞🤞
Last Monday I had just work booked for that morning and nothing then until just before half term. Since then I ended up working 4/5 days last week, 4/4 this week and last night (before the above) booked work for 5/5 Fridays next week - all great and the money will be thrown at some fund (probably house reno) - but the housework is really suffering as a result!!! Thankfully I think I have the following week with nothing (unless sch 2 want some cover hours - I hope not - I turned down 1hr there yesterday- not worth my while to travel there and back for 1 hour's pay! - need min 3 ideally or 2 and I combine the trip with something else in that direction) Still - I shouldn't complain at the offer from #2 and the actual extra hours from #1 - I'm sure I'll appreciate it at the end of the monthI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £208 -

Poor little DS3! Glad to hear he's got the green light from the docs, but wow, that must have been very scary
I guess their brains and bodies struggle to integrate the growth they need to do sometimes, and it comes out in ways like that. Nephew of mine was extra tall in our tall family, not allowed to exercise at school for a couple of years after it affected his leg bones (he joined the army and saw active service, so no lasting problems!).
Excellent news on PB, though2023: the year I get to buy a car6
