    Just done wk2 run 1.
So pleased. I was onto my 6th run and was starting to think 'when is this going to endddd, how am I going to manage another two runs' so wasoverjoyed when he said it was time for the 5min cooldown! I just assumed it would be 8 reps like week 1, not 6.

So yeah, another run done and I'm feeling pleased with myself :)

Hi skintlass, I think we were all exactly the same after the first run ;).

Just make sure you do lots of stretches before and after & try to do gentle walking today.

I promise I didn't ache anywhere near as much after the 2nd run - stick with it!
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

After my swim I went in the jacuzzi which I hoped would help and I walked the dog yesterday and this morning. I used to run a few years ago and this has brought back to me that I shouldn't have given up. I'm going to do my next run tomorrow - wish me luck girls :-).

  • Hey all,

    Have you room for another??

I started "running" today for the first time in about a year, although, in all honesty I've never managed to reach an even vaguely competent level!

I found a website yesterday that e-mails you every day telling you what to do, so today I walked 5 mins, (ran 1 min, walked 1 min) x 10, then walked 5-10 mins as a cool down!

I thought on reading it that it would've been too easy, but I'm ashamed to say I actually struggled with it! I managed to break through the breathlessness when I got settled into it, but my left shin is killing me!

Ah well - here's hoping for an improvement tomorrow!!

    xx

Hop on board, there's always room for more!

Your plan sounds similar to what everyone is doing. coolrunnings.com is one that a lot of people use and also the podcasts which are on http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/index.html set to music!
It's great being part of this group - makes you realise that everything you're feeling is completely normal :D

Good luck to everyone running today (I'm going once hubby comes home from work before we go out for an Indian :o - babysitters are a rare treat!)

To those who know about my cycling challenge - I've made it down to West Bromwich! Almost 2/3 of way there. Hoping to get there by Bank holiday weekend in May :D

Welcome Crap_with_money.com . Well done on your first run. You might have to have a rest day between runs .
Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D
  • Thanks for the welcome everyone! :D

Teachergirl - yeah you're right, I would've expected a rest day in between, but I've had the e-mail through telling me what to do tomorrow and it says I am indeed due to go out running again! :( The plan aims to have you go from not running at all, to 30 mins continuously within 3 weeks! I'm thinking it might be a bit too ambitious, but I'll give it a go!

Drea The website is www.running.about.com it gives lots of handy hints on what to eat/wear etc so might be worth a wee read! I'm from the Glasgow area, although flitting between my mum's and OH's just now so a bit of a nomad really!!

Mumto2 Thanks for the link! I'll have a wee nosey later on! My Ipod's at my mum's though, so it'll maybe need to wait a few days before I could actually download it! :)
