I know I am not ready for a 5 minute run yet! That last minute is still a struggle ...its a good job he tells you theres only 1 minute to go as it really pushes me on to finish it!:o
I noticed this morning my legs feel a bit more muscley!!! So I guess its working:D
Well done. Not long now to the toned and fitter you:T
I did my run yesterday morning - in the cold - just the week 2, run 1. Including my warm-up and cool down, it's 2.4 miles. I assume as I get fitter/faster, this will increase to over 5k?
I'm not using the podcasts; it's a bit noisy for me as that is my thinking time:D I'm counting my way round; 2 paces at brisk walk = 1 second. For jogging I'm counting two strides = 1 second, but I added another count of 10 onto the 90second runs, just to make sure I was running for 90 seconds.
I have found the heart rate monitors and they have stop watches on, so I use those to time myself; when I get some more batteries:o
Well done to all those running.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I'll just think of my treat afterwards - tea with toast&jam...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

Hello, Please can I join in the challenge. You have all inspired me to give it a go.
I hit the big 40 last year ( aggh!!) and have decided bits of me are definitely more wobbly than they used to be! I've never run before although I have talked about going out jogging lots. My husband raised eyebrows when I said I was going out for my first run but has promised that he will take me out for a night of my choice if I stick to it and manage the 5k. Paris would be nice in the summer!!
I did my first run on Sunday and even though I was very pink faced , I was very proud I managed to finish. My thighs are still sore today so I plan to to do second run tomorrow. I plan to get up early before anyone is around. I'm sure it would be easier to fit in at night but I'm frightened I would see someone I know.
I'll report back hopefully tomorrow after Run 2.:)
Are you my twin...:). I have just read your post and thought it was me I was reading about - the red face, Paris, first run on sunday, second run tomorrow - I'm having a Twilight Zone moment :eek:0 -
I am back. I took a shower, made my tea and toasted half bagel and now I am having camomile tea with honey and bagel with raspberry and lime jam.... Yummy!
I was pushing to get Week 5 Run 3, but 9 min into run I've got a stitch, so decided to take 4 minutes (till it is time for Run2 to restart) to recover. But then when I started again, I got the stitch back 4 minutes into running... I tried to keep going,. but had to call it a day after 5 minutes of the second run... I wish I could have done the 20 min, but I am happy with what I have achieved so far. I will do those 20 min soon!
My problem is the breathing - my legs seem to be fine enough to keep running, but I just can't cope with the breathing, and that is why I got my stitches (is that what you call sharp pain, right?..) today. I need to get my lungs up to speed with my legs!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Completed week 2 tonight. I have been running every two days rather than 3 times a week and so far coping ok. I have been running up a steep hill for the first half and down the steep hill at the end so I think for week 3 I will try running on the flat with a slight gradual uphill to make sure I can sustain the pace. I am worried I am making it too easy by running thedownhill at the end, although the uphill at the start is quite hardgoing!
Really glad to have read about this programme on here.
