It was a lot easier than I thought .. although I made the error of changing my route and ending up running uphill for most of the second lot of 3 mins!! I was at my bf's and not used to running around that area.
Felt like my brisk walk was faster than usual, but my runs were slower (but at least I was passing people who were walking!) so I didn't make my usual distance and was just under 3K. I'm using Map My Runs website to see how far I go each run.
Am very sore today, but ready to attack it again tomorrow morning! Not really enjoying Robert's music choice this week, wish i had the time to make my own up!!Couch to 5K Running 2009/2010/2011

I did a few stretches in Week 1 and all my limbs were very sore for the rest of the week. But from Week 2 onwards, I haven't done any stretches and I haven't had any pain
Tbh, I think its where your body is getting used to moving faster that you start to hurt. But as you get into a pattern you don't ache at all. Well, thats my experience anyway!Did run 2 of week 5 today8 minutes was... easy
Now... do I really *have* to do run 3? :rotfl:
Yes, you do have to do run 3 :rotfl:
Right, well this morning I did Week 6 Run 1. And it was b****y awful!!!! That'll teach me for wanting to run intervals again. I swear it was 10 times worse than Week 5 Run 3. Its almost like its better to just keep running rather than walking for a little bit. On the last run I started having a panic attack thinking I couldn't go for 8 minutes, then realised the last run is 5 min so that made me feel a little better
Sorry, just realised I'm probably not motivating anyone now. Sorry! I do feel really proud to get to Week 6 and I know you guys will too. We'll all be running 35 min non stop soon
Happy running all0 -
Might have to get me some of those socks. Don't have an Aldi near me though
They also have for about £2.50: ankle support, knee support, thigh support.
I bought an ankle support, so I bet something happens to my knees instead now:DRENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I got the knee support (had knee op few years back, so want to keep it safe). Haven't had many twinges so far.
If anyone wants anything from Aldi - socks, supports etc then I'm going on Friday. Happy to post things out to people for those who don't live nearby. Can accept paypalNow proud Mumto3 :j0 -
Hello everyone,
I have just completed run 3 of week one. I went out and bought an Ipod touch thanks to ruby_eskimo suggesting the app on the first page so I suppose I better work hard and get my moneys worth!
I recently applied for the police and unfortunately failed the fitness test and now have to wait 6 months to try again. The running element isn't too strenuous (1.5 miles in 14 mins) but I just wasn't prepared properly. I am glad to now have 6 months as I am going to make the necessary lifestyle change that is needed. My aim is to manage a 10k in 6 months time, so the couch to 5k is a great starting point!
I will probably take my time over it and repeat a few weeks as the route I am using is a mixture of steep uphills, downhills and nice long flats.
Anyway waffle waffle waffle, congratualtions to everyone doing so well so far!

Welcome on board, u01jet4! Great goal to have in mind when you are doing the program.
I'm not going running tonight, folks. Have been feeling really strange all day, quite dizzy. Ended up lying on settee this afternoon and dozed for about 2 1/2 hrs. Fortunately OH here to look after kiddies. Not like me at all, feel better now, but am going to run tomorrow morning instead.
Will report back on how the 20mins goes :eek:Now proud Mumto3 :j0 -

Sorry to hear you've been poorly
Good luck tomorrow and let us know how you got on. Remember, slow and steady wins the race (that's what I tell myself. Actually I also said it to a one eyed golden oldie dog today who was walking waaaaaaaay behind his owner, God love him)

I dragged myself out last night and managed 5k in 34 minutes not my best time, but patted myself on the back for getting out when I could easily have just opened a tin of beer instead. I have to run walk still, i think I find it hard to slow my run so that I keep going for longer.0

Morning all, thanks for your wishes.
Felt much better this morning so have been out and done Wk5, Run 3 - 20 mins!!! Was tough, but managed it. Got quite frustrated as my MP3 player was playing up, so wouldn't play my carefully timed music and ended up joining in with the podcase half way through so quite confusing. BUT despite that finished it.
Good luck to those running today.
Drea - hope your leg is feeling better today. Take it easy. Now proud Mumto3 :j0
