Ask him for his VAT reg number as you're also registered for VAT and want to claim it back!

    Thats a good idea.

Strangely enough (not) there was no vat on the first invoice.

I don't think you can read, you can't spell.
  • You can always contact ebay about high postage, it is not supposed to be allowed, check it out.

I have seen sellers selling items at £.20 on a BIN with £5.00 postage. It is just a way of keeping their selling fees down and getting the price they want for the item.

If the item is worth the combined price then just buy it. If it's not then don't!

While I agree with the last line, this practice is fee avoidance and should not be tolerated. Remember that if there's a problem, sellers aren't obliged to refund your postage, so you'd only get 20p!

Nope, any buyer that wins a paypal chargeback will get the full costs back including post and packing. It is only ebay claims that get only item cost back, one more reason to only ever use paypal.

    He's still doing it.
I asked him for a price on 330012289017

and he said "postage is about £15. because we pack it in a box."

Maybe the box is lead lined!! :D
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

Obviously. But I was talking about ebay in general, and ebay's refund policies. Paypal doesn't always get used, as we know. While it's unwise not to pay with paypal, some of the time it's not possible and we shouldn't just dismiss those that don't / can't use it.

    - Buyer doesn't use it
    - Seller doesn't accept it
    - Seller has problem with pp account

My point still stands: sellers aren't obliged to refund your postage. UNLESS paypal make them.

If it isn't possible to pay by paypal then don't buy from people who charge excessive postage. Ebay is full of risks, I certainly wouldn't take any I didn't need to.

As for p and p if youu aren't using paypal then you are really at the mercy of the seller anyway as there is no way of getting your money back apart from an ebay claim which is going to cost £15. I always think if people are going to use other payment methods then they ought to build in their comfort level on the money they might lose.
