    I did it!! :D

At 10 minutes I thought I might die. At 13 minutes I was thinking "hey that isn't too bad", at 16 minutes I thought "oh my god, I'm actually going to do it".

My legs ache. I was walking like a duck for my cooldown :rotfl: think they might be a bit sore tomorrow.

    Hurray for me :D

Yeah!!! Well done. I'm still in awe of the fact that I've run 20mins today. I never would have dreamed it possible. Cto5K is fab :j

Race you to Wk6, Run 1!
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

That's fabulous! Is this the first time you've got this far with Cto5K? Thats fab news - you and Mumto2 should give yourselves a big pat on the back (and a large glass of wine ;))

well done everyone you've all done fabulously well. I've had a week off due to a cold (still getting rid of the remnants) so hope to start week 3 run 1 on Sunday.

    Well all....drumroll.....I DID IT!

A definite measured 5k nonstop. I reckon it was around 35mins but again sort of lost track of time so can't say for sure. The last little bit was tough since it's a very gradual slope (don't want to give the wrong impression here, it's very little height really but felt like more when it was at the end).

So I am living breathing (panting!!) proof that it can be done. I'm very nearly 40 years old and over 11 stone at 5 foot 2 and had never deliberately run in my life. What started me off was coming home from swimming one night and thinking I was being followed (turned out it was my flipflops banging together in the bag :o) and realising as I tried to break into a run that I just couldn't do it. So believe me there is hope for everyone!

I'm going to stay around for a little while if that's ok because I'm off on hols soon and have a feeling I might end up sticking at or around 5k for the next month or too....

Lots of luck to everyone else doing their runs today.

Well done! Can't imagine running for 35mins! I find 3mins hard enough!!!!
Your reason for running is sooooo funny :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well done to everyone, especially belfastgirl for making it to the 5k:j Being able to run 5k, seems such a long way off.

I have switched from running in the evening, to the mornings and finished week 1 this morning. A woman heard me running behind her and got out of the way:o She gave me a smile as I went past, but I'm not sure if it was a smile of sympathy or encouragement; I'm going to pretend it was the latter:D
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

    Wow you are all fantastic!!!!!

I have just done week 3 run 2 , ended up having 3 days rest instead of 1 being so busy this week!
When I did run 1 -I was at my sil's so took a different route but today ran from home and it wasnt as far as weeks 1 and 2! Is this right? :o My cool down walk took me nicely to my front door and last week I had to do a loop....
My dd has started going to the athletics club and when I dropped her off last night there were loads of people jogging off in different directions! One day I hope I can go longer than 3 mins without feeling like my lungs are going to burst:eek: and join them:D
I am also going to try and talk her into coming with me again...she didnt want to last time I asked , but if she can do 6 laps of the track she will probably leave me standing:rotfl:

Yep this is the farthest. Last time I got to the end of week 4 and had a list of excuses not to go onto week 5 :rotfl:

Large glass of wine shall be had tonight :)

I found that for one of the early weeks. Because your recovery times are less you're walking less, and you might also be running slower and thus not covering as much distance. As long as you're sticking to the set times it's fine.

    There's a "gateway to 8k" here but I don't know of any 10k ones
