  • I Think so
  • Please don't call me an idiot/fool/imbecile/etc, as I am sure I can read properly and, as I understand it, the T&C state that Easy Mobile will charge £5 for cancelling if you want excess credit returned. Otherwise, there is no mention of any cancellation fees or charges.
My account had £5.31 of 'free' credit left on it (which I did not want back). I cancelled my account. WHOP! Account instantly £2.02 in the red. I have checked my statement and it now says "£7.33 bonus withdrawal". Now where the *ell did that come from?
I now have 72 hours to pay this or they charge me another £5.
I think this is scandellous and surely illegal(?), or have I missed an obvious paragraph in their T&C somewhere?

I was going to ask the same question please anyone, is there anyway of buying goods etc with phone credit either premium rate texts/calls wap etc normally I wouldnt touch them with a bargepole but with so much free credit that I will never use it would be good moneysaving to get something extra from it. Thanks in advance

I've been using mine on allofmp3 and winks, etc, for my MSN Messenger.

I'm a little worried now though that it might be difficult to cancel the sim without having to pay some penalty - can anyone enlighten me?

If you had taken the credit below £5 you would have been OK, I am too reading about this but as I don't have phone registered yet I just want to know for the future.

Dont forget to contact them and remove the direct debit/auto credit thing, or what ever it is called.

OK, this is a general quidco question...

If you order any product through quidco then cancel, do you still get paid? I can see nothing in the t's & c's about contract lengths or minimum stay??

I'm only asking because I have a few quidco's that I would rather cancel now and keep things simple (ie easymobile and AOHell)

    Thanks for any useful advice..

But their T&C say they charge £5 to refund any credit over £5, so I would have lost a fivers worth at most. So where did £7.33 bonus withdrawal come from?
And my credit was only the freebie stuff which is none returnable anyway.
  • OK, Panic over. I have been in touch with their customer service and they say it was a mistake and have refunded my account back to £0.01, which is fine. However, I wonder what would have happened if I had not challenged it?
She said it was a mistake that rarely happens to customers, but I am not so sure after reading these forums. She could offer no explanation as to where the amount "£7.33" came from and it seems odd to just charge a random number, so it must have been calculated somehow.???
All my family are using Easy Mobile sims, so we will wait and see what happens when each of these get cancelled.

So in effect you've been charged £5.30 to close your account? Very confusing.
