moremoneythansense welcome. The podcasts are definitely for real couch potatos. If you look back in this thread and the previous one, all of us struggled with week one. (Run 1 minute walk one minute and then repeat.) Some of us have repeated weeks time and time again but we are all getting there . I am now running 25 minutes at a time.(Very slowly, old ladies have been known to overtake but hey I'm doing it;)) We are a very friendly supportive bunch on here and I'm sure you will get along just fine. Give it a go. It might even help relieve the stress of your exam.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0

However, I often think if I Really really tried I might be able to do a half marathon eventually - so this sounds like a good plan if it is motivational.
Can anyone tell me whether these podcasts REALLY are for couch potatoes first of all... and not for people with lots of previous running experience who just need to get back into it??
Well done to all who are sticking to the plan and achieving their goals. x
OMG yes :rotfl:I am still on week 2 and after my first run on week 1 -I could hardly walk up the stairs:eek: ( infact sitting on my couch hurt!). I havent run for over 20 years!! I can however walk quite far- running is a different kettle of fish as far as my legs are concerned.
I have a similar goal and marathons are in there somewhere but its going to take a very long time;).
I have just started with the podcasts and love it, but dont get me started on how long it took to figure out my mp3 player:eek::rotfl:I am not very good with gadgets:o
Give it a go:T I am sure you will enjoy it and this thread is great for keeping the motivation going and advice as we are all at different stages.JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

Hi there, come and join us!
I'm definately a novice - as are most of us. It is definately possible to start from scratch (and look at us now).
It's a great sense of achievement when you can come back on here & post that you've done it. (or if things don't go so well, you know you'll get lots of positive support and a kick up the ****!!)Now proud Mumto3 :j0 -

I have been doing this for just over a week now, (not using podcast, but interval timer on phone - but otherwise the same principle) and I think the last running I did was over 30 years ago. I don't think that counts as lots of previous running experience:)0
