CompletelyLost wrote: »Evening,
I went out yesterday and did 2x10 min runs (wk 6 run 2 I think), slowly but managed it.
Went out tonight just because it's a lovely evening and I might not be able to run tomorrow... I thought I had the week 6 podcast on my mp3 player but could only find week 7 (25 mins... so the same as wk 6 run 3 really) and guess what?? I did the full 25 minutes without stopping
I honestly can't believe it, given that I didn't even do the 20minutes on wk5. So pleased :j I don't know where the energy came from tbh!
Well done :T:T :j
Knew you could do itand now that you know you can it might make the rest a bit easier

I do hope so
It's amazing how it picks you up when you actually manage to do the distance. I couldn't believe it when he said there was one minute to go until I'd done 25.
What happens when we reached 5k though? I will miss this thread.
I think you're about a week ahead of me so you must be near the end now - shows how much I have been slacking (well not slacking, just repeating some runs), as I'm sure we started at pretty much the exact same time? I read about your leg giving way the other day too - I think it's a common thing. My brother says it has happened to him before (and he is very fit, 10k is nothing to him).

I was thinking I'd maybe go on to the 5k to 10k plan... only once I'm comfortable with the 5k though which might take a bit of time! I miss my intervals :rotfl:Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

wow drea, i really admire you guys for making to the 5k, i didn't realise there was another plan to get to 10k, that sounds like it could be hard!
i'm trying to motivate myself to go out and do w3r2 but the motivations just not happening at the moment.

But yeah, I don't think I have anymore interval runs left now so am panicking a little... Where is the 5-10k plan? Are there podcasts for that plan too?
I mapped yesterday's run and found out that I did approx 2.2 miles in 25 mins so my slowness is probably the reason I managed to finish! My left leg is aching today though.
Vicki, the podcasts are alright. The music is dire, but I use them because it's easier than using the stopclock on my mobile. There are times when I wish I could strangle the guy though... especially when you feel like you've been running for about three week then he tells you you're only halfway through a 25 minute run!:mad:0 -

The 10k plan was posted on here a while back, I'll look for it a bit later. I did 2.2 miles in 28 minutes last time so I'm slower than youJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

Do any of you run in MBT's, Reebok Easy tones or the Fitflop trainers?
I was looking at the MBT site yesterday and it says you can run in them, just wondered what it was like?
I have both MBTs and Reebok Easytone trainers.
The Easytones are fine to run in, they are like normal trainers but have airpods in the sole so feel quite bouncy. I run in them all the time.
The MBT website says MBTs are OK for running in, but really they are not, they are very heavy and bulky and the sole is very thick, which forces you to run in a rolling motion (they have video on the site showing you how to run in them). But this means that running is a slower, more intensive process in MBTs. I would recommend them for walking only.0 -

Just checked my last run and it was 2.24 miles in 28 mins. Gutted when I made it into kms as I thought I was running 4kms a session and it's only 3.6kms. Going to seem a long way on Sunday!!
Edit - just realised that sounds really fed up. Of course, I'm thrilled that I can run all that way, when 7 wks ago couldn't run up the street. It soon will be 4kms, won't it.Now proud Mumto3 :j0
