Oh.my.god. I have just done wk4 run 1 :eek::eek: Jeeeeezus, that was hard. But I did it, somehow! I don't have a single ounce of energy left in my body though. I have no idea what childbirth feels like, but I can't imagine it to feel any worse than that just did.
I noticed that during the first 2.5 min run my ankles and knees were aching/burning, but by the end, the pain was gone. Is this anything to worry about? Something to do with my shoes?0 -
This morning I did the 2nd week 2 run (actually I should have done the 1st one on Monday, but forgot to put the times on my phone, so rather than not go out at all, I did an extra week 1 run)
It was a beautiful morning, with a lovely red sun rising over the fields, with the trees silhouetted against the sky. The birds were singing in the hedgerows, & I saw some cowslips peeping through the grass on the bank.
...............but BOY... was it cold!!!!!!
I was so glad I thought to wear gloves!!!0 -
Just back from Wk5, Run 1. Went fine. Hightlights were - getting punched in arm by another runner (narrow path :rotfl:). getting told off by man on mobility scooter for running on the grass :rotfl:(I was only trying to get out of the way of his dog!)
Might have to use a stopwatch for the next 2 runs, because I think I'll get annoyed with Mr ullrey for telling other people to stop and making me keep going
good luck to everyone running this weekendNow proud Mumto3 :j0 -
Got a brand new phone yesterday which has GPS so I downloaded an application for it today called "Walkme" which will tell me distance, calories burned, duration, how many steps, speed, etc.
Off out for my run soon, quite looking forward to using itJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
That sounds really good Drea!! You will have to let us know how you get on with it!
I dont know how far I am running, my dh asked me they other day and I think my route is about 1 and 3/4 miles all together as a very rough guess. It would be nice to know what the average distance is at each week -so we know if we really are heading towards that 5k!JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

Unfortunately it turned out I had downloaded a trial version so all the information I got was I had done just under 5,000 steps and 0.97 miles after 15 minutes. It only works for 15 minutes on the trial and didn't give me all the information
Will have a look later to see if I can find the full version, if it isn't too expensive I'll buy itJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Thats a shame...I have a step counter somewhere that I forgot about ,so I will wear that on monday if I remember! It measures distance etc (but isnt 100% acurate) might give me a rough average over the week.
I am starting week 3 monday and am worried that I am going to struggle. I found the last run on friday hard but I will just have to go for it! I am sure I will make myself finish:D
Well done everyone...hope you're all having a good weekend!JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

Have found the full version for £7.80, seems quite expensive for a phone app... will think about it.
Week 5 on Monday but might go tomorrow depending on how I feel. Think the first run will be okay but might need picking up from the pavement for the other twoJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Just popping in to try to motivate myself to do week 8 run 2 tomorrow morning. Had a really busy day today, on my feet a lot and got an aching arch in one foot so hoping it feels better come the morning. It would need to because I just had a leftover portion of tiramisu and i know it was definitely calorific
Anyway have the run mapped send me good wishes about 9 tomorrow!
