Hi all....Bertiebots I am doing my wk 1 run 2 tonight, I am like you that I can't imagine myself running for any length of time (was pretty ready to stop after just 1 min) but am taking inspiration from all of you on this programme that it might be possible...
Will report back tonight...oh just one thing, my legs are pretty sore today from my first run on Sunday...every time I get up from my desk I am like 'ouch' so I am hoping that I will be able to run, am going to go for it anyway...
Ah I think we all had the Week 1 painafter the first run my legs ached but wasn't so bad after the second (the run seemed to help somehow) and from then onwards there hasn't been any pain afterwards apart from slightly stiff legs if it's been a tough run. That side of things definitely gets better

Thanks for the comments about the sore achy legs.. fingers crossed my body can be trained! One thing I am plesed about is my trainers were really comfy on my run, nice and light and no rubbing (so far)..Starting with Avon C6 target sales £150.000

I managed the both 3 min runs ok and did 4mins 50 secs in the first 5 min run but could only manage to do the last 5 mins in two parts!! Shall try again on Wed, all being well. Goodness knows how you all run for 25mins or so!!!I've got week 4 run 1 in the morning and don't mind saying I'm nervous. It seems like quite a jump from week 3 to week 4.
I know, it seems like such a jump, but then you kind of just keep going - I was going to go back to week 3, but I have just stuck with week 4 even though I am running much slower to be able to last through it! I take longer recovery times than he suggests too, just to give myself that bit of extra energy. I'm now worried about going onto 8 min runs ... and the dreaded 20!!! Think I'll stick with week 4 for a bit longerCouch to 5K Running 2009/2010/2011

I am going back to gym tonight... Will be attempting Week 6 Run 2, if my hips will hold up. I know I should have a day of rest in between the runs, but I need to lose those few kg quickly, and I enjoy running.
Might do some cross-trainer afterwards, if not dead completely. Any tips how can 'grow' some 2cm in two days without high heels?...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

I did C25K a couple of years ago - managed to be able to run 5k regularly and then had a couple of months off due to flu complication - tried too hard too soon to come back - hurt my hips and knees and gave up.
Fast forward 15 months and I started again from scratch. I was no fitter than last time I tried but I knew I could do it because I'd done it before. I just did my first 20 minute run this week (Week 5 Run 3). Week 4 Run 1 I was still doing the 3 and 5 min runs.
You can do it if you have confidence. Run slower than usual so you don't get out of breath................... and cheat like I did by running slightly down hill for the whole 20 minutes. It really gives you a boost when you succeed. Good Luck!
ETA: I run on the roads obviously, not some kind of downward sloping treadmill

Wow guys, you've all been busy. Well done :j
I too had achy legs during the first week, but it didnt last. Am now on Week 7 :j
I also remember my first run - Week 1 Run 1. I go to the eighth interval (I think) and thought I wouldn't be able to finish it. But I did, albeit completely knackered!!! And here I am on 25 minute runs. So trust me if I can do it, everyone can do it - it just needs determination and the will to succeed.
Ginzvt - Good luck with your Dr's appt. I hope you manage to loose the couple of kgs you need. I know how picky Dr's can be (and how hard ttc is).
Happy running all0 -
Well, my bum is still too sore so no run again today
it's frustrating, I want to try out my new socks :rotfl:
I'll run tomorrow if it kills me!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Hello again. I did not run on Sunday because it was freezing cold and rainy here and i did not want to get ill again. It was freezing again today and I had to fit my run in between the window cleaner ,the Tesco delivery and the children coming home from school. (avoiding the route that would go along where my sons school bus stops:o)
I welched out of a full 25 minute run and instead went for two ten minutes with a three minute walk imbetween. The first ten minutes was a breeze and I was 8 minutes into the second ten minute run when the plasterer phoned, I consider this a lucky break as I was beggining to struggle a bit. Hope to be back to full strength by Friday.
Drea did it all on a bannana for lunch and thought of you;)
Ginsvt hope the Docs goes O.K.. Perheps if you mention all your running they might be a bit lenient with the BMI?
Welcome to all the newbies and well done to everyone else. You are all doing so well.:jEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -
