Keeping my head down a little because I didn't manage to do my run this morning, had a lie in instead
I don't run very fast anyway, I suppose you would call it more of a jog :rotfl:0 -
Well so far so good - I completed my Week 1 run 2 last night (I was quite chuffed cos I had to go home from work to charge my MP3 and normally I would have sat on the couch and not bothered but I went :j). Run 3 tomorrow.
cookiemum - When are you doing your run 3? (You're keeping me motivated)

Well done all - you're all doing fabulously well :j
Have fun in Cardiff Drea. Hope you find some suitable running shoes.
Mumto2 - Oooh, we've got our first Week 7 run tomorrow :j Just had a listen and it's another 25 minute, which he said is about 2.5 miles :j
I think I need to get some (long!) running shorts, as I'm starting to get way too hot in my jersey jogging bottoms.
Happy running all0 -
PepPop, hopefully Run 3 tomorrow morning. Not aching so much after run 2 - hopefully this is a good sign!
I'll report back friday - providing I don't sleep in!!!:rotfl:

Hi everyone, can I join you? I have been reading through the thread and want to give running a go.. I am getting an ipod tomorrow so I will just need to download the podcasts (to understand what you all mean) and then I am planning to start on Sunday with my first run!!! I have never run before, apart from a 5k race for life a few years ago but that was just a bit of running and then walking etc. I can't imagine how I could possibly be able to run for more than a few minutes, but you have all made me feel like it might be possible
I have a pair of trainers, they are Nike Zoom that I bought a year or so ago and have worn them at a few gym classes, do you think they would be alright to start off in? I don't know if they are running shoes or not, but as they are in good condition I was thinking of starting in them at least and seeing how I go....Starting with Avon C6 target sales £150.000 -

Your shoes should be fine to start with. Week 1 is 60 seconds of running, and you'll probably go slowly, so although good shoes will help they are unnecessary. And you might find you hate running, or are scared of Drea, so give up in a few weeks anyway (although I hope you don't!). You can save up and buy some good shoes as a treat for when you do run 5kmThese are mine and I love them! They need a wash though coz they've got mud on their bottom, poor shoes
I even bought the socks to go with them, but they make my feet feel a bit warm. I imagine they'd be good in winter though.
