I am repeating week 3 (because I am a wimp!) no really because I found it difficult, it not the legs, its my ability to keep breathing. Im not out of breath, I just can get a breathing rythmn going, I can't seem to take deep enough breaths, anyone else suffer with this or am I just weird?
No me too! Like I mentioned before I am carrying on with week 3 for this very reason. I am doing week 3 run 4 tomorrow because my lungs just dont feel big enough! I know you will know what I mean:rotfl:

Hi,
I managed week 3 run 2 today. I was expecting it to be horrendous after the first run but didn't find it as bad as I expected - don't get me wrong it was still hard but doable :-). To those with running shoe problems "up and running" is another good chain that checks out your gait before you buy shoes. I wear sauconys and am probably due for a new pair soonish.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0 -
Hi everyone,
Just got back & I'm so proud of myself. Had a fantastic run (wk 6, run 3) and found my groove as soon as I left home. Have just done mapmyrun and I'd done 4kms :j:j:j
Think my choice of music made me run faster (I Predict a Riot by the Kaiser Chiefs???)
Well done everyone :j
Sammygirl and Drea - Wk7 on Friday??? Who will be first? Now proud Mumto3 :j0 -
I'm back from my run!
I was supposed to be doing intervals of 9 mins with 1 min walking in between. However as I came to the end of interval 2 there were workmen, and they were looking at me then at each other if you know what I mean. So I didn't want to slow down, and ended up doing a middle interval of 9+1+9mins.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Evening
I've just been out to do my run. I was supposed to be doing 20 minutes but didn't feel it was possible once I got into it, so I did 9 minutes, 3 min break, then 9 minutes. So 2-minutes more than last time and a shorter interval. I'm going to push it each time I go out so that eventualy there is no interval at all, if that makes sense?
Anyway, it was a lovely evening for it. Warm with a slight breeze. It was very quiet though... I only saw one other jogger tonight.0 -
Just slipping in to say that when I have trouble with the breathing thing, slowing down is what works for me. It does mean I run a 36 min 5k though
Keeping my head down a little because I didn't manage to do my run this morning, had a lie in instead0 -
u01jet4 - Sorry I forgot to reply to your post about the running shop  I have had a look on their website and think it is where I'll go. The shop I was originally thinking of was Run 4 It on Lothian Road but the one you went to sounds better.
I should be doing Week 7, Run 1 tomorrow but I'm off to Cardiff (if the airspace stays open) and back on Saturday afternoon. I'm thinking I'll probably get new shoes on Saturday (if I can figure out how to pay for them) and so will probably run Sat nightJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
You could run to Cardiff instead!Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
