Hasn't it been hot today? I went out at 6.30am and it was too warm even then! But I managed to do Week 5 run 1, was gobsmacked I actually managed all three 5min runs! I was sooo pleased especially as it took me two weeks to master week 4!

BTW it took ages for my beetroot head to go away!

So well done to all those who ran today in the heat !!

Huge well done to those running in the hot[/B sunshine today and yesterday! It took all my energy to get from the sunlounger to the fridge :p;)

    Everyone's doing really well :j:j:j

Drea - good idea to take a break for a week. And pls don't think I'm being pushy, but try not to take too much time off as you know how easy it is to fall off the wagon. You've come a long way (literally!) and you know you want to reach that 5k!!!!! Btw, I must have missed the post about your mum. How nice. My mum is 100 times fitter than me and she's 64 :o

Teachergirl - your post made me laugh :rotfl: Esp with the floral hat. I can imagine it being the kind of hat you would potter around in the garden in!! Why don't you run with your dog? My view is it kills 2 birds with one stone - walk the dog and get a run in. Although I only run where I can let my dog off the lead, because if I ran with him on the lad, he would pull me over!! There's this lady who lives round here, and I see her running along the streets with 2 huskies tied to this waist belt thing. I'm so jealous that she can do that!!!

69chick - prefer running outdoors. But only at the park! It's easier to control your speed. I would have no idea what speed to et the treadmill at!!

    Gosh, isn't it humid tonight???

^Humid?! It's cold and wet here. Such a change from the absolutely red hot weather yesterday!

I've just done wk7 run 2 and it felt great. I came home looking like a drowned rat, but nevertheless... I did it, and I did an extra couple of minutes to get me back up the hill.

Drea - enjoy your week of rest, sounds like you need it... hopefully you'll start running again with renewed enthusiasm.

Sammy_girl would love to be able to take my dogs on the run but they are old and both have heart conditions (cavalier king charles...rescue dogs)So despite the fact I am very slow they are even slower unless there is a rabbit around. Then I worry that they will have a heart attack whilst chasing them. I use them as my gentle warm up:)
Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D

aaah, love them. They sound cute :)

How have they been in the heat? Mine hasn't liked it one bit - he's been all moochy and slept a lot (in the shade)!!

It is seriously stuffy and humid here. I'm sweating just sitting here! Bedroom window open tonight I think!

Good luck for those running tomorrow :)

I am off again. I am ill!!!! I lost my voice and have a cough, which doesn't help. I think i need to take some time off to recover from this and then get back to running. I hope that I will be back soon - maybe end of this week, maybe early next week?..

Don't worry, I know, I'm being very careful to give myself a time to get back to it (Saturday) and will definitely be back running :)

My mum took it up a few weeks back, she did post here but has disappeared from the thread. MUM, COME SAY HELLO!!!

Random question, where do you live Sammy?

Ok so I did week 6 run 2 again this morning, felt really tired before doing it though and have no idea how I'm going to manage the 25 minute run that is week 6 run 3 :-(. It was really hot in the gym as well. On the plus side when I took my dog for a walk this morning I saw a deer crossing the road - a special thing to see.

Well done to all the runners in this weather :T I will be going for my run this afternoon when I get in from work....I am still feeling quite motivated which is good for me...usually if I start an exercise class/swimming etc. like I have in the past, I am usually a bit fed up after a wee :o and will find myself at work wishing I didn't have to go, but I don't feel like that about my run :) - I will probably regret saying that when I get on to further weeks that involve a lot more than running for 3 minutes at a time :rotfl:

Good idea Drea to say you will do your run on Saturday, then if you are really not up to it you could set another day...
