I completed Week 3 Run 3 today (should have been yday but was shattered so skived out of it!) so will be Week 4 Run 1 for me on Thursday if I get up before work. No excuses not to really seeing as I don't start till 12 on a Thursday! Been finding it quite manageable so far but still trying to get my breathing right, it seems ok till I start thinking about it then it gets all uneven!

Drea I hope you get another shot in your new trainers and socks tomorrow!

    xx

    Thanks all!

So, I did get to the gym last night with the intention to do W6R2. Unfortunately, my hip is aching - I tried to push through it and did the first 10min, but then had to give up - I don't want to make as bad as I had a few years back, when I could barely walk for 3 weeks! I tried cross-trainer, did another 10 min, and had to stop altogether for the day. Still, better than nothing.

I am going to have 2 days of rest now hoping that my hip will recover and if all ok will be back to W6R2 on Friday.

Thanks all for you nice messages and support - it is not easy, but then life never is!

So bum is still a little sore but have tested it running about my room :rotfl: and I'm going to run tonight regardless. Have my banana with me (teachergirl ;))

ginczt - Good luck with your appointment. I hope everything goes well for you.

    Hi all,
My mums heart op went well yesterday. Very long day, now frustrated as they've got such short visiting hours. Going this afternoon.

Due to run today, but might give myself an extra rest day. Bit stiff after going overboard on Mon nights run, then more or less sitting down all day yesterday - not used to that.

While mum was having op, I walked to a running shop in Oxford and treated myself to some new shoes. They have got support on the inside - apparently I'm one of the ones whose feet roll inwards;). They are still in the car boot, as can't get any enthusiasm to look at them. Hoping once I see my mum with less wires, machines etc I'll be a bit more up beat about it.

Drea - get your bum out there and run :rotfl:
Bertibots - doesn't matter where I am, it's that you are still doing it that counts :T
Ginvst - good luck, fingers crossed that you get good news
    Well done everyone else
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

Week 2 Run 2 competed last night. Not too stiff today so hopefully next run tomorrow.

I ran at night for the first time with DD on her bike. Wasn't as bad as I thought although I did get a few strange looks from the neighbours.

Mumto2 - pleased your Mum's op went well. My Mum had a big operation last year and until it happens you aren't aware of the stress on the rest of the family. It sure makes you appreciate your health and your friends and family.

Ginvzt - Good luck at the docs.

Enjoy the sunshine ( between the rain showers) :)

Glad the op went well :) I'm sure she'll recover well.

What kind of shoes did you get?

My bum will be out tonight, don't want to slack off for too long or I'll never go back to it :rotfl:

Any room for a new joiner?

I have been thinking about getting back into exercise for a while now but have finally found the motivation - the time is right! Today is a fresh start for debt and me!

I have had a look at the plan and think I can manage. I have problems with one of my feet but am hoping if I build up slowly I can do it.

Will attemot W1 run 1 this evening !

Went for my 1st run last night with my friend who has been doing it for about 5 weeks. She sped ahead and I did run 2 lamposts, walk 2 lamposts. Struggled quite a bit as I havnt done any exercise for years.
Just a general ache this morning. I felt really self concious as if everybody would be looking at me as they drove past but they aren't bothered are they?
Have walked to the shops today instead of taking the car and will try and fit a little run in again tomorrow.
