Oh, Sammygirl, just snuck ahead of you now. Wk7,Run2 tucked away. Only problem is, I'm getting a little carried away. Because I've ditched Mr Ullrey and done timed music (with a cool down song at the end), I just get overcome with the urge to run to my house (much to my neighbours amazement tonight!). Have been on mapmyrun and did 4.3kms, so nearly there. Need to find a slight add on to my circuit.

Teerah - sounds really silly to write it, but I have an imaginary gear leaver which I pull when I get near hills :o:o:o I've only started doing them this week (can't avoid them now it's continous running).

:o:oJust thought, I'm not sure I change gears when I go downhill though :rotfl:

    Have fun everyone
Do you still do your cool down walk? You shouldn't just stop running, sit down and have a cup of tea.

Good point, Juno. I think I've got carried away in all the excitment. I do lots of stretches when I get home. Haven't had any problems with stiffness the day after so far.

As for sitting down with a cup of tea - fat chance in this house! :rotfl:
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

Has anyone got a nike+ipod thingy? I wondered if anyone knows how to calibrate them?

I am not a super runner did the liverpool womens in 65 mins ha ha thought I was ggoing to do it in 56mins, but clearly my ipod isnt measuring the distance properly.
well done to everyone getting themselves out there, it is hard some days to motivate myself.

I don't normally post in here but thought I might be able to help out. I got a nike+ for Christmas and have been using it regularly, I love it! Admittedly I let my boyfriend set it up and calibrate for me (far too technical for me, haha) but I seem to remember that you need to have the nike+ plugged into your comp, hit the calibrate button, run a set distance with your nike+ (use mapmyrun website to measure) and then plug the nike+ back into your comp afterwards and adjust the distance it recorded so that it matches the distance you ran. After that it will record your runs more accurately. Hope that helps :)

Gosh you have all been busy!:T
I come back after almost a week and so many newbies too so welcome!!
Mumof2 didnt we start on the same week?...you are putting me to shame:p

I wasn't very motivated by the end of last week, had terrible pms! So I didnt do my 4th week 3 run as planned:o.
I decided to do week 4 run 1 today and OMG!! I managed to do all the runs (quite pleased I had done a whole 5 mins:D)...until I got to the last 5 minute run and I had to stop half way through and walked for about 60 seconds, then set off again and it nearly killed me:eek:
But I did it. I never thaught last week I would be able to do one 5 minute run . The first 3 minutes actually felt quite easy even though it felt like torture last week:)
    Bring it on....:rotfl:

Hi all....Bertiebots I am doing my wk 1 run 2 tonight, I am like you that I can't imagine myself running for any length of time (was pretty ready to stop after just 1 min) but am taking inspiration from all of you on this programme that it might be possible...

Will report back tonight...oh just one thing, my legs are pretty sore today from my first run on Sunday...every time I get up from my desk I am like 'ouch' so I am hoping that I will be able to run, am going to go for it anyway...

I could hardly move after week one...going up stairs was the worst and I actually thaught I had done some sort of injury to my hips! Anyway as you can see I am about 7 weeks in but still on week 4 (just) and I no longer suffer any leg aching after my runs. All I am doing now is trying to increase my stamina. It is working sloooowwwwlllllyy but surely:D and the legs/hip pains for me stopped around the end of 3 weeks.
One day you will go out for your run and a few hours later you will realise- hey my legs dont ache !Honest;)

So week 4 run 1 this morning, I slowed my pace down on the treadmill from 6mph to 5mph for the runs and it was surprisingly ok - I'm going to try to do run 2 at 5.5mph and run 3 at 6mph.
