Thanks dizziblonde
I had a look at the old thread and I seem to have made it to week 4 first time round before I gave up. I'm at week 3 now, so I wonder if I'll actually get past week 4 this time :rotfl:Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
really really good advice there from not-so-dizzy blonde
Felt so ashamed of myself after last night's post that I managed to get myself out for a run this morning - this has been a bit of a problem for me actually - running during the week - and I'm going to ahve to sort it out. Anyway managed I think the 2.5 miles (had to go by time so 29 mins again) which makes week 7 run 2 completed. It did leave me running late though which is the bit I'm struggling with, i do so much enjoy a swim after a run that it doesn't feel like an option to just run...
I was also thinking about the question of whether it gets easier and I think the answer is probably yes. In that I now set out with a belief that I can do it whereas at the start I wasn't at all sure
Hope you're all up and running this beautiful day!0 -

I really struggle with running during the week too. It takes a lot to get me back out the door after getting home from work but I know there's just no chance I'd get up early in the morning to do it. It's the exact same problem I had last time round although not in winter this time, thankfully :rotfl:Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Last time I trained I used to do shorter runs during the week - 3-4 miles and then long runs on a weekend - 5 miles plus (this was after a long time leading up to those distances I may add). Again this was mostly due to time constraints.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

Thanks for the advice, Dizzyblonde.
I'm doing my Wk 3, run 3 today. so will be hitting Wk 4 on Fri/Sat
Not sure if I'll be posting much over the next week or so (found out today my mum is having heart surgery tomorrow, so will be at hosp a lot). Am going to try my best to stick with the running, as think it will be good for clearing the head. Keep your fingers crossed everyone.
Look forward to hearing your run updates when I get chance. Now proud Mumto3 :j0 -

Is there any scope to run at lunch from work?
It's much easier to get up and leave the office for a run than it is to get off the couch and leave the house0 -
Great advice dizziblonde thank you.
Big hugs mumto2 hope everything is O.K.:grouphug:
I know what it is like having to fit in kids and parent hospital visits in. Though my children are older so it is probably easier. Running is great for clearing the head it is one of the reasons I started. When everything gets too much my running is something just for me and I can't worry whilst I am doing it if you see what I mean.
Well done belfastgirl23 and sammy_girl. No more running for me untill Friday when it is 25 minutes:eek: I must motivate myself to do something on the imbetween days. I have sat on the sofa again today:o Then I tried a workout on the TV but it stressed the dogs:rotfl:so I had to stop! Perhaps I will try a walk after tea. At least the sun has come out here now.
Keep going everyone.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -
Best wishes for your mam mumto2.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0
