Well done all!!! I am so amazed all those who manage to run with no breaks now! (And at all others on the way to there).

All your "complaining" about running slow makes me feel better. I run in the gym, and always set up my treadmill for 7.5km/h, max up to 8km/h. Which means, that in 28 min I would do 3.5-3.7km.

I was thinking after I finally reach the end of this program, start at week 1 again, but this time set the running speed at 10-11km/h. And build it up that way to become faster runner. Will have to think about it when I reach there, which at the moment seems impossible.

I went to the gym last night, and only managed one 10min run, although I was supposed to be doing 25min (Week 6, Run 3). Probably because I had no food, was angry with OH and very soar throat. I kept having what my previous doctor called 'panic attacks' (when I basically can't breath deep enough to have enough air and start gasping like a fish). I know they are not panic attacks (I get them at any time of the day, even just before I fall asleep!), but I didn't ask my new doctor (who is very nice) about this. (Oh, here we go again - they are back this morning)

GRRRRRR:mad: posted a really long post and then the computer froze and I lost it.
Firstly a simple question. I have set this to instant e-mail notification but I only get them if I have logged on first. Is this right? Sometimes I think noone has posted and then I get on and have lots of catching up to do:o

Welcome to all the newbies. It really is possible. In February I started this programme and I really really struggled with week one. This morning I did week 9 run 1.:j:j:j:j:j:j
It feels unbelieveable. It was really hot so I thought I would go really slow. I have a heart monitor and I never manage to keep in the right zones so I tried hard to keep in zone 2 which feels really really slow. After awhile I hit zone 3 and I could not get my heart rate back down so I just ignored it. I past the post where I finished week 8 and kept going and going and going. By the time I had finished I was nearly back to the gate where I enter the footpath. I ran so much further than last week I don't know how that happened because I thought I had slowed down. In total I did 2.9 miles but that includes the warm up walk and the warm down walk so I still have some speeeding up to do.
completelylost you are doing really well. mumto2 you are doing fab . Come on Drea no more excuses. We can graduate together:D I will if you will;)

Right then, tonight I WILL be out! If it gets hot like it did yesterday I might wait until it cools down at night but I won't allow myself a glass of wine until I've done it :rotfl:

And I'm going to be determined too, you lot are spurring me on ;)
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.
  • Wow!

    It's hot out there! J

ust been out for my second run. Not sure how it's physiologically possible but it was definitely easier than the first - I could still breathe after 60 secs running!

Walking up the stairs to my front door was a bit of a challenge mind you!

We're away for the weekend so probably won't be able to go out again until Monday but that should give my legs a chance to recover.

Thank you all for starting this thread!

Morning all...Managed to do my wk 2 run 3 yesterday but I have a question...I am finding it quite hard to run for the 90 seconds :o mainly because of my ankles, they get really sore whilst I am running and still hurt during my walk...it is like a sore tensed up feeling (as if something might snap ) Have any of you experienced this? I don't remember them being like this on wk 1! it is making me think that there is no way I could run for longer periods :( DH just said they should get better as I go along, which I am hoping for but just wondering if any of you had this? and if it gets beter? I have tried to concsiously (sp?) relaxe them as I run but this doesn't seem to help...

Drea...you go girl, will be checking on here to see how you went x

Well done kentishdoris, don't worry by the way about aching legs..in my first week when I did my second run my legs were still sore from the first but I did it anyway and they were actually better after and the following day!! Enjoy your weekend away x

ginsvt, that sounds horrid (those attacks) sending hugs....running 10 minutes though to me sounds fantastic, I am only hoping that I can get there at some stage...

69chick I know we keep going on about it here but have you tried going slower? Then building up. It might help. However slow you think you are going you probably can go slower.

Thanks for the tip Teachergirl, :A do you think that might be it? I don't feel like I am going fast or anything....Yesterday I ended up not being finished when I got to the point that I come away from the canal so I walked my 2 minutes then when it said to run, I ran back and got to the point at 1 minute so I guess that means I am running at twice the speed of my walking...would you say that I could go slower?

I will definitely try it anyway to see if that helps....

Good luck to all of you running today - it's really hot here today so if it's the same where you are - don't forget the sunscreen :)

Come on then, Drea. I'm due to go out tonight as well (wk8, run 2 - I think!). Hubby out last 2 evenings, so def have to go tonight as last one was Monday.

Problem is, really fancy a bbq and the above mentioned glass of wine. It's really tricky, having to wait for someone to look after the kids :p

Repeat after me - we must go running tonight, we must go running tonight, we must .......

    Lets see if it works!
    Now proud Mumto3 :j
