Maybe it's more muscle??? You have been doing the Power Plate so muscle could be a big part of the reason maybe.
Big Hugs though honey - I still haven't dared weigh in this week.It can't be that bad Tara.
It is. I've broken the 10 stone barrier (140.4lbs), and that is a big psychological blow for me. I know it's not that heavy in the grand scheme of things, but I am only 5'3" and it's almost 2 stone heavier than I should be to fit into my clothes.:(:(:(:(
It may be more muscle (I've been reading Jan de Vries' book 'Sensible Weight Loss' in which he says that this can happen but it's just that your body may be retaining more fluid, but then the fluid can magically dissipate and there *will* eventually be a loss), but I am finding it so hard to be positive right now.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Well done LIR, that is great!!!
Hopefully this is the start of a downward trend for you xo
Thanks for all your kind comments girls. I will leave it till Friday and WI again, just to see if there is any change. I'm on the PowerPlate again tomorrow, should be going this evening but I'm visiting my mum for the BH weekend and won't be back on it till next week, so I am spreading it out a bit.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

It's really not that heavy - I'm about two and a half stone heavier than you and an inch shorterBut I know what you mean, just because other people tell you it's not that bad, it doesn't stop you feeling the way you feel.
What's your target weight and is it actually the right target weight, or slightly idealistic? I can't help thinking that 8 stone is far too skinny, but do tell me if I'm wrong!
Just try and think of the positives - you're eating healthily, you've cut down on the chocolate, you exercise lots. Even if there's a temporary upward shift in weight, you must surely be getting healthier?
Lost - well done on the loss!0 -

Thanks Alex. Ideally I would like to be about 8st4lbs, and yes, I do look fine like that. At my lightest (about 7 years ago) I was about 7st10lbs, which was too thin - but now I am definitely too heavy. I carry weight badly IYKWIM - I look terrible at the minute. And all my nice clothes are currently at my mum's waiting for me to be able to wear them again!!!
Thank you for reminding me of the positives, I will keep it in mind xoGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Oh Tara, i was so sure you'd have a loss to report this week-I'm gutted for you. I've been there myself where you get on the scales all hopeful and the result really does bring you down. Why don't you give it another week doing what you're doing, really focus on what you're eating (maybe even make a food diary so you can have a real overview and see if there are any problem areas which may be holding you back) and then if you still don't lose then, maybe you need a change of tack. When I'm losing weight, I often get to the point where the weight isn't moving for a while and I have to have a rethink, maybe even for a few days, and choose another eating style (calorie counting instead of fat, totally cutting out carbs, hugely increasing water intake etc) to give it another boost. Maybe that's something you could think of doing if it doesn't work for you too?
I do think this is muscle though as you've said you can feel a change and we all know muscle weighs heavier than fat anyway. Why don't you try measuring this week too-waist, hips, thighs, chest etc to give you something else to measure against instead of purely weight?
All the best hon. You'll get there.
CG. xNew Year, New Me!!!Weight loss mission 2012 has officially begun!!:jLoss so far: 3 stone 4lbs:j0 -
Thanks for the kinds words and encouragement CG77. I am going to do as you say and just keep up the good work, nothing else for it really. If I do report a loss I will be having a party to celebrate and you are all invited!!!! Hopefully things will change soon, maybe I will try some new foods.
I had a lovely healthy couscous-and-veg lunch, with an oatcake and a few almonds as a snack. Dinner will be pasta and veg with reduced fat pesto, and then NO snacking for the evening!!!Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Oh Tara, I hope you aren't too upset, sometimes it can take a while for your body to update to the changes so give it a while. It sounds like you are really going for it with the choccy thread and the Powerplates so chin up xx.
I've lost 1/2 pound this week, I'm really feeling a lot happier but the tummy is still there but at least when it matters I can suck in in flat now!0 -
This month has been SO weird - I put on over seven pounds in the first half of the month and have now lost it again. I feel as if I have had to work so hard over the last 2 weeks just to end up back where I bl:mad::mad:dy started!!
I will definitely try harder in May - surely Mayday bank hol can't do as much damage as Easter?? At least there won't be any eggs around this weekend :T
Tara - the weight doesn't always come off when you expect it, you will probably see the benefit next week. Also, you have been eating such healthy food - your body will be benefiting from that health-wise, regardless of weight xxx0
