Ok, I wasn't a good girl. I still haven't progressed beyond Week 5, as I haven't really done much in he whole month!!!

But I promise I am back. I went to gym yesterday morning and I couldn't even do Week 5. Maybe because it was morning and I didn't even have my breakfast yet.

I need to 'up the gear' on all this, as I my consultant's appointment is getting closer (even though I don't have date yet), and I need my BMI below 30 (it is near 31.5 now!!!). I hope I have a month before the 'deadline', so the plan is Tuesday - Thursday - Saturday running, and yoga on Wednesday. I am seriously thinking of joining Tesco diets again (I lost about 10kg in nearly 2 months 2 year ago with them).

    I bet you'll do week 5 next time :)

And running is good for you, but you need energy to run and also your body will be creating muscle in the early stages. So don't starve yourself too much and don't get too disheartened if you don't lose as much as you want to.

I am at the same point as you and was thinking the same about repeating week 3, it seemed so hard running for 3mins. Maybe I'll try week 4 run 1 and then decide if I need more practice!!

I just did it! Needed to extend my recovery time, but made it to the end ... and now am all red faced and puffed out!

Am really struggling with my breathing too, feel like I could run longer, but am too puffed to do so.

Am going to try again on Wednesday morning and see how I go - thought I should push myself a little more ;)

I wouldn't starve myself... I love food too much and I can't go without it, so I will keep eating. I can't go on a very low calorie diet for the reason that we trying for a baby as well, so I need to keep up with all the nutrients and goodness.

Fruits, vegetables, I am also on the vitamin supplement, so I will be fine!

Hi All, I hope you don't mind me posting, and apologies if it's been mentioned before as I haven't gone back through all 29 pages!
I started off doing the couch to 5K program last year, and have recently been doing Parkruns.
If you go to https://www.parkrun.com (it's totally free in true MSE style!) They offer weekly, 5K, timed free runs open to all ages and abilities up and down the country. It's sponsored by Nike, GSK Lucozade, The London Marathon and Sweatshop in the UK who make it possible for these events to be free. Results are emailed the same day and posted on the website with historical results and stats including age group records and age-graded performances (for those getting older!). I half ran half walked my first one and it took me 47 minutes. Now my best time is 32:42 and that still includes a wee walking recovery break or two! :rotfl:
I will always be a plodder I feel, but thats ok! I'm still carrying extra weight - I'm a size 16 now - was a big 18 in Jan but I've lost 1.5 stone since doing this.
I'm going out this afternoon doing 11 miles in prep for the Edinburgh Half Marathon I am doing on May 23rd - and if someone had have told me last year I'd have been doing that I'd have laughed very loudly and said "Yeah, Right!!!" Again, I'm not breaking any records - it took me 2hrs and 4 mins to do 16.3K last Sunday but I've done it by following the 5K to 10K program, and then the 10K to Half Marathon.
So the key is really to stick at it! And entering a run or two sure does focus you as you have something to aim for :D
Good wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.

Ooooh everyone, I've found Freeway to 10k for those of you who want to run 10k! The first few weeks look doable...

Hi everyone, well after 10 days off to get rid of a cold I did week 3 run 1 this morning. I'd annoyed myself by leaving my ipod at work as well so had to just look up the intervals on coolrunning, think I did it a bit wrong though as did 90 secs run, 90 secs walk twice then did 3 mins run, 3 mins walk twice when I should probably have done 1 of each in a row then repeated. My knees hurt a bit even though I went for a swim afterwards again. It was really hard and I was counting down the seconds on the second 3 minute run. I really hope run 2 is easier.

Put in your details and goals and it brings up a 12 week program :)

I had a go at this but it seemed to bring up wuite a tough program and that was on the beginners level.
