Drea - Don't worry!!! You ran for 21 min :j

We all have our good days and our bad days. Just wait til Friday and try the run again. You've changed your trainers as well so they prob take some getting used to.

21 minutes is not far off 25 minutes - you can do it.

Evening, so I still haven't tried wk5 run3 (20 mins) yet BUT I am slowly working my way up to it.

    Today I did
    9min run
    4 min walk
14 min run (I didn't plan to run for so long, I just kept going past 8-mins until I couldn't go any further).

So overall I'm doing more than 20 mins running, but I still feel like I need a break in between (or do I? is it all in my head? I'm just scared of that 20min run...).

It's all in your head :)

That's why the Ullreys podcasts are good - they're more like contiunous music so you hav no idea how long you're running for. If you have distinct songs you can guess each is bout 4 mins and try to add it up, or if you know the songs you may know song length better. You might also know your route and start thinking "yesterday I struggled here" and then you make it hard again.\

So yeah, find a bribe. Do you want new shoes, headphones, socks, mp3 player, chocolate? When you run 20 mins you can have it.

Well done on your first run MinniMe!! And a huge well done to everyone else too:j

I did my second week 4 run today and still had to stop in the last five minute run, but this time instead of counting to 60 , I counted 30 seconds . So I figure this is an improvement:D. I really pushed myself for that last minute (like he said;)) and it wasnt as bad as on tuesday so I must be getting better.
I need to figure out how to concentrate on something other than the running because at the moment all that is going on in my head is .."come on, keep going..just a bit further....ouch.... etc , etc". I want to be able to switch off ...but I suppose that will come (I hope!):D

And what is going on with the music with the last run?

I also need to re-think my route because I am now having to double back and run the same way almost twice . This also means that I am going almost twice as far as in week 1 so it is spurring me on:j.
