BF - just passing through and wanted to suggest that you get some lavender essential oil. Dilute it in an egg cup (egg cup 1/2 full of water and generous slug of lavender oil) then dab the solution onto the burn with cotton wool (OK as it is wet) or dip the burn in it.

Do this as often as you can and the blister will really improve. I've used it myself and it really works.

Hope this is some help and best wishes with everything else.

  • thanks katsu will have to try that :)

Wow... just realised that I am now living up to my name.... think this is what my hair looked like yesterday when I burnt them :rotfl:today thankfully they aren't as sore...:T

On the renting front... still don't know what to do about that????

My friend had to go through so much trouble ie getting fire doors fitted, supply electrical appliances which all had to be safety certified, smoke detectors had to be connected to the mains, fire extinguisher and fire blanket etc, certificate for the gas appliances etc....then her mortgage company told her that she couldn't rent out the property despite them giving her a verbal agreement in the first place...., they then told her that if she rented out the property on the QT then they would find out and that under the terms of her mortgage they would request that the whole balance be repaid...in the end she put it on the market and sold it that was a couple of years ago and the market is worse now.

I know that there has to be strict rules on renting out a property ie the gas/electric etc has to have passed safety standards but its money that I just don't have to fit the fire doors, smoke alarms etc...:(

Will try and ring cash * homes and see what they come up with and can either rule it out completely or if it is a decent offer then accept it :j. Could in effect take a further price drop as they cover the legal fees etc...which currently if the house sells then I am looking at paying around £4k with the estate agents costs and the solicitors...

sorry to hear that you are having a tough time selling the house. I guess at the moment everyone is trying their luck with prices and such like. do you need to sell your house now. Could you hang on a couple of years until the situation improves? Please be careful of these buying companies, you do get a very low price from them....

I don't need to sell the house as such. Yes, it is empty and I have let the mortgage fall into arrears but I have a payment arrangement with my lenders and I am paying half the monthly amount for the next 2 months. Although it is in arrears it is managable. I have moved into a rented flat and OH and I are covering the bills there...

We have the option of a) moving back into the house (3 bed semi) or b) or staying put in 2 bedroom rented flat.

    Both have pro's and con's.

the flat is cheaper...local housing authority £64.00 per week
House is £115.38 per week plus maintenance

Council tax on flat cheaper band A
    House band B

Have just re-decorated whole of flat at a cost of around £600, carpets £850 and paid for new bedroom furniture £450 and a shower of £200

House could do with a lick of paint to the bathroom, although the rest of it is really well done...has fitted bedroom furniture, has a power shower, large dining kitchen, has front garden, rear patio area and parking.

BUT lived there with !!!!!!, the mortgage is in my sole name although !!!!!! has put a charge on it....but once the divorce is absolute this comes off...:T

If I do sell the house at present there is not enough to pay off the debts...whereas if I moved back in and waited until such time that the housing market picked up would have plenty to pay off the debt and more besides....plus bigger house etc...

The original plan was to apply for LHA house thought this would take ages which would give me enough time to sell house and move into LHA property. It took 12 weeks to be offered one.

I then thought I would sell my house with e****** estate agents who said that they offered the houses for sale at a lower price to attract attention and then use the Scottish bidding system whereby peeps would bid against each other....average house sold in 23 days....great me thinks....then if house doesn't sell in that time can use cash buyers etc to buy my house...sorted...:T

The plan fell by the wayside I met my OH again, we fell in love again, he told me that I had to do whatever I felt was right for me when I didn't know what to do with regards the moving out or staying put, but as it was new relationship I couldn't tell him about all of the debt, so plumbed for the flat....thought house would sell, pay off debts end of story.....him none the wiser....

Fast forward a few months...house still not sold....living in rented flat, no further on with divorce and me facing redundancy at the end of June. OH has said will pay bills on which ever house/flat we live in and will support me/son until we can find jobs

So am back to the dilemma do we stay in flat?? Or move back to the house? And would it really be going backwards or would it be like two fingers up to !!!!!! knowing that I am living there with OH....:D

  • I emailed my divorce solicitor as it is a couple of weeks since I heard from her asking for an update on the divorce proceedings and also to advise that the sale had fallen through again. Did also ask if the charge had been lifted, still no response.....

Am feeling anxious again and the urge to run from any situation where I don't feel comfortable is back with a vengance. I am at the doctors tomorrow first thing...at the last review he thought that I had made such good progress and that I could possibly come off my medication or at least look at reducing them. But somehow I don't think this will happen just yet...

Don't feel much like onwards and upwards today more like still and sideways....:(

Big hugs and hang in there we will all be with you pushing from behind :D
Your other half is right you need to do what is right for you, I rent out a property as it's just not feesable to sell and really it's not that much trouble, , I have never been asked for fire doors or a fire blanket!! have you spoken to a letting agent to see what they think, some agents seem to make it harder than others particularly when you get them to do the work!

(((hugs))). as has been said you need to do what's right for you hun.
FWIW: It seems like throwing dead money away if you still have the house to pay for but you're paying rent on a flat too!!! Admittedly, you have just decorated the flat and spent money on it, but -on the other hand, moving back into the house and waiting for the market to improve makes sense too. Or you could rent the flat, rent the house out and still wait for the market to improve... It's your call hun and it's easy for me to say what i think i would do when i'm not in your position.
We're all here for you whatever you decide!! x

  • thanks for all the messages of support...thought that I had ranted on and on...

Went to the doc's this morning for my review...I told him that the anxiety attacks had returned and then I told him about my job, the house selling then not, then selling then not and about the horrible stuff that !!!!!! had put on the divorce papers etc...Doc said this was barstewards attempt to still try and control me , then said no wonder your having the attacks again, he has increased my medication from 30mgs to 45mgs and wants a review in another month. Doc said that it will help me to sleep better, which in turn will help me on a day to day basis as will feel more able to cope...

My DS has gone to stay at his dad's for a few days so will give some time for me to discuss should we/shouldn't we move back in with my OH. I know my son's feelings and know that he wants to move back into our former home....we lived there for 9.5 years so it is very much 'home' for him. Only trouble is that my DS is at an age where he will be shortly leaving college (June) and is 18 (July) this year. His dad is a farmer who lives 100 miles away and he is keen for DS to join him as eventually the farm will pass to him.

My DS has also just split up with his g/f and might not even come back from Dad's and stay down there and be working with him on the farm...

On a plus note...I have listed my sofa and it has 2 watchers, plus I had some antique wooden drawers and that has 2 watchers too so thats something else I can cross of my to do list for March..:T

Just need to get motivated enough for the wii fit ......:rotfl:
