Just back and showered from my wk3 run1 and I manged it fine (was really nervous about running for 3 minutes) only thing was that I hadn't looked properly at the timings so ended up walking for a lot longer as it is now walk then cool down iykwim...

Thanks for the advice about slowing my running down, I did do this today and it definitely helped.

I really feel great today, it was my turn for a lie in and normally I would only just be getting out of bed feeling groggy...I have even put a summer skirt on :rotfl:

Mumto2 what's wrong with being motivated by cake and wine, my motivation today was the lovely cooked breakfast that dh is now cooking yum...

Think I might nip to the sports shop for some jog bottoms now too as mine are quite thick so could do with some lightweight ones (am definitely not ready and nor is the world for me in shorts!)

On the subject of time to run, I think my best day is my weekend run first thing in the morning, but during the week I do it after work so for me it is when I can fit it in...

Have a lovely day all x

This mornings run wasn't the best for lots of reasons most of them not to do with running. I walked the dogs at 6.30am it was hot. Yesterday I am sorry to say I got very burnt putting a gazebo up for my parents so they can sit in the shade. The man in the shop said it was a 45 minute job...try 2 and a half hours:mad:
So at 7.30am when I was about to go for my run I decided I needed a hat. I could only find a blue and white flowery sun hat which did not exactly go with my running gear. I also have old fashioned earphones that go over the top of my head...really not a good look. Still me thinks , no one will see me. On arriving at the gate who did I see but my dog walking friend with one of her friends. I was so embarassed I waved and broke into a near sprint:o up the small hill. Once out of sight I slowed down to my normal pace but by then I was already hot and sweaty . Not a good look. Later on, there is a choice turn off the sea wall and go back, the route I normally take or carry on the sea wall for a bit. I decided to try this to see how much further it was. Just as Robert said "you have now finished your run" I passed a jetty full of water skiers, so I had to keep running for another 4 minutes till I was out of sight again:eek: The new route would add another 1.1 miles to my run. Anyway it didn't feel too bad. I did have to blow my nose twice so I guess the extra running made up for it:o
    So all in all I did it...I think:jWeek 9 run 2.
Good luck to anyone running today.

oh er and I didn't even mention my shorts were sticking out at odd angles because my I Pod is built like a brick (pretty old) but comes with a handy case but the only place to clip it onto is my shorts, and the small pocket was stuffed full of tissues. :p
Might have to go earlier than ever:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

thanks for the pants recommendation (lol, you know what I mean) - I'm not sure I could wear anything lycra/clingy though, not with my thunder thighs :S I was looking for cropped jogging pants... I saw some nice ones in Debenhams Pineapple range. Might treat myself to them if I don't see anything elsewhere.

teachergirl, I don't know whether to laugh at your ordeal or not:rotfl::o glad to hear you finished your run though, well done :T

Completely Lost - I use the Runtastic App on my IPhone. It's the basic free app but very good. It even has a 5k run, so it will tell you when you have reached 5k.
I know this might be a stupid question, but how does it know when you've done 5k? Do you have to set your speed and stick to it, or does it have some sort of GPS system built in?

edit - just found out the answer! Now I really want an iphone.

    Well done 69chick and teachergirl.

Wow - it's hot out there. I did my 5k - more stops than normal as DD came on her bike again, but we did it :j:j Not worrying too much about the time as know it would be different if I did it by myself with my music on.

Teachergirl - I'm very envious of your route along the sea - sounds so much more appealing than pavements & exhaust fumes :)
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

So I hadn't managed to run since last Sunday due to working ridiculous hours and in general just being worn out from the lack of sleep. I had jumped forward a week last week so I decided to see if I could do week 6 run2 today - managed it and think will do the same again next time and save run 3 for my 3rd run this week. I still haven't run outside yet its all been in the gym.
