She says that then shows you the pic of her scary looking shoes ;)

I do have running shoes but am having to buy new ones on Saturday because mine are hurting me :( I haven't hit 5k yet but am up 25 minute runs (not sure I'd call it "running" mind you :rotfl:).
I have the purple ones. Purple can't be scary.

    Happy birthday!

So, I did another run last night. This time, I did 5 min walk + 10 min run + 3 min walk + 8 min run + 5 min walk + 2min run + 5 min walk. So, 20min in total running... I got a stitch again after 10 min running, so had to stop and then again at the end of the second run, but I was determined to have 20 min running, although with breaks.

I am going to persist on getting to 20 min non stop and I am sure I will get there one day!

    Keep running everyone!

P.S. I am a slow rinner, I do not set the treadmill faster than 8km/h, usually 7.5km/h, but then keep bumping into emergency stop button and the audio box...

69chick - Happy Birthday. I might pinch your idea re getting younger every year - sounds good to me!

Week 1 completed - very proud of myself.:j Very tired after run 3, was overtaken by an old lady chasing her dog! Not great for the self esteem but I carried on. I too run very slowly but I assume I will speed up eventually when I get fitter?

69 chick - I have worn an old pair of trainers I used to use for the gym with no bad side effects so far so you should be fine with yours. I plan to wait a couple of weeks and treat myself to a new pair.

PepPop - good luck with run 3. We can treat ourselves to a nice bar of chocolate and/or glass of wine tonight to celebrate!:T

Well done Sammygirl. Not sure if I'll get out tonight, might even be Sunday by the time I do mine. Life not too easy in the house at the moment.

Don't be nervous, we managed it last time. Surely it can only get easier??? :D
    Now proud Mumto3 :j
