well done cookiemum! i've just completed week 2 this morning but i don't think i'm ready for week 3 yet. i've found week 2 quite hard but maybe it's because the conditions weren't right (had already walked 2 mile home before doing this mornings run).
i'll see on monday how i feel about week 3 then.

Just popping in to say hello, I'm off on my hols at the minute and alas the running has gone by the wayside - in Italy and it's very hilly! But have managed a couple of hillwalks which is keeping the fitness levels up. Suspect I'll be back at week 8 again when I return. Hope you're all doing well :)

Week 7, Run 3 done :D started off really bad but I think it was all in my head because I didn't do it the time before. Got better after I realised the half way mark came sooner than I expected.

Should be going onto week 8 now (28 min runs) but don't think I'm ready for that, week 7 is killing me ;)

Well done everyone, keep going :)

You just beat me to it, Drea!
Wk 7, run 3 done :D Went ok. Am behaving myself and have gone back to the Podcasts. Didn't run as far as I had the previous 2 runs, but also didnt' come back as red in the face :p

Of course we are ready for Wk 8, Drea. Might go on Sunday night, depending on how things go.

Well done to all the newbies - we're all doing great :T:T:T

Thanks for all the kind wishes for my mum - she's doing great! Hard to believe she's had such major surgery, was climbing stairs with her physio today :j Home on Monday :j
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

Are you sure we're ready?

A man on a bike stopped me running to ask where the nearest cycle paths were... I must have looked like a sporty person :rotfl:

    ...I didn't know though.

Does anyone else here use a GPS to measure how fast they are running? My husband has one for running and I have been using it but I am so slow and I feel like I cant run any faster :( I can do 5k now, did it on wed night so am really chuffed but would like to run faster, took me nearly 34 minutes

    Hello :)

Well, today I did Week 7 Run 3, and out of the whole week this was the best one :j I credit my new running gear! Was so excited to see my running pants have got a small zipped pocket on the waistband just above my bottom, which is the perfect size for ipod and car key. Then held dog lead and poo bag in my hand :D

So, I should be moving onto Week 8 Run 1 on Monday, but I'm not convinced. I'm like Drea - the 25 min run kills me, let alone 28 min

Teerah - I use the Runtastic app on my ipod. Today's stats were:

    Distance - 2.27 miles
    Duration - 35m 33s
    Max Speed - 8.53mph
    Avg Speed - 3.82mph
    Avg Pace - 15:41 min/mi
    Calories - 368

The above does include my 5 min warm up and 5 min warm down. So i think on my next run, I will only use it for when I'm running, and not the walking.

Mumto2 - Congrats on your run! You two are overtaking me lol

BelfastGirl - Hope you're having a great hols. I wouldn't worry too much about the running - you're still getting some exercise in.

Well done to everyone else - too many to mention!!!! Everyone's doing so well. So much motivation!! Keep it going :)

Morning all, just popped on to say have completed wk 2 run 1 this morning...It definitely felt a bit tougher running for the whole minute and a half to start with :rotfl:but to be honest it was fine, although I noticed that my breathing was a bit harder..

belfastgirl Italy !! lucky you, those hill walks sound great..

Hope you are all having a good weekend x
