Wow wee, teacher girl - well done!
I'm on a rest day today, but will be Tues evening when I run again as we're going down to Reading tonight, staying overnight at hotel with pool (2 rooms for £10 each - cheers Martin!), then going to Legoland tomorrow (thanks to Tesco's). Our kiddies have a teacher training day tomorrow, so hoping to take advantage of a fairly quiet day with not too many queues...

Well I finally started week 8 :j:j and ran a total of 2.75 miles this morning. I must confess to a very short walk after about a mile, don't know what happened but I took the head staggers a bit :) but I only walked for about 30 secs then went on to complete it so I'm counting it as a success! It did take me probably about 32 mins and I must confess I felt like I could not have run another step by the end, but hopefully it will get easier next time.

Only two weeks to go. Gulp!

Well done everyone who's keeping running!

poor bertiebots - have just seen your MP3 tech thread and you still haven't got it sorted. Hope it works soon.

Well done belfastgirl23 and teachergirl on your long runs :j:j:j

teachergirl - ohhhh I thought you meant it was silly to run late at night (well it probably is actually... running in the dark especially). But yeah, I am very much a night owl so 9pm+ works best for me :) I could never run in the morning, I can barely function before midday :o

Have been for my last run of week 3. It's my legs that really start to ache going into my last run and it actually hurts when I start walking for my 5 minutes cooldown... does anyone else get that?

Week 4 on Tuesday... 5 minute runs...

So week 2 run one completed this morning - not too bad considering I had a bottle of wine last night (oops). Followed it with the 30 mins swim as well.

That's normal. When you first run you find you're out of breath and that's the only reason you stop, but your lungs quickly get used to it. Your legs were probably fine at first, so it's only after a few weeks that they have to learn something new. Or maybe they did ache at first, but you were concentrating on not being able to breathe and didn't notice!

It could also be due to your body producing more lactic acid than you're used to, which is a good thing as it means you're getting fitter.

Week 2 run 2 just done. Really stuggled today for some reason, feel a bit bloated so may be that. Think I will repeat this run on Tuesday though. Still feeling it a bit on my left shin, not sore enough to stop me, but I can feel it when running. Oh well, keep on keeping on everyone.
