    Hi all,

I came across this discussion last night for the very first time whilst browsing all the possible ways I might think about getting fitter - I'm definitely starting from the couch.

Anyway, it sounded like this might not be an impossible thing to do so I downloaded the first podcast and have just come back from my first run!

Never has 17mins and 51secs (that's what my MP3 player said it would be) felt like such a long time - I think I'll be one week one for a couple of weeks before attempting week 2 but I did it and am now feeling hot bothered and rather proud of myself!

In fact I almost can't wait until Friday and my second run :)

69chick and u01jet4, maybe try a pair of running capri trousers like these if u dont have ones like these? They have a zip pocket at the back that you could put your iPod in and theyre comfy to run in?

I recommend these type of running pants - they're ace!! I got a Nike Dri Fit pair from Sports Direct for £16

Hello stranger :D Now, the rules are, you have to stick to the podcast, and make sure you go out 3 times a week. If you can't get out on a particular day, don't worry. Make sure you come back on here, don't be embarrassed about it, we've all had off days. But you need the motivation from all of us to keep going!!!

^^^^^ That goes for all newbies :D

On that note, I didn't do my Week 8 Run 2 today :o Time of the month and I didn't have the right supplies this morning :o But I will try my best to get out tomorrow. I will finish this programme, even if its the last thing I do!!!

Drea and Mumto2 - you're both doing great on Week 8. Yoou've both done 28 min, so you know it is possible. When we finish the 5k, we can start on the 8k or 10k, then it's back to intervals again :T

    Keep it going :)

That's what I was thinking, looking forward to being back to intervals :rotfl:

Good luck on your run tomorrow, I should be doing mine tomorrow but might chicken out ;) will see.

Welcome to all the new folks :D

    Evening,

I went out yesterday and did 2x10 min runs (wk 6 run 2 I think), slowly but managed it.

Went out tonight just because it's a lovely evening and I might not be able to run tomorrow... I thought I had the week 6 podcast on my mp3 player but could only find week 7 (25 mins... so the same as wk 6 run 3 really) and guess what?? I did the full 25 minutes without stopping

I honestly can't believe it, given that I didn't even do the 20minutes on wk5. So pleased :j I don't know where the energy came from tbh!
