Did Week 2 for two weeks as was stuck in Mallorca! Shame Lol!!
Have just had a listen to week 3 it seems quite a jump from 90 secs running to 3 mins! Will probably take me a few weeks to be able to do that!

Just watching the Marathon, it exhausts me just watching it! My brother is doing it for the upteenth time - think he is mad!

You're all still going strong - well done :j

Did Week 5 Run 2 on Friday  I woke up in the morning, and I apologise for the tmi, but it was the first day of my monthly and I was all crampy, bloated and felt like complete carp. Running was prob the last thing I wanted to do!! Anyway, knowing I still had to walk my dog regardless, I put my running clothes on and went to the park and I have to say the exercise did me the world of good!! I felt so much better afterwards.

Drea - Have you got an iPhone? I highly recommend the imapmyrun app. It is free :j and it uses the GPS to tell you your distance, minutes per mile, calories etc. It really is very good.

Week 5 Run 3 tomorrow, and I'm trying to build my way up to the 20 min run. That will def be a slow and steady pace! But the marathon on telly today has spurred me on :)

    Happy running :j

Just did Week 5, Run 1, it was fine :) bit worried about run 2 and don't even want to think about run 3 :rotfl:

Sammy - I don't have an iPhone :( it's a Sony Ericsson W995, the app thing is new to me, I guess the imapmyrun one is just for an iPhone?

Drea - You might still be able to get it. Have a search on your phone and see if it comes up? There's also one called Runtastic thats free. Worth doing a search?

Good luck Mumto2 for the next run :j What I don't understand is Run 3 is a 20 min non stop, but Week 6 we go back to intervals. Hmmmmmm, maybe he's trying to challenge us lol

Had a look but I don't think I can get either of them for my phone :(

Have been looking at walkme some more and it has 125k downloads... can't be too rubbish...

There's another one I could get called sportypal but not sure if that uses GPS so probably wouldn't be very reliable.

    Sorry, just thinking aloud :rotfl:

Woohoo - did Wk5, Run 2. Absolutely loved it. (so much that I did an extra 4 mins as was so far from home!) :j:j:j

I decided to ditch Mr Ullrey as couldn't face him interrupting my running time. so got hubby to put me some The Killers on my MP3 player - all tracks carefully timed for the 8 min run and 5 min walk. Worked a treat, so will probably do the same for the 20 minute run.

Am considering doing another one of these runs before attempting the run 3. What do you think Drea & Sammy Girl?

Also - I reached Lands End yesterday on my exercise bike challenge. Took 6 weeks to cycle from John O Groats to Lands End, which I'm really chuffed with as was only in spare time and had started the running as well :T

I was thinking how awful it'll be doing my 20 minutes hearing him telling the day 1's and 2's to stop :rotfl: I hate his music but I think I'll stick with him through the programme just to make sure I do it right :)

Both of you seem to have enjoyed the 8 minute runs so hopefully I will too on Tuesday! I'll see how I feel after I've done run 2 but now that I'm close to it I'm quite eager to go and do my 20 minute run... I must be mad.

I do feel knackered after my 5 minute runs but after about 3 minutes I just seem to be in a "zone" and not really counting like I used to or wishing it to be over so hopefully that'll see me through with the next two runs.

Hey, I have now officially gone farther in the programme than I did first time around :) it's all new from here. :T

Well done on your cycling too mumto3 :D

Hey guys, well thought I did my first 5k today but turns out when I measure it it's actually 4.7k but still pretty happy with it. I think it took about 35 mins but not exactly sure since I forgot to wear a watch. It feels like the key for me is to not think about it, the minute I started to think about how much more I had to run I'd feel exhausted so I just did a shopping list in my head instead :)

    Well done everyone!

Gonna go for the big 5k next run!!!!
