    All ages. Free admission.
The Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge displays world-class collections of art and artefacts from all over the world. Objects ranging from stone tools and pots to sculptures and paintings represent cultures and histories over millennia, and great recent and contemporary works reflect the diversity of peoples worldwide. MAA’s collections span nearly two million years of human history, on all six inhabited continents, and together with rich documentary and photographic collections, they reveal much about not only archaeology and anthropology, but also about world art and world history.
Among highlights are important collections from the voyages of Captain Cook, a great Haida totem pole, and rich Roman and Anglo-Saxon collections from Cambridge and the surrounding region. Our oldest object is a 1.8 million year old stone tool from Olduvai Gorge, whist the newest are made by contemporary artists. MAA is particularly known for its innovative exhibitions that draw contemporary artists into dialogue with its historic collections, and a temporary exhibition space allows us to showcase communities and themes that emerge from the vast collections of nearly one million objects.

We go to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery quite a bit. Its free, the inside is just amazing to walk round and its child friendly. Beautiful too and would recommend to anyone wanting a day trip.
We usually get round in four hours inclusive of tea and a lovely slice of home made cake
The caf! is very good- and serves proper tea in enamelled tea pots . Big comfy chairs and very reasonably priced food..

Not been myself - but my friends little one loved it.
Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"
